Design a WayFinding for FTII which helps the audience to get broad outline of the institute, ease the navigation and walk flow experience.
DESIGN BRIEF
ABOUT FTII (Film And Television Institute Of India) Since :1960 Organization Type : Film and Video Institute Director : Mr. D. J. Narain FTII is one of the best institutes of India and is well recognized Internationally. Maharashtra Government has titled Prabhat museum as a historical museum. There are three theaters and one museum which are open for general public.

ANALYSIS
FTII has only one gate for entry and exit. At the entrance there is a visitors parking on left side and right side there is a security cabin where everyone has to get registered before going inside the campus. FTII has one main road which bifurcates into two zones - left and right. From the point of way finding system the signages found there, are mismanaged. Students have displayed their creativity on walls by making graffiti using black and white colour. Architecture of college looks like 80’s era. Huge studios with wooden floorings and brick walls with white washes. Whole campus is very green Buildings have angular cuts
Way-finding is mismanaged Only one orientational sign is there near the entrance which is not leagible Directional signs are missing Identification and regulatory signs are their but are not following any visual hierarchy.

Reason behind giving zone’s orange , red and turquoise blue color is by relating them with the shades of the buildings. It will be easy for visitors to relate the zone with the location 90% black is taken as a background colour because it will standout in the location which is having more of white or tint color buildings .Also in future if they want to inbuild lights in boards contrast of black and white will make text standout .

SOLUTION:
The first orientation map was put near the entrance. Different color codes were given to the 4 main locations. In the map, the walk-flow towards the location was highlighted.

The 2nd orientation map was placed on the main crossing which leads to 3 major buildings, to avoid confusion.
Banners were made following the visual language of the existing posters put up for the Film Festival.
