Happy Victoria Day everyone
Dear readers,
Motherhood carries the gift of nurturing, care, and superhuman love. After all the definitions and expression of thoughts on Mother, I still feel that ‘who is mother’ is a question that cannot be answered satisfactorily by words. One must experience the love, compassion, and empathy of a mother at a personal level to know what a powerful, godly creation it is.
The month of May is dedicated to mothers. As the world celebrates Mother’s Day this month, we can just be thankful for having some wonderful women in our lives who we can call mothers. We have a special feature that talks about what motherhood means to women around us.
This month also marks the celebration of Victoria Day across Canada. Initially, the day was to honor Queen Victoria’s birthday, but now it has also been celebrated as the official birthday of Canada’s sovereign.
We have put together an eclectic mix of content to keep you entertained. The exciting insights from the film industry are sure to keep you up to date with the latest celebrity news.
The entire team behind this edition has worked relentlessly to bring forth quality content for you. I hope to stand high and rise above the expectations of our readers.

5 kid-friendly international vacation spots to visit this summer
Planning a kid-friendly itinerary, especially for international travel might seem scary and daunting at first, but it’s a lot of fun once you take the first step towards it. While you can travel to any country with your kids, there are some countries that are especially kid-friendly due to the amenities they offer.
5 ways to spend Victoria Day weekend with your partner
Victoria Day long weekend is one of the most favorite holidays for a lot of people. They love Victoria Day specifically because it has no designated purpose, no specific meal plan, and no mandatory activities. The holiday commemorates the birthday of Queen Victoria, who has been dearly departed since 1901, and so the holiday is more of an informal vacation and a celebration of the beginning of summer. These days are yours to use as you wish, but we think the long weekend is a great time for couple-related activities. The weather is warming up, and the holiday has no family obligations tied to it, so you can choose to celebrate the new season however you wish, preferably with someone special. Here are a few of our suggestions:
Have a picnic
In many parts of Canada, it is now warm enough to pack up the picnic basket and head outside. Celebrate the warm season with a basket full of goodies, a nice comfy blanket, and a couple of hours spent in a park with your date. There are lots of great places you can have a picnic: at the beach, in a park, or even closer to home in your own backyard. Bring some decadent snacks, some bubbly drinks, and maybe some speakers to listen to romantic tunes. Science has never
proven it, but we’re pretty sure everything tastes twice as good when you’re sitting on a blanket on the grass.
Get away
A long weekend gives you enough time to get a little further from home, so take advantage, and take a trip out somewhere beautiful and maybe a bit unfamiliar. Book a bed and breakfast, or try a luxury hotel, and spend your weekend exploring, eating, and dipping into a hotel hot tub. You can also splurge on spa treatments, go on hikes,
try local restaurants, and stay in and watch movies. Get comfortable—after all, relaxed romance is the best kind.
Go on a bender
No, not a drinking bender! But find something you enjoy doing, and devote an entire weekend to it. Think of an activity that you and your partner wish you could do more often. Like movies? Get passes to a film fest, or just splurge and go see multiple movies per day. Into golf? Hit the green every morning until you’ve perfected your putt. Always wanted to try kayaking?
Now is your chance—take a starter class, and spend your weekend padding. And yes, if you love fine wine, you might want to check out a few vineyards for a bit more of a traditional bender.
Check out a local amusement park or fair
If you have chances are you’ve never hit the fairway without being pulled along by your tiny, demand ing progeny. You might be surprised by how fun it can be to have
a relaxing, childless day at an amusement park. You can try out the games, eat some delicious deep-fried fare, and hit the scariest roller coaster you dare. And if you can’t handle the rides, you can sit on the sidelines and people-watch— an activity more fascinating than any funhouse.
Go on a double date
How long has it been since you got together with another couple and saw a movie, had dinner, went bowling? Double-dating seems to have fallen out of style, but it’s actually a great way to spark up new conversations and break out of a rut. We spend so much time with our partners, and because we are comfortable with them, we can fall into routines. Getting together with another couple is a fun way to engage with new ideas, or to get different perspectives.

A path to entrepreneurship for young mothers
Early childhood education programs are a valuable resource for young mothers seeking to provide their children with a strong foundation for future success. In addition to offering a high-quality education and a safe, nurturing environment for children, these programs can also provide a path to entrepreneurship for young mothers who are interested in opening their own daycare centers.
One of the key benefits of early childhood education programs is that they provide young mothers with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively care for and educate young children. Through coursework and hands-on experience, young mothers can learn about child development, health and nutrition, and effective teaching strategies. These skills not only benefit their own children but can also be applied to running their own daycare centers in the future.
In addition to the practical skills gained through early childhood education programs, these programs can also provide young mothers with the confidence and support needed to pursue entrepreneurship. Many programs offer opportunities for parent engagement and networking, allowing young mothers to connect with other parents and childcare providers and build their professional networks. They may also offer guidance on starting and running a successful daycare business, including advice on licensing, insurance, and business planning.
