Registration closing soon. www.wadeasia.com With Surfaces Reporter as the knowledge Partner of WADe Asia, I welcome all of you to join WADe 2018! WADe Asia was formed to be a common ground for women in architecture, art and design, to meet, network, learn, and to document the work of architects, interior designers, and artists. WADe is the celebration of Women-led Development. Conceptualized in 2013, the platform was realized in 2016 with the inauguration by Dr Kiran Bedi, a woman of substance herself.
“Amidst managing professional commitments, family responsibilities and self, networking sub-consciously takes a backseat. WADe Asia is trying to bridge that gap.” In our years of experience in the industry, we realised that the women hardly network. It is not because there is scarcity of networking platforms. Something always comes-up that ranks above networking in a women’s priority list. The truth is, amidst managing professional commitments, family responsibilities and self, networking sub-consciously takes a backseat. WADe Asia is working to bridge that gap.
topics, where the audience could connect with their speakers on a deeper level, meeting the person from an entirely new perspective. WADe is committed to bring joy, hope and inspiration to every eye that designs & dreams, by bringing on a common platform unsaid stories of women who made it possible and how they made it possible.
WADe Asia: Not just an event, but a movement! Although the WADe Asia movement has gained immense love and earned precious trust, it has just started and there is a long way to the vision. The appreciation has only raised the bars, and the responsibility is much higher now. With massive participation from India, WADe will also have strong representation from several neighbouring countries. Get ready for a lot of meetings with young and seasoned designers, inspiring artists, vast display of projects, art, listen to stories of top architects & designers, masterclasses for start-ups, media & shoots, with a decent dose of entertainment & fun during WADe Asia 2018. I am looking forward to listen, learn, hug, unlearn, connect and lead with you in WADe Asia 2018. Rise and Shine
There is a lot of need for women to meet and interact with each other. It is important for young ones to get an opportunity to listen to their Role Models. There is need for assurance that things are possible. There is a need to meet women in flesh & blood who have broken glass ceilings that others thought was impossible. WADe Asia is not just a platform of Seminars, Exhibitions and WADe Awards to recognize WADe Women. Each year, Team WADe works hard to design the event in a manner that can have maximum exchange of ideas, experiences, opinions and stories. WADe ASIA 2017 had certain extremely engaging

