rehearsing and/or performing. Regular choral sessions are Mondays, 1-3 p.m. with parts rehearsals on Wednesdays, 1-3 p.m., Pinnacle Music Studio. Instrumentalists come in at 3 p.m. both days and jam until 5 p.m. The choral group traditionally does two performances at the Starbright Theatre each year. Singers will take some time off during the summer months, but instrumentalists will keep on making music. Music Studio may be closed for a few weeks, please contact the president for alternate plans. Remember: We ask all who come into the rehearsals to not wear fragrance of any kind (perfume, after shave, hair spray, hand lotion etc.) during any rehearsal. (Allergies). Neighborhood Preparedness Team
Neighborhood Preparedness Team (NPT) presents on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 10 a.m.12 p.m. at Desert Vista Rooms 1 & 2. CERTWhy is it essential? How can you help? The Community Emergency Response Team program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Organ, Piano, and Keyboard
May flowers are growing and we’re growing too! More and more residents are discovering the fun you can have at our club. We have an experienced teacher who helps and guides our members with theory, chords and reading music. It doesn’t matter whether you’re an experienced player, a beginner or whether you want to learn to play – we’re here for you. We meet on Tuesdays from 9-11 a.m. in the Pinnacle Music Room. Pan
Pan has everything the card player looks for – fun-packed with a combination of skill and luck. It is played with 8 decks of cards with the 8’s, 9’s and 10’s removed. Photography Club
The Photography Club meets the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at Desert Vista. Members range from novice to professional. We welcome visitors and all are invited to join. Pickleball
Pickleball has members at every level of play. Open Play is every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings with Ladies Open Play Friday mornings. Novice Games are Tuesday afternoons. Check the bulletin board at the courts for hours. Locked courts are located at the far end of the DV parking lot and are for SC Summerlin resident use. If you set up games outside of Club times, all players must check-in at DV Fitness with your Association card. Nonresidents need guest passes. Upcoming plans include our club picnic May 6th, Summer Solstice Round Robin for club members June 21st, and group play with other Pickleball Clubs in our area. To join the club, pick up a membership application at the courts. For beginners, an orientation, and introduction to pickleball is provided. Quilting
May is bringing warmer weather, we are celebrating by having our May meeting as a Spring Picnic at Pueblo Park on Lake Mead Blvd at 10 a.m., on Monday, May 8. All members are encouraged to bring a chair and salad to share. Quilt Club’s 2023 Raffle Quilt is finished and on display. Tickets are: $1 for one ticket or 6 tickets for $5, and available from the Quilt Room or any member. The drawing will be in October 2023 Arts and Craft Fair. Looking for spring quilts for those grandbabies stop by the Quilt Room at the Pinnacle. We always are welcoming new members. The Racquetball Club welcomes players of all skill levels. Contact us for some intro or refresh lessons. Club dues remain at only $10 for the year. The Club participates in Club Fairs providing opportunity awareness for interested players.
