Transport now available for residents to get to the coffee club

‘Cuppa and a Chat’ coffee morning We thought this month we would talk about our ‘Cuppa and a Chat’ coffee morning. This is a new name and a new format. In partnership with Chanctonbury Leisure Centre, we’ve been running a Nostalgia Café –to get residents with dementia, and carers, to come along for a bit of a respite. However, we found that other residents wanted to come along too, so we have gone back to the format of “a cuppa and a chat”. The coffee club is on the third Thursday of every month at Chanctonbury Leisure Centre from 10.30 to 12.30. Hot drinks and biscuits are free, so please come along. Talking to residents, one of the problems for some was getting to the coffee club. So we met with Storrington Community Minibus and discussed the possibility of them working with us to rectify this issue. A plan has been agreed and transport is available. Anyone who would like to use the service please contact 01903 740282 for further details. Also check out the Community Minibus diary – there are some great excursions.

Warden drop-ins and World Book Day

We have completed some Warden drop-ins and thanks to Age UK for their support. Further dropins are arranged throughout the year, so keep an eye out for those.

We are looking forward to World Book Day when our local playgroup, Little Bears, have asked us to read to the children. We are looking forward to this! The children have been told they can pick the books they want us to read to them, so we are going to have to brush up on Julia Donaldson and Roald Dahl.

Thanks for your continued support, and don’t forget to stop and chat when we’re in the village.
