publisher’s note

> Thank you, our readers and subscribers, for expressing your interest in Tampa Bay’s newest and greatest publication. My gratitude also extends to our loyal, talented and hard-working team of wonderful people who have pledged their efforts in bringing our dream into reality so that we could share our vision with the most important sector of our business, namely, each of you, our readers. Further, as with any new “kid on the block,” we are equally proud of our advertising clientele who have expressed their confidence by deciding that our success will be their success, and investing in our magazine.

One last thought… I’ve visited and considered many other cities prior to choosing Tampa Bay for this project. Weeks were spent visiting cities like Miami, Palm Beach, etc. All of them have their great art galleries, great restaurants, great nightlife, and great entertainment venues…but in my opinion galleries, restaurants, nightlife and entertainment are only secondary ingredients necessary to make a great city. In Tampa, I discovered the primary ingredient that makes a great city…People! < All the very best, Sincerely,

Our simple business ideology is to offer more interesting and vivid articles and news, both local and national, to the people living and visiting in the Tampa Bay area. Our new, “hip” concept will embody the energy necessary to open the doors to our exciting and wonderful city. Tampa Style Magazine, in addition to opening the doors to a new and cosmopolitan Tampa Bay, will also provide an outlet, a voice for you, the active generation of this city. At the conclusion of each article we welcome your input by encouraging your comments and/ or suggestions. We will need your feedback to assist us in fine- tuning our publication and have it evolve into the best magazine for you.

Innisbrook: A Salamander Golf & Spa Resort By: Ramona Hurley Read more at: StyleToMe.com

> As summer winds to a close and thoughts turn to Fall getaways, it is a bonus to discover a location that is only a short drive away that makes us feel we’ve traveled far from the daily stresses of life. If you are one of the many Tampa Bay area residents who don’t often find their way to north Pinellas County, the newly remodeled, private oasis of Innisbrook Resort provides a great reason to plan that escape today. Known for world-class championship golf, the resort’s four courses offer an unexpected change in landscape that you might find more reminiscent of the Carolinas. The highly regarded Copperhead Course, home of the PGA TOUR’s Transitions championship each March, is framed in tall stately pines, offering rolling hills and elevated tees that are both challenging and beautiful. During the past tournament, then-World Number One Martin Kaymer called it “the best course I’ve played in the United States.” There’s also the scenic Island Course that resort members feel is every bit as challenging as Copperhead, if not more so. It features course elevations that represent the highest point in Pinellas County. Island is also a favorite of nature lovers with abundant wildlife, including a few families of Bald Eagles. The LPGA-sanctioned Legends Tour also holds its only annual major championship on the layout each fall, with this year’s event scheduled for November 11-13. The appealingbut-challenging North and South courses round out Innisbrook’s 72-hole collection – all of which were designed by Larry Packard, who still lives at the resort at the ripe old age of 98.

you haven’t been to Innisbrook. The resort’s owner, Business Entrepreneur Sheila C. Johnson, has completed extensive renovations to the tune of over $26 million. These sweeping enhancements included golf course improvements, the new Osprey clubhouse featuring a beautiful guest registration area, a gourmet market, the new Market Salamander Grille & Sports Bar with patio dining and live entertainment, a complete remodeling of Innisbrook’s three conference centers and the addition of the new and luxurious Indaba Spa. The new spa, Market Salamander Grille and Packard’s Steakhouse (a guest favorite) are also open to the public for area residents to enjoy as well. Families enjoy the fun setting at Loch Ness Monster Pool, which features two winding water slides, a cascading waterfall, and sandy beach areas for toddlers. The energetic staff also plans numerous children’s activities that keep all ages entertained for hours. Innisbrook offers a variety of unique events throughout the year and Bay Area car enthusiasts will love the upcoming Weekend of Exotic Luxuries on November 18-19. The two-day event is being held in conjunction with duPont REGISTRY magazine, Neiman Marcus and G Magazine. It will feature a signature “Cars ‘N Coffee” event with over 300 luxury dream cars on display, an exotic luxuries vendor showcase, a Food & Wine Festival, a golf tournament which includes a chance to win an exotic car, and a special gala dinner reception. Innisbrook’s beautiful, private setting is just 20 miles from Tampa International Airport. To learn more, including membership opportunities, visit www.visitInnisbrook.com or call 727-942-2000.<

Most Fashionable Women By: Dana Damato Read more at: StyleToMe.com

Lady Gaga

> Whether they’re walking down the red carpet at a Hollywood awards show or flying across the world to shake the hand of the President or Prime Minister, the women we admire the most are the ones who can set the world on fire and leave us asking ourselves, “What are they wearing?” because they look so good as they run the world. As society and fashion trends change, these 10 power women never let us down when it comes to their career or their outfits. For this fall, these are the key women to look at for elegant, sophisticated, classy, or outrageous fashion ideas. The first most fashionable power woman on my list always leads right to Michelle Obama. Being the 2nd first lady to ever grace the cover of Vogue Magazine in it’s March 2009

issue, Michelle Obama has lead the country as a first lady standing strong next to her husband, President Barack Obama. Setting examples of motherhood and leading a few social initiatives of her own, Michelle Obama has always looked the part of a woman who always seems to get it right. More recently, the royal name has been seen in a very fashionable light as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (Formerly Kate Middleton), has transformed into the most looked-to and admired fashion icon of the new decade. It was her famous wedding dress, a creation by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen that turned the newest royal into the uppermost icons in the fashion world. Third on the list is handed to a more edgy and odd person, none other then Lady Gaga. Yes, she is outrageous in her couture ensembles and many

will certainly disagree with her as “fashionable.” However, she is brilliant because she has created an empire solely based off her music and wardrobe. Her looks are inspiring because of the artistic aspect, and if fashion is a form of art, then Lady Gaga is the Pablo Picasso. Fourth on the list is couldn’t help but include Jennifer Aniston. Being one of the most famous American actress, film director, and producer for as long as we can remember, Jen Aniston never lets us down with her continuous beauty and style. Almost always making a statement and always topping the charts on best dressed lists, singer Rihanna never falls short of dressing brilliant and beautiful. Putting her Harry Potter wizarding days behind her, this fashion forward female is about to take the world by storm as she landed on the cover of Vogue’s July 2011 issue. If you haven’t heard of my seventh pick, do a Google search as soon as possible. Appearing on the MTV Reality show The City, fashionista Olivia Palermo is the girl you see walking down the street and can’t help but stare at. She is known world wide as a fashion trendsetter (and even played the part on Sex and the City!). Sarah Jessica Parker also has an array of outfits that she has presented to the world over the years and continues to uphold her name in the fashion, business, and acting world. The final two have a new and fresh approach to their fashion, but always end up

Julie Weintraub Is the Fairy Godmother to so many in need By: Allison Otis Photo Courtesy of Julie Weintraub Read more at: StyleToMe.com

Last year, the event

beneficiaries and hopes to match, if not increase its benefaction this year.

styletome.com

> One might call Julie Weintraub a fairy godmother. However, her formula is not magic, it’s generosity. Founded in 2010, Hands Across the Bay is Weintraub’s brainchild, a local charity organization that supports Tampa Bay area charities and residents in an effort to improve the community’s standard of living. For those who know Weintraub, the undertaking is far from unusual. She recognizes charitability as “an obligation of having a business in the community.” Thus, as the local business owner of Gold & Diamond Source, she and her husband have consistently been contributors to the community. In fact, Gold & Diamond Source has an in-kind donation program that donates a piece of jewelry to an event in order to raise funds for the benefiting organization. Hands Across the Bay, then, was a natural progression to address the growing needs of the community amidst the financial crisis. On October 1 at Pepin‚ Hospitality Centre, Hands Across the Bay will present Tampa Bay’s fifth annual Dancing with the Stars, a black-tie event patterned after ABC’s hit reality television show of the same name. The dancers are local celebrities, community personalities and philanthropists who will certainly both captivate the audience with choreography from professional dance instructors from Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Tampa and dazzle in spectacular gowns and formalwear from the original DWTS designer of Designs to Shine. The National and In-

ternational Ballroom Competition Adjudicators as well as votes cast by the audience will judge performances. Besides putting on a fabulous show, Tampa Bay’s Dancing with the Stars will benefit Kids Charity of Tampa Bay, Inc.,The Pepin Academies, Inc., and Hands Across the Bay. The Kids Charity of Tampa Bay is a non-profit organization that seeks to improve the quality of life for foster children and foster families. The Pepin Academies is a tuition-free, not-for-profit organization dedicated to educating students with identified learning and learning-related disabilities. Committee chooses the recipients each year based on the degree of need. Receiving limited to no funding by the state or federal government, the money raised by the event is invaluable. Last year, the event contributed $30,000 to each of its three beneficiaries and hopes to match, if not increase its benefaction this year. To contribute to the event, one can go to the website and purchase a table or an individual seat for the event or vote for a dancer. (www. dancingforcharity.com) Also, be sure to visit the organization’s website (www.handsacrossthebay. com) for information about current needs and how to give back, either financially or through volunteer work. Weintraub insists, “Donations do not have to be money. If they give their time or talent, it’s huge to us.”<