By opening their own daycare centers, young mothers can not only provide a valuable service to their communities but can also achieve financial independence and stability for themselves and their families. According to the StatCan, childcare businesses
are projected to experience strong growth in the coming years, creating opportunities for young mothers who are interested in pursuing entrepreneurship.
Western Community College offers a comprehensive Early Childhood Education program that provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the field of childcare. The program covers a range of topics, including child development, health and safety, and curriculum planning, and provides hands-on experience through practicum placements in a variety of childcare settings. For a limited time, the college is also offering an $8000 scholarship to all students enrolled in the program, making it a more affordable option for those interested in pursuing a career in early childhood education. Additionally, students in the program receive four months of practical exposure, allowing them to gain real-world experience and build their professional networks. With this combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, graduates of Western Community College’s Early Childhood Education program are well-
equipped to enter the workforce and make a positive impact on the lives of young children and families.
In conclusion, early childhood education programs offer young mothers a valuable opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge needed to care for and educate young children, as well as a poten-
tial path to entrepreneurship through opening their own daycare centers. By providing support, guidance, and resources, these programs can help young mothers achieve their goals of providing a stable and nurturing environment for their own children while also pursuing a fulfilling and financially rewarding career.
5 ways to remove a summer tan
Is the fear of getting tanned forcing you to avoid going out?
Tanning is unavoidable, but you can easily remove sun tan at home with some simple ingredients. Try these simple ayurvedic ways to get rid of tanning at home.
Coffee body scrub: Add one or two teaspoons of almond or coconut oil, half a spoonful of sugar, and a few drops of lemon juice to one tablespoon of filter coffee (dry powder or filtrate). After thoroughly blending the ingredients, gently massage your tanned body parts. Rinse it off after some time, and then pat it dry. The finest results come from using this twice each week.
Papaya mask: Papaya is one of the best ingredients for skin care. The fruit contains enzymes that help whiten and de-tan the skin. Addi-
tionally, it helps treat skin ulcers and can be beneficial for removing tan from the body. Combine one tablespoon of honey and halfripe papaya pulp in a bowl. Next, apply it gently to the tanned areas and massage it for ten minutes. Allow it to rest for another 20 minutes. After washing with cold water, apply a mild moisturizer. Use this mask at least twice a
Mix two teaspoons of besan, one teaspoon of milk or curd, and one teaspoon of turmeric powder to make a thick pack. Apply the paste to your sun-affected skin gently and uniformly for 30 minutes, and wash it off with warm water.
Mash some overripe bananas with a spoonful of honey, a few drops of milk, and malai. This mixture lightened the skin when applied to tanned body parts and rinsed off after 15 minutes.
This de-tanner is all-natural and easily accessible. Vitamin C and lactic acid are abundant in coconut milk, which helps to eliminate tanning from the skin effectively. Additionally, it is very moisturizing and nourishing, which also keeps your skin hydrated. Drench a cotton pad in fresh organic coconut milk. Apply it evenly to the face and neck and let it absorb in the skin for 15 minutes. Wash it

A love like no other
a mother’s love is everything. It is what brings a child into this world. It is what molds their entire being. when a mother sees her child in danger, she is literally capable of anything. a mother’s love is the strongest energy known to man. Motherhood is about love, care, protection, learning, unlearning, emotions, and it is an entire new chapter in a person’s life. we have some heartfelt messages from women who don many hats. these mothers share what motherhood means to them and how much they love this role.
My baby’s smile makes me forget all my sorrows, for me, motherhood is a roller coaster of emotions, a role where one learns every day and it is a never ending story. A mother builds forts, fixes football shirts, and teaches life lessons about broken hearts and self-esteem amongst a million other things for their children. It is a 24-hour job for every day of the year. The moment you stare at your newborn, your life changes forever, beyond measure, uncontrollably. I believe being a mom is not an easy job, and we must thank our mothers for giving their best without expecting anything in return.
Motherhood is journey of women’s lifetime where she experiences every possible emotion with constant feeling of unconditional love, protection and patience. It’s like seeing the world and all its possibilities through your children’s eyes.
The best part about motherhood is reliving your childhood all over again with more wisdom and countless memories of lifetime. The snuggles with you at night, running to you when they’re hurt, and standing behind you in scary situations, it’s like getting a loyal, loving and caring best friend gifted by God to you. Motherhood has made me a new woman, Now I love learning, listening, leading, laughing, loving, and living in the moment . . . all while executing the myriad details of my life.
Becoming a mother has been one of the greatest blessings in my life. In my opinion, becoming a mother is the most powerful phase in any woman’s life. This phase not only taught me how to love and care but also made me understand my parents better. Now I understand why mother would be so protective and why she never made any compromise when it came to seeing me happy. A mother has the most important role that no other member of the family can play. We are the backbone that connects the roots of the family tree to the branches. So I am cherishing every bit of it.
