The celebrity charity show took place on November 29th at Hurtwood Park Polo Club, offering a mix of music, entertainment and runway shows from top Surrey boutiques including Ellu Amour, Skinner & Vale, House of Poochie, Howard & Co. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are NOT putting on a united front in the wake of claims that Harry wants to return to the Royal Family to bolster support for his charity work.
In the last 6 weeks, the Duke & Duchess of Sussex have not worked or attended events together, which is normally a prerequisite for the ‘happy’ couple.
In fact, it has been the exact opposite, with Harry was seen out at the Invictus Games promotion and at the Grey Cup in Canada (minus Meghan) and Meghan was out in LA for the launch of her pal Kadi Lee’s haircare line (without Harry).
Royal writer Richard Eden has claimed that Palace insiders “have made clear” that Harry wants to return to the Royal Family.
And in response a royal courtier claims that “if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are prepared to give up their private work they would be welcomed back.”

Since officially leaving royal duties in 2020, Meghan and Harry have been the source of a number of shocking revelations about life inside the Windsor household, including the scandalous Oprah Winfrey TV interview, Prince Harry’s tell-all book ‘Spare’ and their Netflix documentary.

ZOE REVEALS ALL ABOUT HER PAINFUL JAW DISEASE
BBC Radio 2 DJ Zoe Ball has opened up about suffering from a painful jaw condition called TMJ that causes her “awful headaches”.
Alongside the post on Instagram, she wrote: “I have TMJ and wake most days with awful headaches from tension and jaw clenching.”
She also revealed to her social media following that her pal Helen has helped her heal from the condition.
“So grateful to Helen @thesculptresslondon for her magic. This is my face after I’ve seen her, check out my face before – yikes – picture 2.”

Celebs were out in force at Surrey Fashion Week 2024 (SFW24) on Friday 29th November where the glitzy celebrity charity catwalk show saw 'Top Boy', 'Bond', 'This Morning', 'EastEnders', 'X Factor', 'The Worst Witch' and 'Death In Paradise' stars strutting their stuff on the glittering runway, which was all filmed for TV.
The red-carpet concept event saw a magical mix of music, fashion and Christmas shopping taking place at Hurtwood Park Polo Club in collaboration with Fabulously Festive.

LIAM PAYNE’S FUNERAL
Liam Payne’s funeral took place on Wednesday 20th November at St Mary’s Church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire.
Among the high-profile celebrities in attendance were music mogul Simon Cowell, ex-girlfriend Cheryl Tweedy and Liam’s ‘One Direction’ bandmates; Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik - who put their differences aside to pay their respects to their band “brother,” as they called him.
Other celebrities included TV host and ‘Gavin & Stacey’ actor James Corden, former professional footballer Robbie Keane, JLS singer Marvin Humes and his wife Rochelle, Elizabeth Hurley’s son Damien, BBC Radio 2 Breakfast host Scott Mills, Capital DJ’s Chris Stark and Jordan North, Liam’s girlfriend and social media influencer Kate Cassidy. Supporting their former bandmate Cheryl, ‘Girl Aloud’ stars Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, were also there to pay their respects.
A horse-drawn carriage took the dark blue coffin to the church. The coffin was topped with white roses and a red floral tribute which read “son” and a blue floral tribute saying “daddy”.

Just ahead of Thanksgiving, Jennifer Garner shared the sad news of her favourite pet’s passing.
‘The 13 Going on 30’ actress announced the death of her golden retriever dog named Birdie, who she welcomed into her life just after her break up from Ben Affleck in 2015.