St. Petersburg Florida Takes Its Place Among Great Waterfront Cities Forward by: Cathleen K. Bode Read more at: StyleToMe.com

our town

> The gem in the crown of Tampa Bay offers a lively, livable lifestyle along its sunny shore. New York City, Chicago, Boston, Seattle. Such uptown waterfront cities conjure immediate images of vibrant downtowns that offer a beautiful and multifaceted way of life, especially for those fortunate enough to live within shouting distance of their celebrated shorelines. Imagine that same vibe in a location of sun and fun — someplace that offers all the sophistication, convenience and dazzle of bigcity living, plus the pace and friendliness of a small town, and lots of extras, like tolerable traffic, affordable real estate, a sparkling waterfront — and a noticeable absence of snow. St. Petersburg, Florida has long outgrown its old rep as a mecca for retirees and vacationers, and it’s getting better every day. Visionary leadership, a can-do business community, strong support of the arts and unparalleled location have transformed it into one of the most likable, livable waterfront cities in the United States. Even during the current economy, when many cities have stalled or slipped, St. Petersburg has kept a steady course, successfully wooing new business and world-class partners; it also completed a new $35-million Dali museum and continued building — and selling — waterfront condominiums. It’s easy to see why:

::

and interest, from the Gizella Kopsick Palm Arboretum with its tranquil walking paths, to North Shore Park, with its pool, tennis courts and white sandy beach. The centerpiece of the park system is Straub Park, whose exotic banyan tree and colorful bougainvillea lead the way to The Pier, a halfmile-long thoroughfare that leads to The Pier Aquarium and Marine Education Center, dining, shopping, fishing, and community festivals and activities. And there, beyond the tidy lawns, exotic landscape and swaying palms, lie the calm blue-green waters of Tampa Bay, home to picturesque marinas, elegant yachts, bobbing sailboats, boat tours and rentals, commercial ships lining the distant horizon and dolphins playing in the sun. On any day, you’ll also spy paddleboards and paddle boats, paddling kayakers and puddle jumpers. Fishing and stargazing also are favorite pastimes at The Pier. This outdoor diversity — along with a rich calendar that includes some 1,000 annual open-air events — is among the reasons St. Petersburg is regularly recognized with “firsts” and “bests,” including Florida’s first Green City by the Green Building Coalition, noted for energy conservation, recycling, water conservation, fuel efficiency, landscaping, preservation of open spaces, and other environmental programs. (Among its many other rankings are: Florida’s Most Walkable City, Tree City USA and one of America’s cleanest cities among major metropolitan areas, as well as many business-friendly awards.)

Baseline: Perfect Location World Class Culture & Quality of Life

The central downtown area of St. Petersburg hugs about three miles of the pristine shores of Tampa Bay, and within that sinuous greenway are 11 distinct, well-kept city-owned waterfront parks — the legacy of thoughtful forefathers who eschewed industry and private ownership and chose to share this beautiful space with one and all. Today it’s the third largest waterfront park system in North America — behind only the notable shorelines of Vancouver and Chicago. St. Petersburg’s waterfront parks offer a little something for every mood

Interspersed among the parks and along the waterway is a chain of museums, entertainment, education and sports venues. The latest gem in this chain is the Salvador Dali Museum, the architecturally stunning edifice that houses the largest collection of Dali outside of Europe. It was designed by Yann Weymouth, who oversaw the glass Louvre Pyramid in Paris and who designed the superb addition to St. Petersburg’s own Museum of Fine Arts within Straub Park along Beach Drive. The beautiful drive also

along the waterfront, too, and now support local, national and international baseball, soccer, and other sports competitions, plus community events.

moved in near downtown. Pinellas County, in fact, ranks second in the state in manufacturing employment and third in the number of manufacturing firms.

Layers of Convenience

Living along the downtown waterfront — with the luxury of taking in all the amenities, beauty and conveniences at a moment’s notice — has become even more desirable, accessible and elegant in the recent past, with mid- and high-rise condominium residences judiciously positioned to enhance (and capture) uninterrupted views of the water.

St. Petersburg’s wonderfully walkable waterfront is gaining considerable reputation for its lively nightlife, too, highlighted by a delightful array of alfresco dining spots (along thoughtfully broadened sidewalks) and taste options. You’ll find everything from drop-in snack shops (complete with watering bowls for your four-legged friends) to casual lunch spots to exceptional fine-dining experiences.

is home to the Morean Art Center’s Chihuly Collection, as well as numerous other fine arts galleries and shops. St. Petersburg’s oldest museum, the Museum of History, is right around the corner, at the gateway to The Pier. The stately St. Petersburg Yacht Club, one of the oldest yacht clubs in the United States, commands a large corner spot and marina nearby along Bay Shore Drive. Nearby is the recently renovated Progress Energy Center for the Arts/Mahaffey Theater, a 2,031-seat cultural jewel with elegant ballroom space; spectacular waterfront views; European box-style seating; and Broadway, musical and variety entertainment. Also along the waterfront are the University of South Florida, home to a powerhouse research- and technology-focused College of Marine Science, and the renowned Poynter Institute for Media Studies. The historic spring training grounds of Al Lang Field are

Getting around by car is a treat here, too, especially compared to other cosmopolitan cities whose traffic snarls foil the best of times. You can also board a charming horse-drawn carriage or, for 25 cents, grab a trolley that loops throughout the downtown area. The city offers quick access to Interstate 275 toward Tampa and points north, as well as south to Sarasota and Naples. Tampa International Airport is a quick 30-minute drive away, while St. Petersburg/ Clearwater International Airport is a scant 20 minutes away. Even more convenient, the city-owned Albert Whitted Airport is yet another downtown waterfront convenience, with charter and sightseeing flights, and tie downs for private aircraft.

And the living couldn’t be easier. The most recent addition, Ovation, sits at the coveted corner of Beach Drive and Second Avenue Northeast (which leads to The Pier). Ovation is an intimate community of just 45 estate-size homes, all with views over the water, destinations and parks below. With just two 3,660-square-foot homes per floor — each with its own private elevator lobby — this luxury address is known for privacy and individuality that rival a single family home. The homes include three bedroom, three baths, plus family room, a flexible study and a gourmet kitchen — and four balconies. The community features 24-hour concierge services, a pool and spa deck with expansive outdoor space and covered cabanas, a large social room with catering kitchen, plus a smaller gathering room for informal events — and a stunning entry lobby with specially commissioned artwork.

Livable, Workable Lifestyle Sunshine City State of Mind

This may read a little like a tourist broadsheet (and oh yes, there’s plenty of accommodations for visitors, including the historic Vinoy Renaissance Resort & Golf Club, with its private marina and spa), but St. Petersburg is a business-friendly city designed for real working and real living. While many cities have remained stagnant in the past few years, St. Petersburg has maintained a slow but steady momentum forward. Last year, the city’s All Children’s Hospital secured a coveted merger with world medical leader Johns Hopkins. Together with other large downtown medical centers All Children’s/ Johns Hopkins is part of a respected medical complex that serves residents throughout Tampa Bay. And Draper Laboratory, an offshoot of MIT that develops microchips for military and medical technology also

Few cities can match the vibrancy and pure livability of St. Petersburg’s downtown. And its allure is even more remarkable when you realize that everything described above — the parks, beauty, culture, dining, entertainment, art, shopping, education and more — is strictly along its pristine waterfront. Stroll a block or two or three inland and there’s so much more to see and do and experience — more museums, more dining, more shopping, more theaters, more business centers, more opportunities for residences. And award-winning, year-round accessible, sugar-sand beaches are barely 20 minutes away. This, the aptly nicknamed Sunshine City, is well worth a visit — and certainly worth considering as a permanent or seasonal home.<

Tampa Bay blew the “world” away being labeled “the best World Championships to date” as host to the 2011 World Dragon Boat Racing Championships with teams from 17 nations that visited the Bay Area for over a week in August. The opening ceremonies were held at Curtis Hixon Park, which presents the beauty of our waterfront, downtown atmosphere and small town hospitality within a big city. This eight-acre park features a unique urban design perfect for many events to include free music series: Rock The Park, the Tampa Bay Food and Wine Experience and many others that are listed on our event calendar. If the weather isn’t the best, you may want to visit our very own premier dining and entertainment destination, the 17,500 sq ft. Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino which recently hosted the 40th Anniversary, Hard Rock on Wheels: Music Greatest Memorabilia Collection. The collection has 40 (or so) of Hard Rock’s greatest memorabilia items but departed for Miami and Hollywood after their stop here. The Seminole Hard Rock has all the necessities and luxuries you’d expect from a place that caters to the “Rock Star” experience.