Even the mighty oak starts as a small acorn. However, it consistently pushes, relentlessly stretches, and gives it all it has to gradually transform into the mighty wood - the destiny it was meant for.
The story of The Hiranandani Group, an ISO 9001-2008, Bureau Veritas certified organisation and the unrivalled global real estate conglomerate of today is no different. The Hiranandani brand, which is the pioneer and the synonym of luxury skyscrapers in India was humbly co-founded by Niranjan Hiranandani, CMD, Hiranandani Communities, the middle of three brothers – the elder one Navin Hiranandani and younger sibling Surendra Hiranandani. They say, genius is sometimes in genes too. Niranjan Hiranandani, who completed his FCA is a qualified chartered accountant by profession, inherited the grit and galore from his father Sh Lakhumal Hiranandani, who was an ENT surgeon and a Padma Bhushan awardee. It all entrepreneur-ed with a textile weaving unit at Charkop in Kandivali in the early 80s’ when Dr Hiranandani left his first job as an accounting teacher to take the road less travelled by. Few years down the line, the dreamy eyed Piscean forayed into the real estate ecosphere to launch his first project of 250 acres in Powai by the name of Hiranandani Gardens. Little did he knew, that he has naively ventured onto a path which will lead him to create a legacy, unheard, unseen, and uniquely urbane.
The Hiranandani Group today is spearheaded by Niranjan Hiranandani - ‘India’s builder extraordinaire’, who has redefined the art of architecture by neatly crafting the brand as a name to reckon with luxury landscapes, panoramic environs, and lush interiors warmly wrapped with modern day global luxuries and technological frills. The Forbes lists Dr Niranjan as the 85th richest man in India and 1561st among the world billionaires with a realtime net worth of $1.47 Billion in March 2018. Apart from managing and broadening his business empire magnanimously, Dr Hiranandani is a sensitive soul within, and has pro-actively contributed towards causes and initiatives of binding the social fabric relentlessly while simultaneously enlightening and spearheading various other private-public initiatives. A glimpse of his extra-curricular activities and triumphs look like this: Serves as a Chairman of the housing committee of FICCI Serves as a Chairman of the Real Estate and Infrastructure Committee of Indian Merchant Chambers [IMC] President – National – National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) Being immensely spiritually in his innate thoughts, Dr Hiranandani is a trustee of the Nathdwara Temple Drafted a policy for Slum Rehabilitation in Mumbai aimed to improve the living environ of over six million slum-ers August 2018 | www.surfacesreporter.com | 4
Surfaces Reporter On the board of HUDCO [Housing and Urban Development Corporation], which invests over US $ 3 billion each year to build and fund the most economical homes for the under-privileged and low-income groups. Served as an advisor to the Government of India on the Housing and Habitat Policy for over a decade. The Hiranandani Group imbibes and practices the philosophy of customer delight and astonishment, has truly a buyer-centric approach, mirror like clarity in transactions, and rock-solid commitment to create stunning experiences which engage, emulate, and emote. The last three and a half decades have been absolutely fulfilling, and he ardently believes, his best is yet to come, shared Dr Niranjan Hiranandani during one of the recent cappuccino encounters with Vertica Dvivedi, CEO and Editor-in-Chief, Surfaces Reporter and Founder of WADe Asia. Vertica shared, she could evidently see the twinkling dreams, and ‘a come what may’ attitude in his eyes, when they were discussing the journey so far and the path ahead for The Hiranandani Group. The master-planned luxurious green communities of today’s Powai and Thane regions were absolutely barren landscapes when Dr Hiranandani decided to urbanise it. And since then, the destiny, aura and worth of these areas have been sky rocketing. The group owns immense pride and expertise in converting these junk expanses into enviable, alive, ultra-modern, and ultra-premium mixed-use townships with the best of the worldly luxurious amenities. The communities developed do not include greenery as just one of the feel-good elements, instead the townships in itself are a sub-head of the dense green troposphere. The group’s keen focus and belief on preserving the nature, while injecting it in the daily lives clearly reflects in its efforts in biomethanation plants, rain water harvesting systems, 100% sewage recycling, horticulture units, and nurseries of global standards. The zeal to create green urbanism is not merely an emotional bent but is righteously backed by the cutting-edge technologies to create buildings which reflect vibrant imagination, sharp craftsmanship, and impeccable implementation with attention to the microscopic details to be in sync with nature. Being visionary and accurately intuitive, is probably a lesser found trait in the society. And that may be the reason, we see so little success around. However, Dr Hiranandani was blessed to have the blend and that is the reason he is known to adopt and implement avant-garde technologies and processes as early as in 1989 some of which were later enforced in the real estate laws for the industry. Usage of Fly Ash in concrete, copper plumbing, 100% packaged sewage treatments plants and planting aboriginal kind of trees and shrubs which serve as a home to rare birdies are just some of the must haves’ in all the Hiranandani creations. Apart from the flagship business of construction, the Hiranandani Group has vividly diversified itself into the territories of energy infrastructure, building natural gas pipelines, gas storage terminals, horticulture, entertainment, hospitality, retail, education, and health care. Driven by the philosophy of ‘Mens Sana In Corpore Sano’ in Latin, which means ‘a sound mind in a sound body’, he also manages 17 colleges, 2 hospitals, and the ‘Hiranandani Foundation School,’ one of the finest co-educational ICSE institution in the country. The group has made its mark in the international market too with its first footprint in Marina, Dubai with a 395 meter edifice, a 90 storied neo-lifestyle residential tower, with the most convenient location one could ever dream of. The “23 Marina” Tower is built to impress the “God of Luxury”, a genuine show-stopper, and is 47 meters higher than “The Torch”, which was until recently the tallest tower of the world.

The group keenly understands the impact of research and development to stay relevant. The management allocates and invests substantial amount of budgets in hiring the right resources, who ensure that the stringent construction standards of The Hiranandani Group are specifically met - from designing to delivering. This team is also accountable for sensing and addressing all the leaks, sharpen the processes, innovate, and develop systems to pleasantly surprise its customers and leave them with a ‘delighted to the core’ experience. The group’s ethical code of conduct is simple and the group’s Corporate Governance Policy clearly advocates that. The Hiranandani group is meticulously knit with the best resources and has one of the most dynamic, capable, and an enthusiastic squad in the luxury real estate fraternity. Dr Hiranandani and the

Dr Niranjan Hiranandani is married to Mrs Kamal Hiranandani and has two children – daughter Priya and son Darshan. Long trips, fitness, and attending social gatherings are his favourite pastimes. The group is keen and devoted to craft communities which radiate a sense of warmth and comfort, good health, happiness, and foster a holistic vision for a better life. Led by an ardent leader with a global vision, The Hiranandani Group has all the vital elements in place, to propel its growth in the times to come, and allow the group to serve wider and diversified geographies and humanities.