Motherhood is a roller coaster ride. It’s a juggle that never gets any easier, you just get better at it. Motherhood means the world to me, it has made me a better person and bought a deeper meaning to my life. Motherhood means family, happiness, love and contentment. Motherhood is lucky and a gift that not all of us get. It brings out the best and worst in you. Some days are hard and some days are easy but ultimately the joy of raising small humans is so powerful.

There are so many reasons why I love being a mother, but one thing that brings me immense joy is observing the expression in my children’s eyes when they learn or comprehend something new. For me the bond between me and my children is a source of comfort, support, and strength. It’s delightful to notice small parts of my personality in them. I love that I get the privilege of shaping the minds of two beautiful children and providing a wonderful example for them. Being a mother gave me new a perspective on life and made me more patient, selfless, and compassionate as now I prioritize my child’s needs over my own.

Anushka Duggallong-term exposure to the harsh sunlight of summer can cause weathering and oxidative damage to the scalp. This leads to hair that is dry, brittle, and stiff.
While covering your head with a cap or scarf is a must when outdoors. Here are ten ways to successfully protect your hair from the burning summer heat.
Do not apply too many cosmetic or coloring dyes to your hair during summer. It has been seen that colored hair can undergo considerable changes during summer. Therefore, it is best to avoid excess chemical and chemical treatments during this time of the year. Even if you want to color your hair during summer, it is recommended that you use organic compositions and does it at least a couple of months before the mercury levels go off the charts.
Is hair becoming too dry due to the sun? The ideal way to secure your hair from the heat of the sun is by wearing a cap or scarf. If you don’t want to wear a scarf, ensure that you at least use a leavein conditioner with SPF. If your profession comprises working outdoors, use hair products that pack enough SPF. You can also select a special hair mask or sun-
screen product that is customized for your hair type. However, once you reach home make sure you wash your hair with water. Go for a rinse-out conditioner that can rejuvenate your hair by reinstating its original moisture and life. You should always choose a conditioner that compliments your hair texture and hair type.
Excessive use of shampoo is detrimental to your hair. Do not apply shampoo every day as it will do more harm than good by drying up your scalp and weakening the hair. If you sweat more profusely in the scalp region and have hair that gets easily greasy, you should opt for a mild shampoo. Remember to apply the shampoo only on the scalp and not the hair or it will become dry.
Who doesn’t love going for an afternoon swim to cool the body during summer? But did you know that your hair can get easily damaged due to the concentrated levels of chlorine in the water and UV radiation from the sun? The best thing that you can do is make sure you apply a leave-in conditioner before and put on a swimming cap, post-swimming use a nice shampoo to reduce the damage done to the hair from the chlorinated water.
Go easy on the blow dryer as
it emits excess heat that can harm your hair during summer. If need be, wash your hair half an hour earlier than usual so that it has sufficient time to dry in the air. Steer clear of styling irons and curlers and allow your hair to be in its natural state.
It is often the tips of your hair that sustain the highest damage during summertime heat. It is common for people to witness a lot of split ends and dry tips during this period. Therefore, this is the best time to go for that new haircut. In case you do not want to cut your hair short, you can settle for a small trim that will take care of the ends and reinvigorate your hair.
Co-washing or conditioner washing is a must during the summer months. As your hair gets dirtier during summer due to the copious amounts of sweat and dirt, regular hair cleansing is imperative. During this period, merely shampooing your hair does not suffice. Make sure you wash your hair with a good quality replenishing conditioner. After wetting your hair, apply for two minutes and then rinse with soft water for the best result.
If you suffer from oily hair, then regular co-washing is bound to make your hair greasy. Shifting to dry sham-
poos is a good option in such cases. You can also apply a little sprinkling of baby talc on your scalp and hair and then comb it out. This has to be one of the simplest yet most effective hair care tips for summertime.
While practicing all the above tips, make sure you follow this advice to the letter. Drink lots of fluids. The significance of keeping yourself well-hydrated during peak summer months cannot be stressed enough. Drinking sufficient water is the key to good hair and skin health. You should also eat a lot of fresh seasonal fruits and green vegetables as they not only hydrate the skin but are also loaded with a number of essential vitamins and minerals. Along with maintaining a good and clean diet, you can also add plant-based biotin supplements to your routine as it supports healthy, nourished hair, skin, and nails.
Follow the aforementioned tips diligently and you will have very little to complain about when it comes to hair health. While these recommendations operate mostly on the external level, make sure that you power yourself internally as well by drinking lots of water and eating natural and organic foods that can keep you cool during the heat.

By: N. Lothungbeni HumtsoeAll you need to know about rabies protocols
Primarily, it is carried within wildlife, especially bats, and then can be transferred to your pet during an encounter, where bites or wounds take place and saliva enters the site of impact. Similarly, if an infected animal were to bite a human, it would give precedent for possible rabies infection spread.