You can hop on over to Clearwater, home to The Venue where I recently enjoyed LMFAO’s SkyBlu performance of his current chart-topping single “Party Rock Anthem.” There’s always something happening there. Make sure you check out the Ultra Lounge, Martini Bar, Mediterranean Deck Bar, Champagne Lounge and Upper Cabana Deck as well as Wine Room and Banquet Room for private dining. Definitely the place to keep you busy all night long! In the mood for living on the wild side… adventures at Lowery Park Zoo don’t just happen during the daylight hours. Named one of the “10 Great Beer Festivals in the Country” by USA Today, the 16th annual WaZoo gave guests a tropical taste explosion with over 250 beers and beverages from around the world, including food and live music from local artists. Other than “wild” events, the zoo is home to a baby Indian rhinoceros (also known as the greater one-horned rhinoceros) that was born in mid-July and is currently on exhibit in the Asian Gardens area. Swim 2012 > As we put a close to the summer season and put our swimwear in a drawer we won’t bother to open until next year, the season is not quite over just yet. In the land of fashion emerging all over the world, there is no better way to experience it all then having all of the designers showcasing their lines in one place during one incredible week. Hitting Miami, FL like a hurricane on July 14-18, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week offered international designers to display their 2012 swim collection to thousands inside the fashion world. Exclusive and by invitation only, these events occur twice annually in New York & Berlin, and once a year in Miami. Known as the premier event worldwide, supermodels and celebrities came together at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim to present the best in swim fashion for the season ahead. With a lengthy list of designers such as A.CHÉ, Aguaclara, Agua Di Lara, BeachBunny Swimwear, Caffe Swimwear, Cia. Maritima, Crystal Jin, Diesel, Dineila Brazil, Dolores Cortes, Have Faith Swimwear, Kooey Swimwear Australia, Luli Fama, Luxe by Lisa Vogel, Mara Hoffman Swimwear, Nicolita, Poko Pano, Red Carter, White Sands Australia, Wildfox Swimwear, and many more, each and every designer had a unique style to their line. Out of all the shows, the one that was truly show stopping from beginning to end was none other then the collection from the talented Mara Hoffman. Known for her colorful, bohemian style, Mara Hoffman presented a remarkable runway show. Whether it’s her nomadic worldly inspirations that makes her line unique, or the fact that her swimwear collection for 2012 is strongly inspired by her tribal roots, her signature, immediately recognizable prints are what make her line so popular. Hoffman’s collection celebrates life and spirituality from the designs to the makeup. Her runway makeup inspires a tribal ideal that reflects strong and yet feminine women showing their individuality. Bringing her creations to the runway is a huge insight into what we can look for summer season 2012.

Hoffman’s constant travel excursions and her inane talent for mixing patterns inspired her collection with explorations of Egyptian ruins, creating a new bold and colorful prints including, “Totem,” “King Tut,” “Ibis,” “Lotus,” “Stripes,” ”Vees,” “Tiki,” and “Cheetah.” The collection also includes an array of beautiful solid colors from white, bright coral, peacock blue and black. Her swim styles include classic popular shapes, such as the V-Wire, classic side-tie and 4 strap bikinis (my favorite), as well as new shapes with color-

ful embroidery. From the maxi dresses to the bikini tops, I think I fell in love with every piece of her swim collection. I also loved the silk mere loose knit Baja sweater and her colorful canvas beach bags in Ibis and Tut prints, shown with an ivy rope bag and a pom-pom bag. Mara’s models, as always, were styled consistently with brilliant and trendy fishbone braided plaits created by Elsa Canedo for TRESemmé and hot pink tribal makeup by Lottie for Make Up Forever.Although the excitement radiated backstage and onstage, the real party happened after the show at the W Hotel in South Beach. Joining the crowd in a vibrant after party, Mara Hoffman was there in person to mingle with the VIP guests alongside emerging designer and reality TV star Whitney Port and 90210′s Shenae Grimes. Walking down the red carpet, Mara Hoffman had a lot to celebrate after her show, not only for putting on an outstanding fashion show, but also for the launch of her own unique design on the Limited

Edition Skintimate Cans. Soon after Mara Hoffman graced her way into the party, Whitney and Shenae were not far behind (after indulging in some goodies at Stella’s Sweet Shoppe) as they posed together for a few photo ops. As Whitney made her way alone back to her private cabana, Shenae Grimes had no problem snuggling close to her new boyfriend, DJ Brendan Fallis, to sneak in a few pictures.

With a growing crowd surrounding the pool for an energetic synchronized swimming performance, lining up at the bars for a UV Coconut and Zico cocktail, and enjoying the company of friends in a spacey cabana, the event was a perfect ending to the evening and a perfect start to the night. With live performances by DJ sensations Nervo, Mia Moretti and Caitlin Moe, there was nothing short of groundbreaking at this party, which leaves me saying, “I can’t wait until next year!” <

> Our great city has no shortage of competent lawyers practicing their trade but we thought it would be interesting and informative to present a sampling of law professionals in our midst who represent a diverse range of expertise in practicing their specialties. Most states typically require a four-year undergraduate degree, followed by another three years, and usually at an American Bar Association accredited law school, to earn a Juris Doctor degree. All states require prospective lawyers to take and pass a written Bar examination in order to be licensed. Somewhat surprisingly, some states allow law students to study in law offices as opposed to accredited law schools and a few others allow students to study through correspondence schools. Please rest assured that all of the attorneys being profiled have successfully completed their educational and Florida Bar requirements with a high level of achievement, compiling a cumulative list of notable industry awards, recognition and honors over the years. Our list of attorneys represent a wide range of legal practice to include eminent domain (land acquisition, etc.) criminal matters, appellate law, workers’ compensation and employment law (insurance claims, discrimination, intellectual property protection), domestic litigation (divorce, alimony, spousal & child support), commercial (business disputes, corporate organization, etc.) and constitutional & governmental law. <

The firm has a vast array of experience representing clients from Windermere to the Markham Woods Corridor in Longwood. Whether it’s an individual with one outstanding credit card debt or a couple with hundreds of thousands of dollars in unsecured debt; from fighting the foreclosure of condos worth $50,000 or homes worth millions of dollars, David has seen it all. Each file is unique and the issues often vary from case to case. “We assure all of our clients that no matter how upsetting and embarrassing their financial predicament may be, that they will not be judged within the confines of our office”, says David. The issues involved with foreclosure cases and bankruptcy matters can be highly complex. In recent years, foreclosure filings have increased significantly as have actions to collect on past due debts. David claims, “The improprieties within many of these cases are alarming yet not uncommon. Most consumers would be shocked to learn of the bogus and fraudulent documentation many banks and creditors submit to the Courts”. It’s ex-

tremely important that consumers enlist the help of an experienced attorney who has the background necessary to protect them. The Borack Law Group has an established track record of defending clients in the area of Mortgage Securitization and Personal Bankruptcy Defense. At The Borack Law Group, “we have your back” is much more than just a catchy tagline, it’s our fundamental, core philosophy. The prospect of facing a foreclosure suit or having to file for bankruptcy protection are highly sensitive and emotional issues. Navigating through the shark infested waters alone can be a daunting and scary process. Fortunately for the firm’s clients, they won’t have to. Unlike many of the foreclosure defense and bankruptcy mills around town, Borack’s team holds its client’s hands from beginning to end. David says, “I like to think of our firm as a place where everyone knows your name” borrowing from the line that made the 80’s sitcom, Cheers so famous. The firm offers free consultations where potential clients have the opportunity to sit down with David and his team to discuss their problems and concerns in great detail. Barbara Coenson Estate Planning, Wills and Trusts, Probate, Elder Law, Business Law Read more at: StyleToMe.com

> Estate planning, wills, and trusts is about protecting and preserving assets during life and passing property to loved ones at death. Attorney Barbara Coenson would know. She works with many families to develop estate plans that preserve wealth, provide care for loved ones, shelter assets, reduce tax liability, and control costs. Barbara practices at Coenson Law, a firm she started with a vision to bring distinctive personal service to the practice of law. Her goal: to have a positive impact on people’s lives and their families. That is one reason Barbara practices in the area of estate planning. She wants to help people build a future that protects themselves, their family, and their finances. Most people are familiar with last wills and testaments; however, according to Barbara, a will is just not good enough in many cases. A will tells the probate court who will receive property at death, who will care for minor children, who will administer the estate, and more. A court supervised probate proceeding can continue for eight months to a year or longer and can increase the cost to administer an estate. And, the administration of an estate in probate may fail to take advantage of tax savings and present challenges to beneficiaries with creditor or other personal problems. Barbara finds many people want to avoid probate. Property held in a trust can pass to loved ones without court involvement. Additionally, assets can be held in trust until children and grandchildren are old enough to receive their inheritance responsibly. A trust can protect

children’s inheritances if a spouse remarries; a trust also can ensure children by a previous marriage do not lose their inheritance. A trust can provide tax advantages, and more When designing an estate plan, Barbara listens carefully to understand personal goals, learns about family dynamics, and considers age, health, type of property, and amount of wealth in the estate to create a customized plan. Different types of trusts can be incorporated into an estate plan depending on a person’s special circumstances. The most common trust is the revocable trust; yet, many other trusts can be instrumental in attaining estate planning goals. These include irrevocable trusts, life insurance trusts, special needs trusts, testamentary trusts, credit shelter trusts, charitable trusts, and more. Barbara also practices Elder Law and Business Law, which is important for estate planning purposes. Business owners and seniors can present unique challenges when developing estate plans. Barbara entered the practice of law after 20 years in the corporate world. She earned her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Florida’s College of Law. Barbara also holds a Master’s degree, summa cum laude, in Business Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. She is active in the community including Board Member and Charitable Giving Chair of Lake Mary Rotary, Board Member and Planned Giving Advisory Board Chair of Cornerstone Hospice Foundation, Board Member of the Sanford Chamber and past Chair of the Elder Law Committee of the Orange County Bar Association. <