RECIPE
STEAK & ALE PIE
The Hairy Bikers Steak & Ale pie recipe is really easy to follow and delicious too for those colder Winter months. You can't beat good, hearty British grub for a bit of comfort food and Si and Dave don't disappoint with this famous recipe.
INGREDIENTS
• 900g stewing steak, diced
• 25g flour, plus extra for dusting
• 100g butter
• 2 onions roughly chopped
• 2 cloves of garlic, roughly chopped
• 2 medium carrots, roughly chopped
• 150g button mushrooms
• 2 sprigs fresh thyme
• 400ml good-quality ale
• 500ml beef stock
• Salt and pepper
• 1 egg, beaten for glazing
• 300g ready-made rolled puff pastry
METHOD:
1. Preheat the oven to 220°C/428°F/ Gas Mark 7.
2. Pour flour into a bowl and season well. Coat the meat with the seasoned flour.
3. Heat half the butter in a heated pan and add the meat. Sear all over until golden brown.
4. Add the vegetables, herbs, ale and stock. Bring to a simmer, then cover with a lid and gently simmer for 1 hr. When
cooked, season, add the remaining butter and pour into an ovenproof serving dish.
5. Brush the edge of the dish with the beaten egg. Roll out the pastry using a little flour as possible and place over the dish. Pinch the edges of the dish so that the pastry will stick to it and trim off any remaining pieces of pastry from around the edge. Brush the pastry top thoroughly with the remaining beaten egg and place on a baking tray.
6. Bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
WINE MATCH
For a classic meal like Steak & Ale Pie with its rich and full flavours try an equally powerful and full-bodied wine such as Australian Shiraz or California Cabernet Sauvignon. These have pronounced body and structure so they won’t feel dull next to the richness of the pie and their earthy, spicy fruit flavours will also add a bit of a kick.
While there´s no doubt a good ale (generally the same one you have used in the making of the pie) goes down well with this dish, as mushrooms are a central feature, a robust red pinot noir would also work incredibly well with these flavours.

MUSAFA: THE LION KING
This breathtakingly beautiful CGI-animated prequal to the 2019 film ‘The Lion King’ centres around Simba’s fallen father Mufasa and follows his amazing journey as a lost and alone orphan cub, to him meeting young prince Taka, the heir to the royal bloodline.
Mufasa and Taka’s chance meeting at the beginning of the film sets in motion an expansive journey with a group of misfits; including the reprised classic characters Pumbaa the warthog, voiced by the hilarious Seth Rogan and Timon the meerkat played by the talented Billy Eichner.
Taka is not who he seems however and turns out to be the villainous Scar – setting the plotline for the original ‘Lion King’ that fans know and love.
Simba and Nala (from the first film) are also featured. This second outing also showcases Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter, in her first ever film role - aged only 12 - who voices the part of Kiara, alongside her mum Beyonce who plays the part of lioness Nala.
Oscar winner Barry Jenkins, behind the hit series ‘True Detective’ and award-winning film ‘Aftersun’ directs the film with panache and eloquence.
‘Mufasa : The Lion King’ is set to be released in cinemas nationwide on December 20th, exactly 20 years since Disney’s original ‘Lion King’ animated movie was first released in cinemas in 1994.
A great, emotive yet feel-good movie that the whole family can enjoy in the lead up to Christmas.
MISSIONARY: SNOOP DOG & DR. DRE
Album number 20 ‘Missionary’ from rapper Snoop Dog, produced by best pal Dr. Dre, is finally being released on December 13th 2024 - following years of media speculation. The album was first hinted by Snoop on social media at the end of 2022. He finally let slip that ‘Missionary’ was in the works during an appearance on Stephen Smith's podcast, ‘Know Mercy’ in the early part of 2023:

Rihanna is back with a bang - with her long-waited ninth studio album ‘R9’ - the follow-up to her 2016 album ‘ANTI’ dropping soon.
While an official release date has not been given at the time of going to press many believe it will drop this month or in January 2025. The album is said to be a doubledisc release, as Rihanna indicated she was working on 2 albums, one being “full of chart-friendly songs” and the other being “made up of moody and experimental tracks.”

Prior to getting with her baby Daddy A$AP Rocky, the ‘Diamonds’ singer had been in and out of relationships with high profile stars for years, including a well-publicised relationship with Chris Brown that ended after 2 years in 2009 when the ‘Freaky Friday’ hitmaker physically assaulted Rihanna. She then had a seven-year, on-off relationship with Drake and a 2015 fling with rapper Travis Scott as well as dating baseball player Matt Kemp for just under a year.

