The building was destroyed in a big fire, but directly restored by Domitianus.
110 A.C.
The building was struck by lightning during the reign of Trajan and destroyed. Hadrian starts the restoration.
125 A.C.
The pantheon, one of the oldest and still standing buildings in the world. For centuries the dome of the pantheon was the biggest in the world. How? By craftmanship and engineering skills way ahead of their time. The Romans constructed the dome in Roman concrete, adjusting its material composition along the full height of the dome. In the lower parts, a heavier material composition with basalt was used. In the higher part of the dome, lighter aggregates such as pumice were used. The oculus in the dome was created to let daylight enter and for natural ventilation.//

Byzantine Emperor Phocas gives the temple to Pope Boniface IV. It becomes the Church of St. Mary and the Martyrs.