> As managing shareholder of the law firm Brown, Garganese, Weiss & D’Agresta, P.A., Anthony Garganese, along with his fellow shareholders Usher L. Brown, Jeffrey Weiss and Suzanne D’Agresta, has established one of Orlando’s Pre-Eminent Law Firms, as recognized by Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register. The firm counsels clients throughout Central Florida and the entire State of Florida. For the last 18 years, Anthony has dedicated his practice to representing government and private clients on a wide array of complex and challenging transactional and litigation matters. During that time, Anthony has served as the city attorney for several cities in Central Florida. Being a successful city attorney requires a comprehensive understanding of a variety of practice areas. Anthony explains: “My practice is from A to Z. Adult entertainment to zoning and everything in between.” On any given day, Anthony and other members of the firm counsel the firm’s government clients on complex constitutional issues involving the First Amendment, equal protection, and property rights, as well as zoning and land development issues. “Municipal lawyers must adapt to handling a variety of legal matters. Municipal lawyers are the last of the true general practitioners in the practice of law,” he remarks. Anthony is certified by the Florida bar as a specialist in city, county and local government law and is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. In addition, he serves on the steering committee for the Florida Municipal Attorney’s Association. He has lectured numerous times to attorneys, elected officials, and government employees regarding governmental law issues. Anthony has also been recognized by Best Lawyers in America, Florida Super Lawyers, and Florida Trends “Legal Elite” in the

practice area of government law. In 2007, the Florida League of Cities named Anthony City Attorney of the Year for his public service and efforts representing his cities. The skills Anthony and other members of his firm have developed representing cities and other governmental entities also enable Anthony and the firm to represent individual and business clients that need a very experienced government lawyer. For example, one segment of Anthony’s practice includes counseling private developers on navigating the challenging maze of state and local government regulations that govern land development and zoning in the State of Florida. Additionally, Anthony works closely with other members of his firm to provide a wide range of other legal services. He remarks, “We are very proud of the fact that our firm has assembled a core group of very talented and dedicated attorneys and legal staff that have the ability to handle a variety of sophisticated matters for our diverse client base.” The firm represents individuals and businesses in the following types of matters: business and contract disputes; business organization and transactions; land development and zoning matters; management of employment issues; issues involving education law; issues involving charter schools; insurance coverage disputes; insurance defense; community and home owner association law; commercial real estate; landlord and tenant issues; and state and federal court civil litigation and appeals in all of the foregoing areas. <

Suzanne Barto Hill Commercial Litigation Photo by Sven J. Bode Read more at: StyleToMe.com

> When Suzanne Barto Hill was in law school, she never thought about becoming a litigator until she competed in the University of Florida Trial Competition and won. As a result, she landed a job offer from Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell, who sponsored the competition. Twenty two years later at the same firm, Suzanne is representing clients in complex commercial litigation including employment law and intellectual property litigation. “Commercial litigation seemed like a natural fit for me because of my finance degree,” she explains. “Litigation takes you in so many different directions. There are so many variables unique to each case, so you have to always expect the unexpected. It’s definitely not a cookie-cutter type of practice.” Suzanne earned her law degree, with honors, from the University of Florida College of law, where she also went for undergrad and graduated with high honors. Her practice includes cases involving contract disputes, fraud, tortious interference, breach of fiduciary duties, commercial collections, patent, trademark and copyright disputes, professional liability and general employment matters. “The challenge is what I enjoy most about commercial cases,” she says. “While many of the legal principles remain the same, I am often learning about new or unique matters. Early in my career, I was defending an accountant, and had to learn all about creating genetically superior large mouth bass. Anyone who knows me knows I know nothing about fish (except the kind I like to eat). That was a very interesting case.” In commercial litigation, “it is extremely important to identify the critical issues and fight the right battles. It can certainly be a lot of pressure, but that makes it exciting.” Suzanne is an AV-rated attorney and a member of the Defense Research Institute, American Bar Association and Professional Liability Underwriters Society. Like many lawyers, Suzanne has embraced modern technology to manage her practice.

Any given week, she can be at a hearing in Jacksonville or a trial in Miami and relies on technology to communicate with her clients and office. “Today’s technology makes information so much more readily available. I do a lot of traveling, and it’s great to take my office with me on a laptop.” When not practicing law, Suzanne is an avid runner and enjoys cooking, traveling, watching the Gators, and spending time with her husband Chris (who is also a lawyer) and their two dogs. Travis Hollifield women’s workplace legal needs Read more at: StyleToMe.com

> Hollifield Legal Centre is a private law firm focusing on women’s workplace legal needs. “Our vision is to champion the legal, social and economic rights of women by providing representation in all Florida state and federal courts of law,” says Hollifield. The firm’s legal services are offered to assist working women with employment law issues such as: • Sexual harassment • Pregnancy discrimination • Family and Medical Leave Act claims • Retaliation • Severance Agreements “When I first started practicing employment law I noticed that many statutes either exclusively or disproportionately affected women. At the time, there weren’t any attorneys focusing on these cases specifically,” says Travis Hollifield. “I created Hollifield Legal Centre to empower women facing difficulties with employers in workplace settings.” Achieving the goals of clients effectively and discreetly is Hollifield’s primary concern. At the Centre, clients are treated with respect, compassion and sensitivity in a confidential and nurturing environment particularly attuned to the needs of working women.

“Many times my clients are in vulnerable positions such as a single mother whose job is her and her children’s lifeline. There is often a great deal of economic disruption and emotional distress that goes along with improper separations of employment,” says Hollifield. Mr. Hollifield is a Central Florida native who, after graduating from Winter Park High School, embarked on a five-year career in the broadcasting business as an on-air personality known as Travis McKay. His big break

came when he was hired by Z100 in New York City where he worked on the “The Z Morning Zoo” program. While at Z-100, Hollifield was a card carrying member of the American Federation of Radio and Television Artists (AFTRA) union where he first developed his interest in worker’s rights. Despite his success in radio, Hollifield craved more intellectual challenges so he enrolled at UCF and later obtained his law degree at Nova Southeastern University. In addition to his employment law practice, Hollifield also litigates intellectual property cases to help protect the creative endeavors of businesses and individuals. “It’s a different kind of practice,” says Hollifield. “I guide clients so they can make a clearheaded decision about whether or not their or their competitors’ activities amount to copyright, trademark, or patent infringement or misappropriation of trade secrets.” Hollifield is also an adjunct law professor at Barry University’s law school in Orlando where he has taught intellectual property and entertainment law in recent years. In addition, Hollifield has maintained a busy mediation practice since becoming a Florida Supreme Court certified Circuit Civil Mediator. “Mediation is altogether different than litigating as an advocate,” Hollifield noted. “As a mediator, I act as a neutral and help parties make rational decisions regarding whether to settle their claims before trial.” Hollifield is an enthusiastic supporter of UCF athletics and the Orlando Magic. Hollifield’s wife Audra, is the Vice President of Human Resources and Administrative Services for the Orlando Magic. The Hollifields live in Orlando with their two lovable English bulldogs Beeman and Burlington. <

While representing the United States he prosecuted all types of cases including Medicare fraud, tax evasion, wire and mail fraud, fraud against the government, drugs and the murder of the Gotha Postmaster. The opportunity to prosecute these and other crimes provided Mr. Horwitz a solid basis to vigorously defend people under investigation for or charged with federal crimes. Since 1980, Mark has been in private practice in Orlando. He has defended people in Orlando and other areas of Florida and the United States. Defending complex federal white collar crimes has been a major part of his practice. He has also defended clients in state criminal matters including white collar crimes, theft, bribery and state sales tax. In non-white collar cases, he has defended clients in matters involving vehicular homicide, murder, drugs and sex crimes. Mark Horwitz is certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a Criminal Trial Advocate and by the Florida Bar as a specialist in Criminal Trial Law. He has the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards by Martindale-Hubbel. In addition to the preeminent rating in Martindale-Hubbel, he is listed in Best Lawyers in America. Mr. Horwitz is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Mr. Horwitz believes that defending a person’s liberty is the most important responsibility an attorney can undertake. In protecting a client’s freedom, Mark’s philosophy is that no stone is left unturned, all facts are thoroughly investigated, legal issues fully developed and all actions legally and ethically possible are undertaken for the defense. The lawyers and paralegals that work at the Horwitz firm help him carry out these principles.

at developing the facts to convince law enforcement and prosecutors that criminal charges are not warranted. By preventing criminal charges, the client is able to avoid the humiliation and emotional stress associated with indictment and arrest. In some cases it is not possible to prevent the filing of criminal charges. In those situations the pre-arrest defense investigation allows for a stronger defense at trial. It is not unusual to deal with tens of thousands of documents and hundreds of gigabytes of computer data in white collar cases. To control such massive amounts of evidence, Horwitz utilizes the paralegals and the attorneys that work in his firm as well as current technology. While cutting edge technology is important, Mark believes that there is no substitute for experience, hard work and diligence to accomplish the goal of defending liberty. < Bar Admissions

Richard Milian Eminent Domain Attorney Photo by Sven J. Bode Read more at: StyleToMe.com

> Since graduating from the University of Florida Levin College of Law nearly 25 years ago, Richard Milian has been practicing in the area of eminent domain and property rights with one of Florida’s leading law firms, Broad and Cassel. As co-chair of the firm’s Eminent Domain Practice Group, Mr. Milian leads a team of attorneys in eight offices across the state, handling the acquisition of property in Florida’s most sought after public projects. From road widening projects and the construction of schools, to the creation of public parks and utility projects, Mr. Milian has successfully managed both sides of eminent domain matters, from the acquisition of property for governmental agencies to protecting property owner’s rights. Early on in his career, Mr. Milian represented governmental entities in acquiring property for the construction of public projects. He has represented numerous expressway authorities throughout the state, including the Orlando/Orange County Expressway Authority, in which he led efforts to complete the Western Beltway project, which required the acquisition of 167 parcels of property worth $87 million. This project represented the largest ongoing condemnation project in Florida. He has also represented the authority on other significant highway projects, including the Goldenrod Extension, the Maitland Extension, and the 408 Widening Project. Mr. Milian also represented several counties in acquiring land necessary for school projects, including representing the Orange County Public School Board in acquiring land necessary for the remodeling of Boone High School.

