unglasses Shop hark the call of the deep as the spring/summer 2012 catwalks brought a wave of inspirational designs full of the beauty and mystery of the sea. A pale palette at Versace was adorned with starfish and shells. Vivid tropical prints played over Mary Katrantzou’s creations. Chanel shelled out something truly spectacular. The Grand Palais was transformed into an underwater world with Florence Welch as siren. Stella McCartney’s ultramarine became even more so with trompe l’oeil waves. Givenchy sent girls out with shark tooth pendants. Giorgio Armani’s sleek minimal satin dresses rippled and were awash with watery tones. Supersize pearls encrusted Armani’s clutches. At Alexander McQueen Sarah Burton created real goddesses of the deep. Otherworldly couture-worthy dresses were heavily adorned with pearl and barnacle-like embellishments. Sea scenes crept over minis and shifts at Holly Fulton. From the hot technicolour prints to full on merchic in pastel aquas and pearls, having at least a paddle is a must. The gorgeous Chanel conch shell clutch is a little out of reach for most of us. But if you feel you feel like getting swept away by Ariel’s treasures then the Sunglasses Shop edit will have you 20000 leagues above the rest. CH

astels have some serious power for spring/summer 2012 and on the catwalks sunglasses lightened up too. Let’s face it; our favourite season’s wardrobe is not complete until the sunglasses are on. Sunglasses Shop of course has the perfect sunglasses to frame your pastel pash however you take this diverse trend. In the face of 2012’s new pastel palette many say that the only certainties in life are death, taxes and pastels in the summertime. Perhaps, but if you dismiss the catwalk this season you are missing out on an exciting new presentation of a palette we think we know too well. The new pastels have already been showcased on the cover of February’s British Vogue in Prada’s ice blue and lemon yellow broderie anglaise in what is set to be one of the defining looks and colour combos of the season. It’s more subtle than an all out sugar rush; icy blues at Dolce and Gabbana and Miu Miu, sharp lemon and spearmint greens at Dior, Chanel, Diane Von Furstenberg, Calvin Klein Collection and Marc Jacobs will awaken your palate this season. Nail it with an eye for more washed out colours and think rose rather than pink; damask at Givenchy, Lanvin and Tommy Hilfiger were exemplary. Worn with a black lined top lid at Jonathan Saunders and flashes of Cadillac red and killer hotrod heels at Prada making pastels punchier is a blast. Via fifties fetish at Prada and Proenza Schouler, Ralph Lauren’s return to Gatsby, Jonathan Saunders high saturation, layered and blocked minimalism at 3.1 Phillip Lim and a beautiful barely but ever so there in leather and brocade at Christopher Kane pastels packed a punch and had new expression there is a myriad of ways to take the trend. Head to toe or even just accessorising with sunglasses, it’s just too good to miss. Sharpen your tone with this colour conscious sunglasses edit, for unless you’ve a resolve of Kevlar, then you will succumb to this exciting new palette and indeed Sunglasses Shop’s perfect accessories. oth women’s and menswear offered a kaleidoscopic palette on the Milan and Paris catwalks. But blue really rained down. Tailoring, separates and accessories all took on the stuff. Those from Dior Homme, Bottega Veneta, Acne and Yves Saint Laurent were some of the most memorable. And of course one of our favourite ways to brandish blue this coming season is a set of smart designer sunglasses. We have the very best of the bunch in blue in our vast men’s sunglasses selection which in both frame and lens really bring 2012’s must have colour to life. There are a number of smart ways to really update your blues this season. Wear with orange or yellow as sported at Paul Smith for an up to the minute twist. It certainly doesn’t hurt to keep it classic and wear with white for a bit of marina chic. Whether you opt for these pairings or ride the wave and don it head to toe, show you mean business and sing the blues with accessories too. Shoes, socks and sunglasses are just begging for a pop of colour. Here are just a handful of the bluetones at Sunglasses Shop that sound the perfect note for the new season in style. CH

Retro sunglasses are the heart’s desire of every style savvy lad and lady right now as the trend gains more ground than ever this season. The catwalks were choc full of retro style sunglasses at the likes of Dolce and Gabbana, Prada, Chanel, Fendi, Prabal Gurung, Bottega Veneta and Giles to name a few. Heavy retro sunglasses were the only way the top fashion designers wanted to crown their spring/summer collections. Taking in the sunglasses styles of the forties through eighties old school was cool. Wayfarers, brow-line styles, round framed and cat eyes took centre stage. Sunglasses Shop have been lusting over keyhole bridges, cat eyes and hinge pins for a long time now so our collection is full of the very best of that character and flair that vintage styling offers. The look is all about authenticity. With collections from the great eyewear originators such as Oliver Peoples, Persol, Ray-Ban and Oliver Goldsmith quality really pays off as the finer details are what will give you the edge. From the edgy to the elegant Sunglasses Shop is the premier destination for retro sunglasses. CH
