It was a hard decision, and some of my friends and at the S.K.i.R didn´t appreciate that I´ve chosen Lady Gaga to be in a row with all the important Artists of this Decade. However, Stefanie Germanotta is a phenomenon since she released her Hit - Single “Just Dance”. In 2009, she breakthrough into a Pop Market struggling around without a clear direction. It was that time for the Electro Pop take over feat. Little Boots and La Roux, but only this NYC Girl fulfil the big Promise for the Global Domination. Instead of that, Gaga support Emerging Fashion Talents from all over the World and wear their stuff at her shows. It´s nothing groundbreaking in her music, her love to fashion or her shows, but she try to bring back a huge portion of glam to the Pop Biz and as a Bowie addict, I really appreciate this attitude. So love or hate here, but she could be the future of pop.

few Weeks ago, the POTUSA meant that “It is a privilege to be here tonight, and open for Lady Gaga” at the Human Rights Campaign Dinner in Washington D.C. Gaga played the John Lennon Anthem “Imagine” there and dedicated it to the Equality Movement in the USA, where Gay rights are still an utopia. For her, it is important to support them, because she is bisexual. So she also attend at the National Equality March on the next day. It was the US Gay People who support her since she started out as Lady Gaga and the Starlight Revue in some filthy NYC Clubs. A burlesque show, less good than the Icon Dita von Teese (our Vintage Icon of the Decade) , but good enough to get more attention. From that on, Gaga threw

some good parties for some of the Rich Kids, lived in the edgy NYC Scene and set up a Masterplan in her tiny apartment to get famous. Before she became an overnight Star, Germanotta was signed at Def Jam Records and get kicked three months after. This was cruel and I don´t think that she became Stronger after that experience. It seems that this experience changed her hole Life and since them, Germanotta became Gaga and set up a Mask. Since them, she absorbed greater feelings, and made a product out of herself. What did happen deep inside her? What does that mean about us? What does that mean about the Music Industry?
Gaga reflect the shallow Industry and show the consumer what a human being needed to do to get famous. Nobody would have listened to David Bowie when he didn´t wear a Mask in the 70ies. Without being provocative and try to be the greatest of all time, you can´t sell shitloads of records. When Germanotta became Gaga, she broke into the Light of the Bizness very soon and now she can live her big dream since 12 Months. However, it is not Germonatta, it is Lady Gaga the people want. It is a 24/7 job for a girl who still love her parents but need to wear a Mask to stay in the spotlights.

Since them, Lady Gaga traveled the whole world, set up big shows everywhere and dominate the Charts from NYC to Tokio. Millions of Fans, Money, collaboration with big Stars like Beyonce, best . A glamorous life, indeed. Hedi Slimane made the photos for her new Album, or better, the re release of “The Fame”, “The Fame Monster”, which isn´t that good expect one Song called “Bad Romance”. It was probably too early after the successful Debut Album “The Fame” to throw out another record. There is more potential in her as these new Songs and I hope that it will come to daylight on the next full Album. Unless like the two Hit, Wonder Katy Perry, Lady Gaga didn´t use Gay People for her success, because they gave her the chance to play in their Clubs and they start to get into her music and style. A style which is different, innovative and unique. For Fashion Designer like Gareth Pugh, Alexander Wang or Marc Jacobs, Gaga is a good role model. At every public appearance, Gaga wear an outrageous Outfit which isn´t really “Ready to wear”, but that is very important to stay in the Media Circus and get Photo Shoots for dozens of Magazines. From Vogue to V Magazine, Lady Gaga was the No.1 Artist in 2009 when it comes to Cover and Photoshoots for Fashion Magazines. Good for them to have a new Star because of the crises of the Printmedia. Paris Hilton meant that she is a Fashion Icon, but Gaga didn´t want to hear that. However, she donned so many Designers Clothes over the last year. Shortlist will be: Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs, Gareth Pugh, D&G, Galliano, Koma, Pam Hogg and it goes on and on. There is one Fashion Designer who think that her Music is meaningless. Antonio Berardi, who dressed Megan Fox or Gwenyth Paltrow was about to Design a range for her, but dropped it, because he don´t think that she will last long. And it is true, her Music is meaningless, but what about the first Madonna Album? How meaningful was it? And where is she today?
Pop isn´t meant to be Music for the Feuillton, it is made for the Mainstream. And in the early 80ies, Madonna came in and it was something like a revolution. She was really unique but not because of her Songs. It was because she gave the people what the want, and she was provocative and set fashion trends. Look at the best and try harder, that is what Lady Gaga need to do. And this was the only reason to become famous, more than 15 Minutes. “The Fame Monster” Tour isn´t a Monster yet, and not the best Live Show on Planet, even she say that in most of the interviews. It is a solid and entertain Event and bigger than other Artists with a Headline Tour. At the End of the Day, it will be interesting to see this Girl finding real Love and how she change then in terms of her Music. Less Plastic, more real feelings probably. Remember, she is 23 and love her parents. That only means that she haven´t found Love yet. it doesn´t matter if she will last long. In these two years, Lady Gaga changed the Pop World and brought back the Glam, the expression, the innovation and a connection to the Fans which Britney or Christina never really had.