While Mr. Milian still represents some governmental authorities, he now mainly represents landowners across the State of Florida, from the western panhandle to Key West. He has represented almost every type of property owner from single family homeowners, to owners of convenience stores, shopping centers, restaurants, subdivision developers and large developments of regional impact. Representing hundreds of landowners in eminent domain cases throughout Florida, Mr. Milian has been involved in many high profile landowner cases. Recently, Mr. Milian represented landowners of property needed for the construction of the new Amway Arena and for countless local road projects. According to Mr. Milian, “when representing property owners in an eminent domain case, the owner’s rights must be zealously protected as property is being acquired without their consent. Under Florida law, the condemning authority must pay the property owner full and fair compensation and also pay the landowner’s attorneys’ fees and experts costs, such as appraisal fees”. Mr. Milian has obtained an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell, a mark of distinction only achieved by five percent of attorneys in the State of Florida. He has also been selected among Florida’s “Legal Elite” by Florida Trend magazine. Thomas A. Moore Workers’ Compensation Defense Lawyer Photo by Sven J. Bode Read more at: StyleToMe.com

> Few people have more Central Florida workers’ compensation experience than attorney Thomas A. Moore. Tom began defending Florida employers in 1979 after graduating from Cumberland School of Law, Birmingham, Alabama. He earned Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating, AV, and in 1988 became one of the first Florida Bar Board Certified Workers’ Compensation attorneys. Since then, Tom, and his firm, Moore, Peterson & Zeitler, P.A. have handled thousands of cases, from one of the nation’s first HIV claims and sick building syndrome allegations to strains and sprains. Many of the major public and private employers in Central Florida are among the firm’s clients, including school boards, construction companies, hospitals, national retailers, and several employee leasing services. In 2011 Tom was recognized as a Florida Super Lawyer for the fifth straight year. Asked the firm’s philosophy, Tom’s reply was focused,“Be ethical, direct, knowledgeable and prepared.” He elaborated, “Every employer and every case deserves individual attention, not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. Employers have varying cost, time, communication and other needs, which must be recognized and met from the outset. By listening to our clients and applying creative, innovative solutions, we have been able to build long term partnerships. We are grateful to all of our many clients, some of whom we have represented for more than 20 years.” “There are more opportunities now than ever before for employers who present a strong case to obtain a good result. Medical tests like magnetic resonance imaging, func-

tional capacity evaluations and nerve conduction velocity studies often help determine the severity of an injury. We have a community of many outstanding physicians who are familiar with the workers’ compensation system and employers’ needs. Often thorough discovery will uncover facts which can improve the outlook of a case. In one case recently handled by our firm, an adverse expert’s opinion was changed to our client’s favor when the expert was provided a more complete history revealed by our background investigation. Because cases turn on their particular facts and circumstances, an attorney must identify the specific medical and legal issues early and resolve the matter efficiently, but always be prepared for trial.” When he’s not representing Central Florida employers, Tom, an Orlando native, husband and father of two, shares his legal skills with Orange County middle and high school students. Since 2001 he has worked with the Orange County Teen Court program as a mentor and presiding judge. “The program gives minors first hand experience with our justice system. Trained students prosecute and defend first time offenders before a jury of their peers. All of the participants, including the attorneys, defendants, clerks and jurors, are 11 to 17 years old. The program is an excellent opportunity for young adults to take responsibility, and learn to make better decisions under the guidance of a presiding adult judge.” In 2011, Tom received the Judge Thomas J. Kirk Founders Award for his service to the Orange County Teen Court. No matter where you find him, Tom Moore is one of Orlando’s outstanding attorneys. <

Lisa A. G. Smith Family Law Attorney Read more at: StyleToMe.com

> If it seems like Lisa is at home at her desk, there is good reason. Her office is minutes away from the hospital where she and her three daughters were born, around the corner from her childhood home, and up the street from the church where she and her children were baptized. Lisa is a hometown girl in the truest sense of the word and very proud of it. “This community has been wonderfully supportive of me, and I feel I can give back by being the best advocate and counselor I can for my clients,” says Lisa on the day I met with her. Lisa, a family law attorney with The Aikin Family Law Group, handles cases involving divorce, paternity, support, custody, modifications, and prenuptial agreements. She has earned the respect of her peers and clients over the years reflected by such honors as being selected as a member of the “Best of the Bar” by The Orlando Business Journal and being “AV” Preeminent Rated by Martindale Hubbell, the highest ranking achievable. The youngest of seventeen children from a blended family, Lisa attended Georgetown University but had never planned on becoming an attorney. However, after working for a Washington, D.C. law firm, she became more interested in this field of study and ultimately returned to her home state to attend the University of Florida College of

Law. While there, she served as a Senior Editor of the Florida Law Review and the president of the student bar association. “I have been practicing family law exclusively for over ten years now, and I have seen how easily divorcing couples can become lost in the ‘he said/she said’ of the situation. I personally see it as part of my job to redirect these clients towards the ‘big picture’ in their cases, to be a problem solver, and to achieve the best result for my client.” “It is an honor to be a trusted source of advice with regard to something as personal as a client’s family. But the client has to understand that there will come a time when the case is over and the attorneys will not be involved anymore. It is not realistic that the parties will forever secure approval from an attorney before making their life decisions. So, while I enjoy advocating for clients at trial, I also am a firm believer in conflict resolution through less litigious means, such as mediation and collaborative law. These alternatives are not easy by any means. They are hard work. But I truly believe these alternatives to litigation allow couples to maintain a higher level of civility which, in turn, increases the chance of moving forward in a positive co-parenting relationship.”<

> Before attending Stetson School of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida, Sharon taught elementary school for nine (9) years. After returning to Gainesville, Florida, her hometown, Sharon found that teachers were not in great demand. At that time, there were many more teachers than available teaching positions. While waiting for a teaching position to open, Sharon began a course program at Sante Fe Community College. The two (2) year program resulted in a degree as a paralegal. It was at Sante Fe Community College that Sharon’s love of researching and writing had its roots.

worked for Rumberger, Kirk, and Caldwell, P. A., in Orlando. At Rumberger, Kirk, she began an appellate department, which was the first such department in any law firm in Florida. Now, most large law firms have an appellate department thanks, in large part, to Rumberger, Kirk’s vision of the future. Prior to working with Rumberger, Kirk, Sharon was an Assistant Attorney General working in the West Palm Beach Criminal Appeal office. Her work as an Assistant Attorney General resulted in her ability to research and draft briefs in a very short manner due to the workload of each Assistant Attorney General. Normally, the drafts of the legal briefs resulted in the final product that was ultimately filed with the court; there was no time to edit and redraft. Such was an invaluable experience. Due to her work experience, Sharon is proficient in representing clients in both civil and criminal cases. There is one aspect of Sharon’s practice that has resulted in her proudest moments. She has been able to receive the release of eight (8) innocent inmates from incarceration through the Clemency Board in Tallahassee. The granting of petitions for clemency are extremely rare and, therefore, extremely difficult to pursue. But the reward is worth all the time involved and the stress incurred: freedom for the unjustly incarcerated. <

The New Generation of Stem Cells By: Cathleen K. Bode Read more at: StyleToMe.com

> Andemariam Teklesenbet Beyene, a 36-year-old male from Africa, was faced with a life-or-death decision when a cancerous tumor took over his trachea.Traditional methods of treatment were failing, such as chemotherapy and radiation, so he turned to Paolo Macchiarini, a thoracic surgeon with prior success in the field of regenerative medicine. At the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Macchiarini built a synthetic trachea by combining a custom-built scaffold with Andemariam’s stem cells, which were retrieved through his bone marrow. The entire process took less than one week. The advantage in this type of surgery is speed- the stem cells formed a new trachea in two days and Andemariam never had to depend on a donor for his organ. Furthermore, he did not face the possibility of his body rejecting a foreign object. Now, after more than a month since receiving a new trachea, Andemariam is cancer free and can cough, breathe, and most importantly, live.

styletome.com

Though Andemariam’s surgery was the first of its kind, regenerative medicine has previously helped people with various conditions. Regenerative medicine, or stem cell therapy, refers to treatment through the use of specially grown tissues and cells, lab-made compounds and artificial organs. Stem cells, particularly embryonic stem cells, are highly beneficial in regenerative medicine because they hold the potential to make several hundred types of cells in the human body. Although the use of stem cell therapy seems to show promise, stem cell research creates controversy because of its use of human embryos. In order to create an embryonic stem cell line, the embryo is destroyed. Current research is performed only on excess embryos from in vitro fertilization clinics, but the concept of destroying life is heavily debated in regards to stem cell therapy. Controversy surrounding the topic can also be seen in the government, where funding for stem cell research has not always been available. In 1996, legislation passed prohibiting the use of taxpayers’ dollars to fund research of embryonic stem cells until President Obama removed the limitations in 2009. “Advances over the past decade in this promising scientific field have been encouraging, leading to broad agreement in the scientific community that the research should be supported by Federal funds,” Obama stated in Executive Order 13505, and in July 27, 2011 a lawsuit that threatened the Obama administration’s policy for expanded funding for stem cell research was thrown out.

