The rise in enthusiasm for sports – boosted by the London 2012 Olympics – has brought about massive employment opportunities. You could benefit by coaching a host of activities to people of all ages or as a personal trainer, or supervising a busy gym. With the sea on our doorstep, opportunities in water sports are a profitable local extra too. Our on-site gym is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, with USB ports on all our FitLinxx cardiovascular and resistance equipment.

Expand your knowledge of the fitness industry. You’ll cover topics such as anatomy, physiology, maintaining a healthy and safe fitness environment, designing exercise programmes and activities, catering for requirements such as age, gender, ability, health conditions, effective communication skills and other barriers to exercise.

This course gives credits towards the Register of Exercise Professionals.

This course will train you to work as a qualified personal trainer. You will learn about anatomy, designing and adapting training programmes, health and safety, physiology, delivering and instructing training programmes, the principals of nutrition, delivering and instructing training programmes and expert motivational techniques. This qualification gives credits towards the Register of Exercise Professionals.

You need to have passed the level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing.

This level 3 qualification will increase your current skill set, allowing you to increase your employment potential.

You will learn the clinical applications of sports massage, the structure and function of the skin, neuroendocrine system and lymphatic system. You’ll also learn how to gather and assess information from clients to apply the appropriate massage techniques and suggest exercises to keep the benefits gained from sports massage therapy.

The course allows entry to the Sports Massage Association’s register.
