This year will be remembered for… Dusty Payne bearding his way to the 2015 WCT and Michel Bourez’s everything.

And is know for… Deciding the World Title and the qualifiers for next year’s tour. That, and being the most prestigious event in surfing.

And loved for… Barrels. Tubes. Caves. Tunnels. Pits. Enclaves. Crevices. Every other noun that describes a section of hollow space until it starts sounding like you’re talking about vaginas.

But hated for… Breaking people.

This year will be remembered for… Gabriel Medina’s first Title and Julian Wilson ending an ugly year on a pretty note.

N OW WHAT? We rest. The ASP dies, but everything besides the name lives on as the WSL — the World Surf League. Gabriel Medina and Brazil celebrate their first world title. John John and Kolohe train more. Parko and Mick sigh. Taj sighs even harder.