The most common physical signs that your dog or cat may display is behavior change and increased vocalization. This means that your pet may show excessive aggressiveness, hiding constantly, irritability and even extreme excitability. Your furry companion may show lameness in their gait. Depending on each animal, these signs could present themselves as very acute and quick to take place, or they could also take their time and progressively
develop over a period. Classically, there are two main forms of this disease that are known to present within the patient. The first form is called the ‘Dumb Form’. In this, the patient mainly presents with salivating from the mouth excessively and may find it difficult to swallow in general. The second form is called the ‘Furious Form”. This form presents more behavioral issues of being very anxious and aggressive. These animals may also experience seizures and unfortunately, become paralyzed in the process.
Typically, if any animal is suspected to have Rabies, the ideal and standard method of diagnosing includes testing the brain and sending it to a laboratory for confirmed analysis. However, there are many different protocols set in place for different case scenarios for
certain animals or pets that have been potentially exposed. If your pet is unvaccinated and has seemed to encounter this disease, the options are plain and simple. Depending on if any symptoms are present and the condition of the animal, either legally it will be euthanized and a brain sample will be sent for testing, or your pet will be placed in a quarantine situation for four months. However, they will be given a rabies vaccination upon their entry into this quarantine period. If your pet is fully vaccinated with the Rabies vaccine and is up to date with its current one, then a booster rabies vaccination will be administered right away, and the owner will be responsible for keeping their pet in quarantine and strict observation for up to 45 days. Any pets that have taken the rabies vaccine before, however are now overdue for their current one during a situation like this, will need to show proof of such from their owners. Once proof of vaccination has been presented, the animal will receive a booster Rabies vaccination and again be kept under strict quarantine and observation by their owner for 45 days.
Protocols also extend towards animals who may be exposed and have bitten humans. If that dog or cat is overall very healthy, whether it has received a rabies vaccine prior or not, legally it will need to be quarantined for 10 days. The 10-day
mark is important, as it is the average time in which aggressive signs of rabies in animals may present themselves. However, this healthy animal at the time will not receive any rabies vaccine. This incident will legally be reported to the local health department once any new symptoms, indicating Rabies, have taken place. If symptoms do arise, then euthanasia and a brain sample submission will be given. If the animal that bit the human is a stray or unwanted dog or cat, then immediate euthanasia and rabies testing will occur.
We highly recommend that it is very important to always keep track of your pet’s vaccination status and have them up to date on all their vaccines. Unfortunately, in situations like this, the biggest regret that most pet owners will experience is not being up to date on their pet’s rabies vaccination and thus having the animal suffer the consequences.
By: Dr. Sifti BhullarAll about Root Canal treatment
what is root canal treatment/ Endodontic treatment?
If we check the scientific meaning “Endo” is the Greek word for “inside” and “odont” is Greek for “tooth.” Endodontic treatment treats the inside of the tooth.
Root canal is a treatment to repair and save a badly damaged/ infected tooth instead of removing it. It is called “root canal” treatment because in this we treat the canals present inside the roots of the teeth. If saving a tooth is not possible by root canal treatment, then other options of treatment become extraction of the damaged tooth, and then replacing the tooth with a dental implant, bridge or removable partial denture.
what causes the need for root canal treatment?
Root canal treatment is needed when the pulp present in the root canal, becomes inflamed or infected. This inflammation or infection can occur due to deep cavity or a crack in the tooth. Also, a traumatic injury to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if there is no visible fracture line on the tooth. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess formation.
How do I know that my tooth needs root canal treatment?
If you experience one or more than one from following symptoms, it mean you might need a root canal—
4Deep cavity with severe pain while chewing
4Pimples on the gums
4A chipped or cracked tooth
4Sensitivity to hot or cold, even after removal of the causative agent.
Is root canal treatment painful?
Many patients worry that root canal treatment will be painful, but now latest technologies and anaesthesia options have made root canals into a mostly pain-free procedure.
For the first few days after treatment, your tooth may feel sensitive, especially if there was pain or infection before the procedure. This discomfort can be relieved with anti-inflammatory drugs. After completion of root canal treatment, your tooth may continue to feel slightly different from your other teeth for some time, but if you experience severe pain or pressure on biting which lasts for more than few days, visit your endodontist.
How is root canal treatment done?
Root canal treatment can be performed in one or two visits de-
pending on condition of the tooth. During root canal treatment, after giving local anaesthesia, the endodontist gains access to the root canal system to remove the inflamed and infected pulp from the inside of a tooth. After the pulp is removed, the pulp cavity is thoroughly disinfected and cleaned. After thorough cleaning and shaping, the dentist fills the tooth and seals it with a special material called gutta-percha. Finally, the tooth is restored in form crown or filling so that the patient can continue to chew and bite on the tooth without any problem.
