The Cuckoo Trail 17

The Cuckoo Trail runs for 14 miles from Heathfield to Hampden Park. It is mostly traffic free and will take you through woodland, open grassland, and pasture. It’s suitable for all ages and abilities making it a great place to walk, run or cycle. Not only is the trail a great place to be more active, it’s also the perfect place to view an array of wildlife. On the trail you might see cuckoos, green woodpeckers or dunnock sparrows, these are just a few possibilities!

If you’re looking to explore beyond the Cuckoo Trail, whether it’s for a short walk or something a little more challenging, Wealden Walks might be for you. Wealden Walks is a collection of over 30 walks available throughout the district, ranging from 2 to 12 miles.

The walks have been tried, tested and recently improved to help explorers of all ages discover Wealden’s hidden gems.
