A pre-degree programme integrated with the full-time study programme. You will explore a number of creative practices and theories, while being challenged to design and develop your work. Create patterned fabrics using dyes, print blocks, stencils and silk screens. All equipment and basic materials are supplied, and most techniques can be used at home once the basics are mastered. You will also be shown how to make your fabrics into purses, bags and cushions.
This course will start from the ground up! Learn how master etchers such as Rembrandt used acids and metal plates to produce brilliant prints. Explore dry-point etching, the use of copper sulphate and advanced techniques. Printing paper and extra (non-demo) plates are not included in the course fee but can be purchased from Plaza Art Supplies.

Working with metals, you will learn a range of jewellery techniques and making skills. You will learn practical skills in developing personal ideas and creating unique artefacts, having the opportunity to exhibit your work, building up a portfolio and gaining a level 2 qualification on completion.