Advantages of Having a Root Canal vs. Tooth Extraction
Most of our patients at Perfect teeth root canal and implant clinic realize the importance of saving their natural teeth through root canal treatment. By this treatment, patients can preserve their natural teeth for as long as possible. If you lose a tooth, you may have a gap in your smile or you may have trouble eating or even speaking clearly. Loss of tooth means that patients must undergo prosthetic intervention with crown and bridge or dental implants which is more expensive than saving your natural teeth. As a general rule, it’s best to preserve your natural teeth as long as possible before resorting to prosthetic options.
Advantages of getting root canal done?
One of the biggest benefits of root canal treatment is that it removes pain and infection from the tooth giving a new life to your badly damaged tooth. With good dental hygiene, and routine dental check-ups, a root canal treatment can last a lifetime without issues.
Some patients feel as if tooth extraction would be the more affordable choice if compared to root canal treatment, but in reality, tooth extraction requires more follow-up appointments than root canal treatment and often,
patients have to get a denture, bridge, or implant, which costs higher than root canal treatment. So, affordability and ease of treatment are other benefits of getting a root canal as compared to tooth extraction.
Other major advantage of root canal treatment is preserving aesthetics. Teeth which have become infected may turn yellow, brown, or even black. After root canal treatment and crown, the tooth actually looks better than it did before it became infected.
So, before you decide against root canal treatment on the basis that it could be painful or that tooth extraction is a cheaper option, be aware that both of these statements are myths. So, if you have an infection in the pulp of your tooth, the best, pain-free and most affordable option for you to fix the problem permanently is to get a root canal done as soon as possible.
pleted in one to two appointments depending on many factors like extent of the infection, difficulty in manipulation of the root canal system and feasibility of the treatment.
Ultimate goal of root canal treatment is to save the tooth. The appointments necessary to completely restore the tooth, should not be considered part of the root canal process.
Myth 4: The benefits of root canal therapy are temporary.
Results from a root canal are long-lasting. Root canal treatment relieves toothache and preserves the affected tooth indefinitely.
Myth 5: Root canal kills the tooth.
Can
all teeth be saved by root canal treatment?
Most teeth can be saved except in few conditions like badly damaged teeth, root is severely fractured, root canals are not accessible, the tooth doesn’t have adequate bone support, or the tooth cannot be restored.
Myths about Root Canal Treatment
Myth 1: Root canal therapy is painful.
There is a continuous fear that root canal is a painful procedure. But, the truth is root canal therapy is performed to relieve pain. Root canal treatment is needed when an untreated deep cavity spreads to the pulp of your tooth and causes an infection. This is where the pain comes from, not the procedure itself.
Root canal procedure is done after giving anaesthesia, following which you hardly feel anything during the procedure. After completion of the treatment, pain which was present before treatment, disappears, and your tooth is saved.
Myth 2: A root canal is a costly treatment.
Having a root canal along with crown always remains less expensive than extracting a tooth and then replacing it with a bridge or a dental implant.
Myth 3: Completing a root canal requires several appointments.
Root canal therapy may be com-
A root canal does not kill the tooth, and after completion of the root canal treatment, the tooth will be able to function as it normally does. Though, during root canals we remove the nerves present inside the tooth, but these nerves serve very little function in a fully formed tooth.
Myth 5: Extraction is better alternative to root canal treatment.
Sometimes, patient feels root canal treatment as expensive affair but unfortunately, the patient may be unaware that a tooth extraction will eventually create a need for more expensive procedures like dental implants or bridges. These procedures require more time in the dental chair, and extensive prosthetic work making them much more expensive than a simple root canal.
More importantly, root canal treatments conserve healthy tooth structure. While dental implants and bridges may be durable replacements, healthy, natural teeth will always be stronger and more functional than its prosthetic counterpart.
‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’: Bhai, even you look bored!

Reaching midlife isn’t always a crisis; in fact, for many, it’s undoubtedly a significant milestone. More so, for many actors who embrace the signs of aging with grace and dignity. Particularly in Hollywood.
Closer home in India, this is far from the truth, for some aging male actors famous across Asia as action heroes have built a career around their extraordinary physicality, and not acting chops. So, they refuse to grow up on screen.
Of course, for most of these good-looking stars, age treats them well, albeit one can spot puffiness settling on their face, which also starts showing signs of having weathered many storms (read hits and flops). They keep making movies, they enjoy being part of dabbling in their second-favorite activity and getting paired opposite 20-something actresses less than half their chronological age. Sadly, by doing so, many of them prolong their midlife crisis.
Salman Khan’s avatar as ‘Bhai’ (‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Dabangg’, ‘Ready’, ‘Sultan’, ‘Tiger’) were either roaring successes or at least hits as fans assured him of returns that made producers (in many cases, his brothers, Arbaz and Sohail) dive into the next production with him as the lead star.