Surrey Rocks Editor, Sam Matthews, went to see Dr Theodora Bravis in November and after a 20-minute consultation and scan of her teeth (to create a personalised mouth guard) she was on her way.
Within 2 weeks she was able to come back for her Zoom Whitening procedure.
Although she was nervous after hearing scary stories of painful tooth whitening methods a few years ago, Dr Bravis made her feel instantly relaxed. A guard was fitted to expose
her teeth, a liquid hydrogen peroxide whitening gel applied to the teeth and a gum protector cream was applied to protect the sometimes sensitive area - and the first of the 15-minute Zoom laser sessions began.
“The experience was completely pain free and didn’t even feel uncomfortable,” Sam revealed (with a huge sigh of relief!).
“After every 15 minutes on the Zoom laser, a new application of gel and protector was applied. This was great as it broke up the treatment into manageable segments. After the full hour of whitening with the laser, the results were phenomenal!”
Dr Bravis did say Sam was a great candidate and her results were very impressive.
“When I held up the mirror at the end of the treatment, I did shed a tear! I looked so much better. My teeth were easily the 8 shades brighter, Dr Bravis had hoped the treatment would give me. I cannot thank her enough. Prior to this, I had smiled and tried not to show my teeth. After I was smiling all the time without covering up. I cannot recommend this treatment enough,” Sam said.

Surrey Fashion Week (SFW) was founded by co-founded by celebrity cover journalist/ TV producer Angela Sara West and editor of Surrey Rocks Magazine, Sam Matthews.
Launched in 2021 by Sam, Angela and Surrey's very own Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and her pro model husband Max Rogers - a 'Britain's Top Model' judge. The glitzy red-carpet celebrity runway shows have since seen BBC ‘Strictly’ stars open the show, two-time ‘Strictly’ champ Oti Mabuse – currently a contestant down under in ‘The Jungle’ - on front row, and BRIT Awardwinning S Club 7 star Jo O’Meara headline launching new music.
SFW’s diverse and inclusive runways have also been graced by Hollywood stars, Bollywood stars, Surrey soap stars and EMMY-winning teen actors.

These range from more moderately priced Sauvignons and Shiraz’ to the more luxurious taste of the French Rhone, Châteauneuf-Du-Pape.
LOVE LOCAL
The Golden Bull Steakhouse is an independently-owned, family restaurant set up by firm Surrey-based friends, Teo and Arti, which is always good to see.
You do always get those extra personal touches with thriving independents that you sometimes lack with larger chain restaurants, including inventive menus and superb staff that really care about the business.
With that in mind, a special mention has to go to the delightful operations manager, Enea, who was great fun and incredibly helpful and our waiter on the day, Robbie, who mixes the best cocktails and gave us fabulous food and wine recommendations. Read on to find out more about the new restaurant taking Camberley by storm.
RESTAURANT REVIEW
SUBLIME STARTERS
We were presented with an enticing option of 16 different Starters and Sharing Platters to begin our Sunday afternoon feast. There is literally everything you could ever palatially desire on this diverse and creative menu.
As we knew we were opting for a Steak for main (when in Rome!) we decided to go for the ‘BBQ Chicken Wings’ to start - which were perfectly cooked with a crispy skin and coated in a classic BBQ sauce with a hint of spice, served on a bed of leaves with a blue cheese dip and garnished with sliced red chillies. Delicious and tender with a fiery kick, just what we needed on this cold Wintery day.
NOW ONTO MAINS
Despite being billed as a Steakhouse, Golden Bull has so much more to offer its guests. This includes Burgers, Ribs, Chicken, Pork Belly, Lamb Shanks, Fish Dishes, Salads and Vegan options. As well as a delicious Sunday Roast with giant Yorkshires and all the trimmings. In total we counted 38 Mains. Wow!
As we were in Rome/Camberley we knew we had to try the Steak. In short, we could choose from Black Angus, Rump, Fillet, Ribeye, Tomahawk, Porterhouse T-Bone or Chateaubriand in 12 different ways.
Next up we went for the ‘Garlic King Prawns’ which were succulent, large and plentiful! Seven king prawns were marinated in a white wine, fresh garlic and chilli sauce served on a toasted sourdough bruschetta topped with freshly-chopped, vine tomatoes.
There is also Starter treats such as Scallops, Calamari, Soups, Salads, Pitta & Dips as well as Baked Camembert and Loaded Nachos. Something for everyone.
As we had indulged in reasonably large Starters we went for the ‘Black Angus Chateaubriand Aged 50 Days’ which came in at a reasonable £69.95 for 16oz (serving 2). We opted for Medium Rare and it was the softest, most melt-in-themouth steak we have ever tried. A truly 5-star dish.
This also came with a choice of two sides and two sauces included. The choices here are endless too. For sides - thick cut chips, skinny fries, sweet potato fries, mixed salad, mixed greens, Mediterranean veg and feta and for sauces – beef dripping and red wine, peppercorn, bernaise, blue cheese and chimichurri.
The skinny fries we ordered were perfect, crispy with skin on
and the vegetables were kale, peas and broccoli, cooked al dente. On the recommendation of Robbie we went for beef dripping sauce and blue cheese – both were great and plentiful.
And then there are even more additional accompaniments including the irresistible ‘Lobster Mac & Cheese,’ normal ‘Mac & Cheese,’ ‘Homemade Onion Rings’ and ‘Garlic Mushrooms’.
We went for the ‘Lobster Mac & Cheese’ to go with the Chateaubriand and it did not disappoint. Lashings of lobster, grilled cheese and pasta in a beautifully presented, copper side pan.
DESSERT HEAVEN
There are 10 great dessert choices ranging from Chocolate Brownie, New York Cheesecake, Eton Mess and Apple Pie. As we were verging on being full we shared a ‘Sticky Toffee Pudding’ which came with custard and/ or ice-cream. We had both!
It was sticky, sweet and perfectly moist. Just the right amount of toffee sauce and decorated with fresh fruit and garnished with mint.
COCKTAILS & WINE
To go with this superb meal we started with 2 cocktails… the ‘Passion Fruit Martini’ and the ‘Coconut Berry Bliss’ – both were served beautifully and were light and refreshing. Next up we opted for the Dona Paula 2023 Malbec from
Argentina to go with our steak main. It was fruity, smooth and had hints of vanilla, suiting the Chateaubriand perfectly. Thank you to Robbie for the great recommendation.

