MATERIAL Care

UNRIVALLED care & attention, …the finest materials, well ordered tools, the wisdom of hands, diligence, precision, a silent rhythm: these are the features found in the finest carpentry workshops. Traditional craftsmanship and design heritage must go hand in hand with sourcing and working with the finest materials, to ensure excellent product quality. It is our passion for detail which makes all our “work” perfect. Details make the subtle difference between good design and a uniquely personal product, which may originate from any design concept, but take shape only with impeccable materials, craftsmanship and finish. To underscore the importance of materials, simply consider how prehistoric eras are classified by associating long periods of early human civilization with materials such as stone, bronze and iron. Wood, a noble, living and dynamic material, is one of the natural elements celebrated since the origin of life and favored for its reliability and durability. Wood retains its distinctive characteristics. Apparent irregularities, such as differences in color or grain, are not considered defects but rather features which create a unique, sophisticated end product. Strict quality control is essential throughout the design and supply chain. Raw materials are therefore subject to detailed testing for qualitative and functional compliance, at every stage of manufacture. An end product that reflects the unique character of our homes and is with us for a long time should undergo painstaking tests for functionality and an in depth analysis of aesthetic factors in line with the original design.

POMODORO AT PALAZZO REALE A major exhibition at the Palazzo Reale celebrates the 90th birthday of Arnaldo Pomodoro and features his most significant work from 1955 to the present day. Famed particularly for his bronze spheres, Pomodoro is one of the most important Italian contemporary sculptors. A “geometric spirit” dominates his art as he tends to base his work around an essential geometric form. The city of Milan pays tribute to this artist in public and private exhibitions, displaying for the first time the entire Pietrarubbia Group sculptures (1975 – 2013) in Piazzetta Reale.

CARAVAGGIO AT BRERA “Attorno a Caravaggio” is an exhibition dialogue, the key piece being one of his most renowned pictures at the Pinacoteca di Brera: Supper at Emmaus by the master Michelangelo Merisi, also known as Caravaggio, is displayed in comparison with two other exceptional paintings. The display, which will thrill the general public, also offers an opportunity for research and exchange of information on Caravaggio, an artist who continues to provoke fierce debate among art historians. The exhibition will also unveil the Pinacoteca’s newly renovated seven halls and great masterpieces.