Few could compare with Salman Khan when it came to physical appearance even as he romanced an Anushka or a Katrina in their 20s. This ‘Bhai’ means a lot to many people: if he is somebody’s bhai (saviour), he is also somebody’s ‘Jaan’ (heartthrob)! But that was pre-’Pathaan’, the blockbuster that has raked in mountains of moolah.
Charming his way to his stupendous box-office success, the Badshah of Bollywood, SRK, proved that while there may be many success stories, none can match up to his charismatic style, unrestrained energy and debonair ways, not to mention his unique talent.
To be fair to Salman, in his last films, he tried his best to not allow a wafer-thin story going pedestrian, and at least made an attempt to infuse scenes with get-up-and-go vibrancy. In this film, he looks bored and uninterested after a while.
Regrettably, not just the actor in him, but also the character he plays seems to descend into the murky swamp of midlife.
‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ has him playing ‘Bhaijaan’, an orphan who is a doting brother to three young men -- Ishq (Raghav Juyal), Moh (Jassie Gill ) and Love (Siddharth Nigam); he also has three father-like figures (Satish Kaushik, Tej Sapru, Asif Sheikh) he looks up to.
A self-defence trainer, he lives happily with his brothers and uses his biceps, strong arms
and tremendous self-discipline and strength of mind. combined with violence. to settle disputes in the neighborhood. He tries to mend his ways for his girlfriend Bhagya (Bhagyashree), but decides to drop her when he learns that she’s in trouble due to their past rivalry with ‘Rowdy’ Anna (Jagapathi Babu).
He sets out to protect them without their knowledge and focus on protecting his family. As the eldest brother he refuses to get tied down to matrimony -- he believes it may create disharmony in his big family.
His brothers, who’ve already found partners, come together to find a match for him. But he doesn’t find any girl worth his attention. “Every girl comes close to being 99 per cent, but that 1 per cent” becomes his lifelong wait and search. His swag doesn’t work, making him not in the least desirable.
The plot, to say the least, is mindless and characters flit in and out, leaving the space for Salman to dance, mouth inan-
ities (dialogues), beat some men to pulp and shed copious tears in emotional scenes that are crammed in for no reason.
Perhaps, he wants to chart out a different path for himself and blend action and sentiment in equal measure. Sporting long hair, he also refrains from wooing the sexy and svelte Pooja Hegde (Bhagya), a researcher studying antiques (no, not our 58-year old protagonist!), who comes to stay in his house as a tenant.
Based on the Tamil hit ‘Veeram’, the film, it seems, didn’t have to add or delete much from the original. Director Farhad Samji’s job must have been simple: cut, copy and paste from the original. If there are some interesting characters as supporting cast, they all contribute towards making 144 minutes of the film a tad watchable with their attention-grabbing personalities and presence.
The top layer of the list is Venkatesh, who plays Bhagya’s (Hegde) brother, Rohini Hattangadi as Hegde’s grandmother and Ram Charan in a cameo. This is perhaps Satish Kaushik’s last appearance and as always, he makes you laugh in his natural delightful manner.
Cinematographer V. Manikandan uses his camera techniques to full advantage as several fight sequences take your breath away. Ravi Basrur has composed a few catchy songs which are choreographed in a manner to enhance Hegde’s career as a flexible masala heroine who can also sway to beats with grace.
The film’s length seems unending and this cringe fest goes on uninterruptedly. Many actors who ruled the roost lean into their potential, not just as actors but play it safe and not try anything adventurous that may backfire. Wish we also had scriptwriters who could help actors define the emotional turmoil in middle age, navigate change as an inevitable part of the human experience, and dig into the unexplored graciously!

‘It is my responsibility to bring South Asian community to the forefront’: Priyanka
actress-producer
Priyanka chopra Jonas is all set to be seen in the streaming series ‘citadel,’ in which she plays an elite spy along with Richard Madden.
Priyanka transitioned to the west almost a decade ago as she explored opportunities in music and worked with the likes of Pitbull and will.i.am, and eventually starred in projects like ‘Quantico’ and ‘Baywatch’, with ‘Citadel’ on the horizon.
The actress might have been in the west for quite sometime but she holds her Indian values close to her heart. During an interview, PC said: “India is my identity. Wherever I go in the world, I am an Indian first and then everything else. I take a lot of pride in being born in a country which boasts of an ancient culture and such a mind-blowing mix of people.”
She then factored in the concept of Indian hospitality which is known all over the world as she shared: “And I mean the world knows that nothing can come even remotely close to the Indian hospitality and the senti-
ment of ‘atithi devo bhavah’. So, these are the values that I hold close to my heart and practice in my everyday life because that’s who I am.”
Being an Indian in a sea of American talents, who call the shots in Hollywood, it also gives her a sense of purpose. She
said, “It has been my aim to represent India on the international canvas. People from the South Asian community have been working in the west for very many years but, for some reason they were never given a chance to headline a project or to feature on the posters of an international film, in most of the cases.”
