CHAIRMAN’S NOTE

Every year the Chairman of the new board writes this piece in the pantheon// made by last year’s committee. Usually it is a first encounter of the chairman with the pantheon// This year it’s not. I have had the luck to experience the efforts of the pantheon// committee up close during the last two years and I’m happy to work closely with the pantheon// committee this year, even if it’s from a distance. I am especially proud of this issue, which is the 100th, for closing one era and providing the chance for the following committees to start the next era. As pantheon// celebrates its 100th achievement, Stylos has one big party to throw. This year, Stylos celebrates its 125 anniversary. This number represents the selfless effort and hard work, students have been putting in our society year after year. It represents the goals we have achieved and the dreams that might become reality in the future. This year Stylos is proud. This pride we will be eminent throughout the year, in the form of three separate weeks of celebrations. However, we definitely have more projects you should stay excited about. One of them is taking a more direct approach towards sustainability at the faculty. Raising awareness about issues concerning the environment and taking action towards these problems. One of the ways we are accomplishing this is through a new committee we have started out with this year, Action Committee. We are also continuing with a project started by the past board, an online platform for publishing captivating articles both by the pantheon// committee and other enthusiasts. Last but not least we are working on our image this year. Redefining our brand in a more professional way is what we are working on this year. This includes organizing more activities that connect students with businesses, vacancies and various design contests. Reaching out to all disciplines within the architecture world, not only the design of architecture itself. Together with our 125th anniversary, these projects, are more than enough cause for you to look forward this year. We hope we you will celebrate this year with us.

PAST EVENTS

This summer the Big Trip took a group of 26 BK students to explore the culture and architecture of Japan. Read more about this trip on pages 23-24.

The celebratory Kick-Off Week week of the Lustrum took place on 15-19 th of October. Festivities included an Opening party, a Future Makers lecture Freshman Pubcrawl, a Committee Lunch and more.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Stylos has been invited by the faculty to go to Venice for the closing ceremony of BK Booths in the Palazzo Mora. From 22 - 26 november will venture out to explore the city of water en her beauty.

While days are getting colder, we cant wait to shamelessly walk around in our Christmas jumpers. Well you may, as soon as our Christmas drinks, in December, where faculty meets student to celebrate the end of the year.

We know Architecture student cannot resist a party, definietly one that requires fancy wear. Thats why we will be celebrating this Lustrum year with a Gala on th22 of February.