New research shows that adult stem cells, which are found in tissues such as bone marrow and in umbilical cords, are more versatile than once thought to be. This breakthrough helps to ease the tension surrounding stem cell research. It also allows scientists to move closer to applying stem cell therapy to cure conditions. According to its website, The National Institutes of Health funded its first basic research study on human embryonic stem cells in 2002. Since then, biotechnology companies have been developing stem cell based human therapies, including spinal cord and retinal treatments. What benefits stem cell therapy will provide, may be a host of possibilities ranging from a cure for Alzheimer’s disease to repairing complex organs such as the heart. Similar to the nature of regenerative therapy, the benefits could be endless. Please tune in next month for our continuous coverage on amazing new stem cell therapy.A division of healthcare giant Merck, with positive results, tested a cutting edge technology used to generate fat, or adipose, stem cells. In October we will take an in-depth look into the use of one’s own fat to extract stem cells, to be then used by re-injecting it to the afflicted area or through Intravenous (IV) to heal and/or repair. <

7 Makeup Trends for Fall By: Cathleen K. Bode • Credits: Allison Otis Read more at: StyleToMe.com

1. Smoldering Metallic Eyes

Metallic eyes popped up on runways from Roberto Cavalli to Armani Privé. Forget smoky. This finish is smoldering. Define the eyes with black cream liner and apply the color up to the brows for a lust-worthy look. 2. Wine-Stained Pout

While red lipstick is a perennial classic, designers opted for its darker cousin maroon. The wine-stained lip showed up in Missoni’s and Gucci’s fall runway shows. Missoni tempered the bold lip with a matte finish and a high-gloss lid for a lacquered effect, whereas Gucci emphasized the color with a shiny gloss and a bare eye. 3. Monochrome Eyes and Lips

7

Nothing says Hollywood glamour quite like a bouncy blowout and soft, smoky-eyes. A hot commodity on the fall runway, Chloé and Armani Privé both channeled this classic approach.

To achieve this look, opt for shimmery amber to apply above and below the lash line, a matte lip, and a hint of illuminating powder. 4. Dramatic Lashes

Less can be more, but not when it comes to lashes. We’re all about the bigger the better. Lanvin downplayed the skin, opting for a natural, clear complexion with dramatic eyes. For extra drama, coat lashes with mascara, comb through while wet, and repeat.

6. Windswept Cheeks

Forgo heavy blush in favor of flawless skin and a natural flush. Michael Kors, whose simplistic approach to makeup mirrors his restrained approach to his all-American sportswear, channeled this style in his fall runway show. To achieve this look, choose a blush that complements your skin tone, smile to accentuate your facial contours, and dab the pigment onto the apples of your cheeks toward your temples. 7. Glossy Lids

5. Cat Eye

Jill Sander experimented with a novel approach to the tried-and-true cat eye to pair with her floral print and knitwear. Makeup artist Peter Philips penciled a thin line of metallic green-blue liner onto models’ upper lash lines for a dramatic finish. Use an angled eyeliner brush and your favorite color for a similar style.

Glossy hair, glossy lips, glossy eyelids? Yes, accentuate your eyes with glossy lids. Borrowed from Donna Karan and Missoni, this trend works with or without eye shadow. Achieve this effect by dabbing Vaseline over your shadow.<

a Board Certified Dermatologist, I specialize in providing treatments that improve the skin’s appearance and restore its underlying structure by replacing volume, stimulating collagen, and softening wrinkles. My overall philosophy? “Less is more.” My goal? “Subtle and natural looking results that allow people to look like themselves – only younger and more refreshed.” Let’s face it, we are all aging! Thanks to the many non-surgical choices now available… I do believe it’s easier to age gradually and gracefully without looking “over-done.”

Q: What cosmetic procedures are in highest demand in your office?

non-surgical cosmetic procedures every day, Botox® is always the most sought after treatment due to its consistent results and relatively affordable price point. However, more recently, my patients have been excited about Scultpra® (a relatively new injectable) and for good reason. The results we have been able to achieve are just incredible, longer lasting, and unlike those of any other product currently on the market. Visit sculptraaesthetic. com to learn more.

are two key determinants in how others perceive your age. The first being the texture of your skin and the second, wrinkles. In order to get your skin looking and feeling its best, it is important to select procedures that target both factors. The procedures I find to be most effective in my experience in addressing both wrinkles and skin tone are Botox® and a series of Photofacials using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). Botox® is a quick fix with results that tend to soften wrinkles leaving the skin looking smoother and more relaxed while Photofacials are a homerun for addressing sun damage and age spots. Want your glow back? Treat yourself to these two procedures and you’ll be back on the road to healthy and more radiant skin.

Q: I am now in my early 40’s and have noticed that my skin is beginning to look dull. What procedure(s) do you recommend to help me get my “glow” back?

Presenting “Dralion” Cirque du Soleil Orlando Native Takes Flight By: Talitha Vickers Read more at: StyleToMe.com

> Most 12 year old girls toss around the idea of what they want to be when they grow up…a doctor, lawyer, teacher, model, pop star or maybe an actress but Amanda Orozco was determined to soar to new heights at an early age. While most Florida pre-teens spend their summers taking in the sun at the beach, Orozco followed a wave of inspiration that began when her parents purchased a ticket for her to see Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba performing in Florida. Little did they know that performance would open up a whole new world for their little girl who is now one of the stars of Dralion’s debut performance in her hometown of Orlando. Dralion fuses the multidisciplinary approach of Cirque du Soleil with the 3,000-year-old tradition of Chinese acrobatic arts. In an arena where performers (many of whom are from Chinese or Russian decent) typically pass down their artistic abilities from generation to generation, Orozco’s childhood dream of joining this gravity-defying

circus did not seem accessible at first glance (there are no jugglers, magicians, acrobats or fire eaters in her family.) Nevertheless, Orozco says “I was enamored by it and I told my mom right then and there on my 12th birthday that this [La Nouba] is what I want to do with my life.” After five years of intense dance training and four years in Montreal Canada at École Nationale de Cirque (National Circus School) the little girl from the Sunshine State ironically stars as Azala who is guardian of the sun and immortality as goddess of the Air. “Overall I feel super proud yet honored to be performing Dralion in my hometown,” said Orozco. Dralion is derived from two creatures the dragon which symbolizes the East and the lion which symbolizes the West. In the quest for peace and harmony the world of Dralion blends cultures so that man and nature are one and balance is achieved. As one of four elements Orozco’s character Azala shares the spotlight with Gaya the goddess of Earth, Oceane the goddess of Water, and

Yao for Fire who symbolizes both good and evil as he commands the rhythm of the show. Each element is represented by their own unique color with custom-made costumes inspired from China, Africa and India. Blue identifies Air, red is for Fire, ochre symbolizes Earth, and green represents Water. When the four elements achieve unity it is simply breathtaking. Accompanying the remarkably impressive feats of the performers, including the hilarious clowns, are the blends of Western and Eastern sounds executed by what feels like a full-sized 100 player orchestra. Surprisingly, a small symphony of six musicians and two singers add emotion and breathe life into Dralion as they perform live for every performance. In Dralion’s jaw dropping execution of precise movement, radiant patterns and perfectly textured sound the four elements take on human form inspired by Eastern philosophy and it’s never ending quest for harmony between humans and nature. To accomplish this mind-boggling feat our

very own Orlando star, Orozco, joins 50 international acrobats, musicians and singers to conduct a cohesive fusion of art that is sure to render you speechless. Since Orozco’s character spends a lot of time in the air she is initially hidden from view. Orozco says it is the quiet moments above the crowd that she enjoys the most as she takes in the birds-eye view of the expressions and the joy that register on the faces of children and adults alike. “It’s my favorite part of my job,” says Orozco “to inspire fire and passion into other young girls all over the world. It’s a dream come true.” To those who want to follow in her footsteps Orozco says, “Go for it and let nothing hold you back from taking flight of your dreams. Anything you put your mind to do you can succeed in.” Success for Orozco came with hard fought challenges the first of which was moving away from her parents to another country for training. Orozco says, “The National Cir-

cus School in Canada is a prestigious facility. The training is very intense between six and ten hours a day. It’s physically strenuous but also equally mentally strenuous because the training is presented in French but, it is rewarding when you do see progress.” Needless to say Orozco is now fluent in French and has brought back several rich cultures to share with her friends and family. When the ensemble dines together it is not out of the ordinary to hear four to five different languages being spoken. For Orozco that is one of many fascinating features of her job, the ability to learn about different cultures and ultimately be united through the common thread of performing which ultimately weaves one strong unit to bring the unimaginable dream to life through Dralion. Performance dates: September 21-25 at UCF Arena. Only eight performances Tickets are available at: www.cirquedusoleil. com/dralion or by calling 1-800-745-3000<

Are Professional Athletes the Next Endangered Species? Understanding the NFL, NBA and possibly MLB Lockouts By: Catherina Watters, Esq. Chang Watters Group, P.A. Read more at: StyleToMe.com

> This has been quite a year for sports fans. With the NFL locking out its players for 4 ½ months prior to reaching a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, the NBA following suit and MLB on the horizon, many people are wondering what is going on in the world of professional sports? After all, our national past times provide the much needed comfort and distraction during our darkest hours. Remember how the New Orleans community devastated by Hurricane Katrina rallied behind the Saints? And how we looked to our sports heroes to give us hope after the tragic events of 9/11? Now in the midst of the toughest economic crisis since the Great Depression, with homeowners facing over 1 million foreclosures in 2010 with even more projected for this year, and over 14 million Americans currently unemployed, we need our athletes more than ever.

asset (themselves), through guaranteed contracts, health and safety measures and retirement and disability benefits.