She further mentioned: “When I started working in the west, it became very important for me to bring my community to the forefront and to bring in the recognition for the country which practically is one of the biggest film and entertainment markets. I take it up as my responsibility to ensure that all people from the South Asian community appear on the poster or headline the projects for the English content which is the global content and is viewed in most of the countries.”

By: IANSJennifer Grey says she declined reprising ‘Friends’ role due to ‘bad anxiety’
“I was a fan of the show, and I got the call to do it,” she told Media Village in an interview, reports Deadline.
“Then when I did it, I had such bad anxiety because they kept changing the script. It’s very hard to be a guest star because you’re not a
part of it, and you’re really trying to figure it all out. They were trying to figure out what the character was, what the scene was, and it was changing, and changing, and changing. It all made me so anxious that I could barely do it.”
Grey played Mindy, Rachel’s (Jenni-
fer Aniston) former bestie and maid of honour who was having a secret affair with her fiance Barry. When Rachel escapes her wedding in the pilot episode, Barry takes Mindy on the honeymoon he was originally going on with Rachel.
When Barry and Rachel meet up again, they talk things out and opt to give their relationship another shot. However, this time, Mindy is engaged to marry Barry and Rachel turns out to be the other woman. Mindy and Rachel then team up to confront Barry and his cheating ways.
The Dirty Dancing star said that while on Friends, she “had a lot of performance anxiety” and although she didn’t know what was happening with herself, she knew she needed help.
Grey was asked back and reprise her role on the successful NBC sitcom but declined to make a comeback with the role recast with Jana Marie Hupp.
“When they asked me to come back, I said I couldn’t,” she said. “They got someone else to play the role. It makes me sad that I would say no to continuing on Friends or doing Saturday Night Live because of my anxiety. The truth is, I wished I had people to help me navigate that kind of fear. But I couldn’t be there until I was there.”
Despite not returning to Friends, Grey said that she learned from the experience, adding: “In life, I always learn more from things that you feel like a failure at, and the successes, you don’t learn as much, although, they might be fun. But it’s all a part of life.”

By: IANSWhy are committed partners seeking extramarital affairs?
Marriages have been considered sacred without much emphasis on what constitutes a happy marriage. However, the reality is that committed partners are increasingly seeking extramarital affairs due to various complex and interrelated reasons.
Arecent survey digs deeper into the top reasons for infidelity and the evolved relationship dynamics that they are witnessing today.
Physical attraction toward the other person
This is the most common reason for infidelity. Many people cheat on their partners because they are physically attracted to someone else. According to the survey, people’s private events and parties were the most common occasions for committing infidelity at 26 per cent while social media stood next at 25 per cent, and infidelity committed on dating apps for singles amounted to 19 per cent. This shows that it is easier for people to feel attracted to someone in a social setting and succumb to temptation.
lack of attention from the official partner
When partners feel ignored, unappreciated, or unloved, they may seek attention and affection elsewhere. This is especially true when there are communication breakdowns in the relationship. The survey highlights that a lack of emotional support was cited as the second most common reason for infidelity and 57 per cent of responders affirmed having been unfaithful to their partner at least once out of which 45 per cent of cheating occurs during the first year of a relationship.
feelings
Sometimes people cheat on their partners because they develop strong emotional connections with someone else. This can happen when people share common interests or deeply connect with someone. 44 percent of respondents in the survey believe it’s possible to be in love with two people at the same time. This indicates that emotional infidelity is a common phenomenon.
Desire to spark a new romance
Monogamy can be challenging, and some people feel the need to expe-
rience the thrill of a new romance. According to the survey, 37 per cent of respondents think it’s possible to cheat on a partner and still be in love with them, indicating that some people cheat simply for the excitement of a new relationship.
lack of sexual satisfaction
Sexual dissatisfaction can be a significant driver of infidelity and this holds especially true since 41 per cent declare that even after having regular sex, they are not to be fully satisfied and 55 per cent fancy being intimate with someone other than their partners. When people
feel sexually unfulfilled in their relationships, there is a common tendency that may seek physical intimacy elsewhere.
Other motivations include the desire to engage in physical contact with the person they like, the need to demonstrate their continued seductiveness, and the desire to exact vengeance on an unfaithful partner. It’s important to remember that these causes of adultery are complicated, and many of them may be connected to one another.

Giving up sugar probably won’t improve your health more than eating fewer ultra-processed foods, more vegetables, preparing your own meals, and cutting back on added sugar. The sugar-free diet enforces an arbitrary set of recommendations that aren’t backed up by research and is, at best, unclear. Keep in mind that health is about more than just the figure on the scale, our waistline, or the foods we avoid. Our mental and emotional well-being, as well as how we connect to food, are equally as important as our physical health.