GETTING INTO
We officially kicked off the festive season with a magical trip to the Fabulously Festive event at Hurtwood Park Polo Club in Surrey.
Arriving late morning, we started our day at the Elves Workshop before meeting Father Christmas. I can honestly say this was the most impressive Santa visit I've experienced yet - even better than our trip to the real Lapland. Santa looked the part, remembered every detail I'd submitted ahead of time, and was wonderfully entertaining. We left with a keepsake family photo and a thoughtful little gift, which my 10-year-old absolutely loved.
Lunchtime offered plenty of choices, and the caterers were incredibly accommodating of my son's dairy allergy, ensuring a stress-free meal. With mulled wine in hand, we relaxed by the cosy, open firepit in the

DILEMMAS IN
How much misogyny and racialism is there within the dating arena? When you think about how London and the UK are believed to be one of the most diverse and inclusive locations around the globe, it still surprises me how many blatantly racist and misogynistic issues arise within my industry.
Think about it, in what other arena, in 2024 going on 2025, would people be allowed to stipulate what ethnicity they will/will not be prepared to consider dating? Yet still on most dating apps and matchmaking enrolments this is still something that is routinely asked.
IN THE DATING INDUSTRY
I can empathise that within a relationship seeking situation, people often have different personal tastes and I’m all for being respectful to someone’s wishes in trying to match them to suitors who match some of their preferences. But where should we be drawing the line in terms of our questions?
If a client blatantly tells you they are not attracted to certain ethnicities, should that still be allowed to happen?
Should a matchmaker or dating app algorithm blindly accept that information and only conjure up matches suiting the clients request?
When men in their late 40’s/50’s and even 60’s tell you they are not attracted to women in the same age range and only want to date women 15/20 years younger, should we be nodding and assure them we shall pander to their requests?
Should dating apps not have an alert ‘misogyny’ flag raised when a man only requests to see much younger women?
Should matchmakers reject a paying male client who refuses to be introduced to women nearer his age?
If the western world is really so tuned towards diversity and eradicating misogyny, what can be done to move the dating sector towards a more inclusive society?
