Dear

Designers

Bathroom & Kitchen renovation is on the rise: high opportunity area for Designers in saturated markets. Surfaces Reporter foresees good growth in demand for this in FY 2016-17!

It gives me great pleasure to bring forth to you the 2nd edition of Tiles & Bath Special Issue. It wouldn’t have come to exist, had it not have received immense positive response from you, our avid readers. Today Surfaces Reporter is regarded as a premier magazine for information on products, designs & materials. Tiles have always had a special place and we love to explore this versatile and superb material through our stories. Check out the material exploration by Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Also do not miss the tantalizing Tile Trends of 2016. This time around, we are also pleased to announce the inclusion of Kitchens in this issue. We take you through what makes Ultra luxury Kitchens and the 10 Innovations that changed the Kitchen design-world in the last decade. Renovation of Bathrooms and Kitchens is what Surfaces Reporter can see as big opportunity for budding designers and architects in metros and tier-II cities. Your innovative approach to design and better understanding of clients’ need can fetch bigger projects while good work for Bath/ Kitchen project may act as entry gate for fetching bigger work. Renovation work is demanding and need more involvement. Focus and attention to cater special remodelling work is missing in general. Understand that the family living there are already aware about the issues they wish to sort out but are looking for solutions beyond just a great look or installing couple of branded products here & there. Surprise & thrill your clients with amazing work! Just to help designers in understanding this a bit more, we have on board, guest contributor for this edition, designer Christopher Grubb from California. He has shared a couple of bath renovation projects with interesting before-after comparisons. Hope you will find it fascinating! Moving on, as we eagerly approach the Milan Design Week in April, I hope to see many of you there. Also, note that you can share your pick of "best designs from Milan," for our "100 designs from Milan" Special Issue! Last but not the least, registrations are open for Women Architects & Designers Event and Award (WADe, 14th May, New Delhi, www.fwwad.com).

Wishing you a growth filled New Financial Year 2016-17 :)