How to avoid excess sugar?
Hence, if your objective is to reduce weight, it is good to limit your sugar intake. You do not, however, have to abstain entirely from sugar. These are some strategies to reduce excessive consumption:
Keep sweets concealed from fresh fruits and vegetables in plain sight. Try to take plain water, unsweetened drinks, and diet beverages rather than sugar ones.
Consume low-carb marinades
The most essential thing is to keep some sweets in your diet. Later, when binges are more probable, there are more calories from sugar. Keep in mind that the total amount of calories is what matters. However, consuming fewer calories generally by cutting back on sugar and substituting more fiber or non-caloric sweeteners will help
you lose weight.
Cutting off sweet food is harmful
Numerous sugar-free diets advocate eliminating or restricting wholesome foods and food categories like fruit and dairy without any supporting data. This perpetuates the pattern of food anxiety and dietary limitations and could lead to vitamin deficiencies. consumption of lactose that comes naturally from dairy products.
How to stop craving sugary foods?
Many people think that all sugar should be avoided, even the natural sugar found in foods like fruits and cereals. You don’t
need to restrict or prevent consuming these sugars. These sugars differ from table sugar in the manner they are presented.
Table sugar is produced by extracting and processing natural sugar. Your body can process this sugar the easiest. On the other side, the sugar found in fruits or starches has a longer chain length. Your body will feel fuller for longer thanks to these complex carbohydrates. So, the next time you want something sweet, reach for a berry.
How do diet changes help in weight loss?
Making these changes gradually is one of the best ways to have a long-lasting change, though.
Do not make a sudden diet change. Instead of simple carbs like refined flour, which is used to manufacture the majority of desserts like sandwiches, ice cream among others, include more whole grains in your diet. When you are desiring sugar, have nuts, dark chocolate, berries, banana, coconut, raw honey, dates, apple sauce, and jaggery along with a few pieces of almonds. You can make some healthy recipes with natural sugar like:
Sugar-free granola: Filled with the goodness of high-fiber oats, yogurt, protein-rich flax seeds, and almonds, sugar-free granola is the ideal, healthy dessert for diets..
Ragi Mulpua: A sweet treat made from ragi and oat flour, milk, coconut, honey, and fruit. An Indian pancake with a healthy twist is called ragi Mulpua.
Halwa made from sweet potatoes is the ideal solution for your sweet needs. It is not only delicious but also loaded with health advantages.
Dr Siddhant BhargavaThe future of wearable technology
wearable technology has been the most remarkable advancement in the market, despite there being many other noteworthy developments. Surprisingly, the two challenging years of seclusion have increased our awareness of technology and our health. We became aware of the value of a strong immune system and the capacity to critically analyze the Internet during the epidemic. People used screens to interact with their loved ones and keep tabs on their Covid statuses.
People are spending more money on nutrition and fitness than ever in the post-pandemic period. We can link to biometric and movement-tracking sensors - thanks to wearable technology. Numerous methods have been used to verify the invention. This explains why the concept is being backed by so many companies.
The future of wearable technology
Technology is constantly evolving. We are exposed to new innovations every minute. In this competitive environment, wearable technology might not be a phenomenon in a few years. Smart watches shall also endure future ups and downs. In a short period, visual elements shall evolve and may become as common as clothing and footwear.
Energy harvesting, i.e., running devices on solar power or converting body heat and
movement into raw power, can change the world of wearable technology. That is the future!
Contribution to the healthcare industry
The healthcare industry has a plethora of futuristic aspirations and wearable technology implementations. Medical devices that monitor real-time biometrics have seized a significant portion of the market. This is a compelling argument for advancing technology for the benefit of health.
Businesses and investors are already working globally to develop and market devices that can monitor, diagnose, and provide remedies for individuals. In addition, efforts have been made to create a device that can be implanted
beneath the skin to monitor drugs, blood-oxygen levels, and other critical signs. This is a remarkable achievement in aiding and supporting persons with chronic diseases.
Authentication
Similar to tech giants such as WhatsApp and Tesla they prioritise safety and security by requiring two-factor authentication and digital keys rather than physical keys for user identification and authentication.
Wearable technology in the coming years can make use of the user’s biometrics to authenticate the account instead of adding details and going through a set of information for the same.
Wrapping up!
Everything that operates on the digital radar is the fu-
ture. Some of us still live in traditional ways, but at the end of the day, we are all tied to technology in some way. It has changed the way we manage our daily routines over time. Our daily activities have been a piece of cake, from ordering groceries online to scheduling medical tests.
While the aforementioned talks are eagerly anticipated by the industry, some forecasts about wearable technology may turn out to be muted. They must be as practical as feasible according to designers. Over time, we expect to notice noticeable improvements in our charming wrist doctors!
By: Varun GuptaSelf-driving cars, the Internet of things, and augmented and virtual reality have all revolutionised a variety of industries in recent years.