We need to see if Michael Vick, the new franchise player in Philly, can keep that positive momentum going, if Tom Brady with new teammates Ochocinco and Haynesworth can get the Patriots back on track for their dynasty run, and if the Heat’s Big Three, James,Wade and Bosch, will bring the first of their eight boldly predicted championships to Miami.

Currently there is no salary cap in MLB, which means a player can make as much money as a team is willing to give. MLB owners will have to convince its players that a cap is best for everyone. With players such as A-Rod making $32 million this season and 24 others making between $15 million and $27 million, that won’t be an easy task. NBA players entertaining enticing offers to play overseas are expected to put up a good fight as well. Let’s hope athletes and owners see the bigger picture and allow professional sports to thrive. <

The NFL’s gross revenues for 2010 were estimated at $9 billion, MLB at $7 billon, and the NBA finishing third at $4 billon. With all that money on the table, what is there to argue about? Is greed taking over or is there something deeper at stake? Like any other business, there are financial and legal components involved in operating a sports franchise. Owners look to maximize return on their investments (their players), increase profit margins by getting a larger piece of the pie (total revenues), and minimize risk by placing limitations on guaranteed contracts. Players strive to maximize their value through free agency and protect their most valuable

styletome.com

Owners contend that player salaries have gotten out of control. The NFL placed a cap on rookie salaries which was felt by first round draft pick Cam Newton who signed a four year $22 million contract compared to last year’s Sam Bradford, who signed a $76 million contract, $50 million of it guaranteed. This was a concession made by athletes who make substantially less than their counterparts in the NBA and MLB, have an average career span of 3 ½ years, rarely see guaranteed money, and face lifelong injuries, which often result in permanent disabilities. These athletes are suffering brain aneurysms and dying of heart attacks by their early forties, long before they have the opportunity to collect their pensions.

> Bernie Madoff is, or was, a celebrity all right, but the kind of celebrity you’ll see in a lineup rather than on the silver screen. In the “roaring early 90’s” Madoff was the talk of the financial world. In March 2009, he pleaded guilty to 11 federal felonies and admitted to turning his wealth management business into a massive Ponzi scheme that defrauded thousands of investors, out of billions of dollars. In light of such fraud, how can investors, large and small, invest with confidence and know that they are dealing with a reputable advisor?

How Can You Invest With Confidence? Stargazing: Inside the world of Private Wealth Management

One way is to research the company and individual advisor you are considering dealing with, it’s pretty simple these days. I happen to be affiliated with Ameritas Investment Corp (AIC), which holds us accountable through annual audits and regular compliance approvals. During our annual audit, auditors have access to our business and personal bank records to ensure that our clients’ checks have not been cashed. In addition, we are subject to surprise audits by FINRA, Ameritas Investment Corp’s governing body. Audits are designed to ensure that each affiliated financial advisor adheres to the rules and regulations determined by the industry for the protection of investors. We do not “custody” assets. This is a very important point to note. An advisor has custody of assets when he/she has possession of clients funds or securities, or has any authority to obtain them. We do not hold your assets, nor do you make checks payable to me. In essence, we never take possession of the money you plan to invest. We transmit your monies to the investment companies we have agreed to use for your personal situation.

of an investment that continues to generate regular, positive returns regardless of overall market conditions. Unregistered Investments: Ponzi schemes typically involve investments that have not been registered with state regulators. Registration is important because it provides investors with access to key information about the company’s management, products, services, and finances. Unlicensed sellers: Federal and state securities law requires investment professionals and their firms to be licensed or registered. Many Ponzi schemes involve unlicensed individuals or unregistered firms. Secretive and/or complex strategies: Avoiding investments you don’t understand or for which you can’t get complete information. Five questions to ask before investing

•Is the seller licensed? •Is the investment registered? •How does the risk compare with the rewards? Does it sound too good to be true? •Do I understand the investment? •Where can I turn for help? Aston Martin Targets Growth in China Read more at: StyleToMe.com

> Aston Martin is pressing ahead with ambitious growth plans for the brand in China after debuting the new Virage and Vantage S in the region and announcing plans for up to four new dealer sites over the next 12 months.

After first joining the market in 2008, Aston Martin has appointed dealers in Beijing, Chengdu, Hangzhou and Shanghai with more to come. The market will spearhead the company’s future growth in Asia having already taken the position as the British marque’s fastest growing Asia market with sales in 2010 up 25% on the previous year. Aston Martin Chief Executive, Dr Ulrich Bez said: “Now is the right time for us to accelerate our growth in China. We have taken our time to gradually establish the building blocks to ensure long-term stability for the

Aston Martin brand in the region and – encouraged by reaction from customers – it is right for us to grow our presence. “Clearly, China offers the largest emerging luxury market in the world and offers substantial growth potential for us while allowing us to remain exclusive and fulfilling our strategy of becoming less dependent on classic established (western) markets. “In conjunction with the investment in our dealership network we will develop a new dedicated organisation for China and establish a regional office in Shanghai.” After taking a steady and progressive approach since first introducing the Aston Martin brand to the Chinese market in 2008, strong interest and enthusiasm from a rapidly emerging luxury sports car market will see the company embark on the next stage of its growth plans for the region in 2011. The company is now actively pursuing plans to open up to four more dedicated dealership sites across China to meet growing demand in the region. Aston Martin’s Regional Director for Asia Pacific, Dr Matthew Bennett added:“In April we enjoyed a very successful Shanghai Auto Show where the new Virage, Vantage S and four-door Rapide made their Chinese debuts – as well as the flagship One-77 mak-

ing its first appearance in the region. During the show we saw considerable interest in our cars and a great enthusiasm for the Aston Martin brand from the Chinese public which gives us great encouragement. “In the strong and growing Chinese luxury market we look forward to providing an expanded, dedicated Aston Martin dealership network throughout the country to allow customers to enjoy the Aston Martin experience.” Further new products are being brought to the Chinese market over the coming weeks with the introduction of the new Virage,

The V8 Vantage S epitomises every attribute of the V8 Vantage and pushes the driver experience beyond what Aston Martin has offered before, characterised by a host of new driver-focussed features all designed to push the honed dynamics of the standard Vantage to a new benchmark level. Aston Martin’s own 4.7 litre V8 engine has been engineered to deliver peak power of 430 bhp (436 PS / 321 kW) at 7300 rpm and torque of 490 Nm (361 lb.ft) at 5000 rpm and is coupled with a new groundup developed Sportshift™ II transmission specifically designed for the Vantage S with seven short ratio gears to deliver the most engaging and intense driver involvement.

> Katy Perry definitely chose the correct title of her second album Teenage Dream. A natural performer, she speaks to her audience and captivates attention. She has an ability to light up a room, exhibits a playful attitude to any task while remaining abnormally humble despite her much deserved success. Currently making musical history, Katy is the first artist to maintain staying in the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 songs for 52 consecutive weeks. That’s an entire year. This artist was labeled the next big thing in 2004 and in 2011 it’s undoubtedly safe to say Katy Perry has arrived and firmly planted herself in the industry. Fashion forward, uniquely humorous (she showed up to the 2010 MTV movie awards with her husband Russell Brand’s face airbrushed on her finger nails since he couldn’t attend), and also has an incredible sense of self. When parent groups voted her too provocative to host Sesame Street she mocked herself in an SNL skit instead of throwing a celebrity hissy fit. The 2011 Grammy’s were just another family night out in the eyes of Mrs. Russell Brand. So much that she brought her 90-year-old grandmother with her customized glittery cane. Perhaps her style didn’t fall far from the family tree.

Determined from a young age for her enjoyment of singing to become her daily reality Katy knew her chance was out there. Her journey to success started at nine years old with her parents offering her vocal lessons. The chance to enhance her voice felt like a dream. Being raised in a strict Christian home where gospel music was the only music allowed, Katy sang in church the majority of her youth. She earned her opportunity to sing professionally when a couple of rock veterans heard her sing and brought her to Nashville to polish up her song writing skills. Under her given name of Katy Hudson, she released her self-titled album at the age of 15. Despite not achieving instant stardom Katy marched onward. After giving gospel enough of a chance, the time to venture to the City of Angels in hopes of reinventing the image and style of her musical ability had arrived. Splashing into 2008 with her official debut album One of the Boys, Katy had everyone curious. The hit song ‘I Kissed a Girl’ blew up bigger than imaginable. A fun, flirty ballad that any club wouldn’t have survived without blaring, it was a hello to the world. The number one spot in 30 countries was officially this 1950’s-esque, raven haired, stunning beauty’s place. was also now on everyone’s radar. Good times, good friends and the aftermath of a good night were a big focus in many of the songs. With her second album in 2010, ‘Teenage Dream’ proved to be just as fun but also provided a deeper look into Katy’s sincere side. With 45 award show wins, plenty of validation for the hard work devoted is obvious. Katy earns attention for her looks just as much as her music. Recognized for her enticing and artistically enhanced stage costumes and her retro-style form fitting street clothes, this starlet keeps the critics smiling and guessing at the planning of her ensembles. Her ability to dazzle whether on a red carpet or walking the shops in LA, Katy succeeds. Vintage pinup with a twist of classic lady is one way to interpret her style. Glitz, sequins, and ice cream cone bikini tops are another interpretation. Smurf blue hair is also listed on the fashion resume. Perhaps preparing for her role as Smurfette in the upcoming Smurf movie was easier for Katy than most. Safely said, nothing is considered too risky a look for this fashionably daring princess. Aside from her music and fashion choices, Katy’s love life drew attention as well. During the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, host Russell Brand continuously declared his hopes to the crowd, and a certain front row-sitting singer, of connecting with the beautiful Miss Perry. Blushing in the moment but clearly intrigued, within weeks the two were the “It” couple. Becoming engaged less than three months later, they disregarded the need for approval from skeptics. Tying the knot at the same place of their engagement in India in October of 2010 solidified their union. Complete with tigers, elephants and paparazzi! They held a lavish ceremony with their closest loved ones. They are considered one of Hollywood’s favorite quirky couples. The support and affection they provide one another is evident in the simplest of interactions. Katy Perry is absolutely a household name. Known as the girl who sang gospel, she is an artist aware of the talent and ability she possesses. Sometimes it’s pretty and pink and everything nice, sometimes its candy themed and converted into a Hershey Kiss bikini top. Either way it’s Katy and she will continue to give nothing less than herself to every endeavor she attempts. She sends kisses of talent to the world and the world likes it.<

