WateRobics
WateRobics classes are held at Sun Shadows, Monday-Friday at 9-9:45 a.m., and Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 1212:45 p.m. Sessions are led by certified instructors who offer modifications to meet various physical limitations. If you’re new to our community and are looking for a great workout, please join us for two free classes to see if it’s a good fit for you. The May 18 meeting at Desert Vista is for members only, as there will be a luncheon and presentation from MountainView Hospital. The topic "Different Strokes for Different Folks" will be discussed by Tanya Oetjen, Stroke Coordinator for the Hospital. This is an important subject, as strokes are becoming more common today among younger people. The theme for the meeting is Spring flowers, and there will be a contest and prize for the most creative floral ensemble. Writer’s Workshop
If you enjoy writing for fun or aspire to publishing, you will enjoy the Writer’s Workshop. We’re a casual, supportive, friendly group representing the full range of writing experience from beginners to those who have published or seek to publish.
Members write about their life experiences, creative or humorous stories, and more. There will also be speakers and tips to help maximize our writing abilities. We meet on the first four Mondays of each month, Sun Shadows, 9:30 a.m.-noon. Visitors welcome on the second and fourth Mondays. Annual dues are $20. Hope to see you soon. Exercise in disguise!!! Have fun while burning a ton of calories without even knowing it! Each class is 45 minutes and includes aerobics, toning, balance, and stretching. All classes are held at Sun Shadows. Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m.; Aqua classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 11 a.m.; and toning on Saturday at 11 a.m. Questions? SUN CITY SUMMERLIN HAS BEEN AWARDED THE CAI NEVADA 2022 OUTSTANDING MASTER ASSOCIATION OF THE YEAR
Sun City Summerlin Community Association, Inc. was honored on Friday, March 31, 2023, when we were awarded the Community Association Institute (CAI) Outstanding Master Association of the year for the State of Nevada.
We were in good company with the following communities that were also nominated for this prestigious award; Desert Shores Community Association, Inspirada Community Association, Mountain’s Edge Master Association, Peccole Ranch Community Association, Tuscany Master Association and Wingfield Springs Community Association.
Congratulations to the Board of Directors, Owners, Residents and Staff for making this the best Master Association in Nevada.
CAI is an international membership organization dedicated to building better communities. With over 40,000 members, CAI has 63 chapters worldwide, including Canada, the Middle East and South Africa, and relationships with housing leaders in a number of other countries, including Australia and the United Kingdom. CAI provides information, education and resources to the homeowner volunteers who govern communities and the professionals who support them.
