Hello! It’s easy these days to lose track of time, get all stressed out, and think to yourself (or out loud) that you’ll be glad when it’s all over. Hopefully you can find some ways around that. Do you sometimes think that you really just don’t have the holiday spirit? Roy Smith said it well: “He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree.” I think for those who have Christmas in their heart, “Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful” (Norman Vincent Peale). I’m here with some shopping ideas and help, visuals, inspiration and information to help get you on the right track to holiday spirit and festivity. The Price Tag There’s a school of thought out there that suggests there is somehow a correlation between the price tag on a present and the amount of love and affection you carry in your heart; that if you really love someone, you must spend a lot of money on a gift for them. Not only is that not true, but the most expensive gift in the world can’t take the place of a gift of time or a gift from the heart. In fact, the older I get, the more I realize that the only gifts I really want for Christmas are those that can’t be bought. So start out telling those special someones in your life how much they mean to you. Try to get away from just numbly checking off items on a wish list. Think of ways you can give of yourself, of your time, from your heart. Then, if you’re so inclined, think about some gifts of pampering from Susan’s Sumptuous Soaps. Give your loved ones more reasons to take some extra time out of their busy schedules to relax, unwind, and nurture their body and mind.