In these virtual communities people engage with others, share feelings and experiences while extending their base of friendships and social acquaintances. As a magazine fulfills the need to have a greater visual experience than an electronic text driven medium can deliver, ChilloungeNight is the physical aspect of these platforms that fulfils the humanistic need to gather, participate and connect with each other. It is this underlying premise that has allowed ChilloungeNight to deliver an exceptional social, community experience to a passionate audience.

That is why ChilloungeNight is more than just another night out . . . more than a unique transformation of an outdoor space into a magnificent outdoor lounge. ChilloungeNight is a reflection of the social needs of people to interact with others whom we have a commonality. In today’s hectic pace of fitting work and leisure into the demands of our daily schedules, there is a very human need to come together with others and create a sense of community. Community can take many forms and for ChilloungeNight, community is a gathering for adults from all walks of life providing an opportunity to engage in a social interaction with others in a comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable environment. It is the connecting of people in the physical form, reflecting the same aspects of community that have become so prevalent in a virtual sense through the advent of electronic villages and communication platforms. The virtual villages alone, however, cannot completely satisfy the nature of beings to connect and communicate. Experiences create memories and it is these memories that live on within us and further develop our personalities. The collecting of personalities in the community created by ChilloungeNight is the foundation for so much more such as building relationships, extending social norms, deepening bonds and sharing experiences and memories. If Facebook and Twitter are platforms for tying people together through a sharing of thoughts, ChilloungeNight is the physical platform for people to express, share and engage. When attending ChilloungeNight there is a sense of invitation that is created through the environment and programming throughout the night. As guests at the event, those attending have this sense that everyone was invited to the party and that they all have something in common. The interaction of the ChilloungeNight guests is like those at an invitation only party. This feeling further enhances the experience adding to the atmosphere of openness and strengthening the desire to engage in conversation, which is a match to the human need to engage with one another. It is all of these elements cleverly and artistically blended with a touch of “mystique” that creates the feeling that “ChilloungeNight is the place to be”. <

Cool Shots

Scene with Karyn

Photos by Michael Blitch

Bill Sharpe, Leigh Fine, Pilar and Nick Flaskay, Brittany Shaw, James Schade, April and Gene Shaw 14th Annual Celebrate Sinatra This year’s 14th Annual Celebrate Sinatra was different and the largest thus far with over 750 people attending. One of the biggest changes was the 17 piece big band and new conductor, Kym Purling, who believes in authentic music that included the rental of a $100,000 Steinway piano as part of the orchestra. Many danced the night away to the sounds of Tom Tiratto, Lisa Casalino, Paul Phillips and Latin Lovers in the Copa Room. Another noticeable change by the promotion’s wizard, Ken Walters, was the use of a blazer crest for the men and charm bracelet for the women to identify patrons. Loads of fun had by many! Our TOwn > Jobsite Theater presents The Guys

Work for Style! We are looking for talented Account Executives! Send your resume to:

info@styletome.com

The Guys is based on a true story. Anne Nelson’s The Guys was written in just nine days. It almost immediately opened at Tribeca’s off-off-Broadway’s The Flea and starred Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver. Since then, stars of stage and screen have taken turns in this piece in New York, California and across the country hoping to help heal this nation’s pain. The Jobsite production of The Guys began when Jobsite Artistic Associate Paul Potenza traveled to New York City in January 2002 and saw The Flea’s original production. He knew he had to bring this important work to Tampa. Paul was born and raised in New York City, and in his words “it will always be home to me.” Shortly after September 11, Paul was given a tour of Ground Zero. It was an event that would forever change his life. His brother-in-law Tommy DaParma – a fireman and Queens Trustee for the FDNY – was able to put him in contact with Anne Nelson to get the project moving.

Real Estate

> Dana Hall-Bradley

> “The period right before school starts is one of the busiest of the year and there always seems to be a shortage of listings,” remarked Dana Hall-Bradley one morning over coffee at Starbucks. “Sometimes I even have to call people I know to see if they want to sell their home, especially in the family-friendly communities, such as Celebration and Windermere.”

Helping You Live The Luxury Lifestyle By: Sandy Harper Read more at: StyleToMe.com

Dana consistently carries an inventory of great listings to offer the families who are relocating. This year, however, she is need of more listings because the market has been buzzing with buyer activity and many of her listings are under contract. As the Mother of a teenager and a top-producing real estate agent who has helped hundreds of families buy homes, she understands

the urgency of getting settled in at this crucial time. Her experience and expertise as one of the top listing agents for the Century 21 franchise in Florida for the past seven years enables her to counsel sellers on the best way to price, present, and market their property to sell quickly. With the recent acquisition of Dana’s celebration office by CENTURY 21 Real Estate Professionals, she is now part of the third ranked C21 office in the State of Florida. With access to their five offices throughout the Orlando area, Dana is even more equipped to help her clients enjoy a smooth and successful transaction. The offices are located in Celebration, Lake Nona, Downtown Orlando, Lake Mary/Longwood, and Winter Springs. CENTURY 21 Real Estate Professionals is the exclusive real estate agency for Florida Hospital,

which brings in a steady flow of qualified buyers into their offices. When you list your home with Dana, it will be showcased in numerous publications, through social media, and on over 100 websites. Some of the additional benefits you’ll receive are an individualized, gorgeous brochure and virtual tour; promotion to hundreds of agents, clients, and leads; the use of a moving truck (with some restrictions); weekly updates and feedback; and weekday access to her full-time assistant. If you’re considering selling your home, now is a great time to list. Contact Dana and then start packing your bags! She can be reached at 407.433.9699 or at Dana@ TourOfLuxuryHomes.com. Tammy Levent’s Birthday Bash Tammy Levent celebrates her birthday every year with an amazing party not focused on her but with a definite purpose to raise money for the Joshua House. In the three years she has been doing this, she has raised over $30,000 that goes directly to the cause of serving abused children. Tammy became involved after her daughter performed at one of Joshua House’s events and was moved by a child who had been severely abused. Hats off to Tammy for sharing her love of a good time with a focus on improving the lives of others! Suheil Lopez Payor

best friends

Doggie Couture By: Cathleen K. Bode Credits: Allison Otis Read more at: StyleToMe.com

> Animals are creatures of simple pleasures –shelter, food, water, and love. However, the status of dogs has skyrocketed in the past decade. Popularized by Paris Hilton and other Hollywood starlets, transporting dogs in designer pet carriers has become the norm. And luxury designers have taken note, both designing products specifically for dogs and personally investing in their prized possessions. Take the late Alexander McQueen for example. In his will, he allocated $82,000 for the ongoing care of his three English bull terriers. On the surface, this elaborate treatment may seem superfluous but those who knew McQueen are hardly surprised by the gesture. He frequently showcased his furry friends both on the runway and during interviews. And at the ‘My Most Treasured…’ exhibition in London in 2008, McQueen chose to display photographs of his dogs as his most valued possessions rather than the typical arrangement of jewelry and accessories. E! notes that McQueen once said, in a 2009 article, “My dogs are the only thing in the world I really trust.” <

Here are a few items worth ‘bow wowing’ about!

1. Ideal for carrying a pet

2. Afternoon showers? No

3. The design-savvy look

fear, doggie rain slickers are here! To avoid a drenched pup and the subsequent wet dog smell, this classic raincoat from Canine Styles is a must. A fastener closing under the neck and body makes it quick and easy to put on for those unexpected showers and just as easy to take off when the sun comes out!

coupled with the practicality of a removable stainless steel bowl make this dog bowl the perfect complement to a modern home. Set these USA-made, non-slip, recycled rubber, dishwasher safe and water friendly placements beneath the bowl to avoid messy cleanup!

The conversation starter. And ender. Chosen by Car and Driver as the best luxury sedan in the recent comparison test.* There’s much to talk about when you build a sedan that’s been getting the kind of attention the A8 has. Is it because of its revolutionary aluminum Audi Space Frame (ASF®) and the resulting leap in performance and efficiency?** Or is it because of the intuitive handwriting recognition technology of its MMI® system? Or maybe it’s the LED headlights — so vibrantly clear, they are the closest re-creation to daylight yet?† Or is it the combination of everything together? Whatever the case, it’s clear the conversation is over. See how at audiusa.com/A8. The Audi A8 is here.

Luxury has progressed.
