Community facilities – Abingworth allotments
The new allotments are due be delivered mid2023 and the waiting list for plots is still open –contact the Clerk.

Recycling
The Sussex Green Living recycling bin is available outside the Village Hall every weekday 9.30am11.30am. For details of what materials are accepted, please check the poster on the front door of the Hall or visit our website.
Local volunteering opportunities
If you have time to spare to help others, do look at our Thakeham Parish Community Facebook page, where volunteering opportunities are often posted.
Thakeham community fridge
Help reduce food waste by making use of produce that would have been heading for the bin because it is too close to its sell by date, the packaging might be slightly damaged or the supermarket has surplus stock! Look out for posts on the Thakeham Community Facebook Group www.facebook.com/groups/ thakehamparish
Local groups
Thakeham Gardeners Club are holding their first meeting for 2023 on 13th February. The speaker for the evening is Mark Saunders and he will be discussing Vegetables. The monthly meetings are held in the Chesswood Room at Thakeham Village Hall. Doors open at 7pm and the meeting starts at 7:30pm. For more details contact Gil Quince on 01798 812748.
Thakeham Short Mat Bowls Club meets at the Village Hall on Monday evenings and we welcome new members. Come and learn something new. Email barbara.weir@uwclub.net for more information.
Thakeham Bellringers seek new recruits to join them for regular ringing at St Mary’s church. See our website or contact Christine Hounslow (01798 815993).
