01 Learn Well. Do Well. Do Good.

OUR PROMISE In this brochure, you see KDU’s outstanding pre-university programmes. We are not the biggest school, but we are arguably the best at preparing students for tertiary studies, as seen in the results of our students. No matter where further studies are pursued—Australia, the UK, the US, or Malaysia—KDU’s School of Pre-University Studies provides excellent preparation for a university degree, and a good foundation for life. We are not resting on our laurels, however. As the new Head of School, I lay down this challenge to our students and our staff… Learn well. The true measure of an education goes beyond exam scores, even though our students have a history of doing exceptionally well on exams. As educators, we seek to cultivate the skill of critical thinking in all our students so that they are well-prepared, not only for university, but for a lifetime of learning and discerning. Do well. We challenge all students to excel in their studies -- to do the very best they can and to stay positive in the process. Recent research in psychology from Harvard asserts that those people whose minds are primed to positive outperform others in every measure of performance in school, in play, and at work. Do good. Believing in the value of a well-rounded education and in the virtue of generosity, KDU offers students ways to give and to serve others. Two major events organized every year by the Pre-U School allow students to work together for the benefit of the disadvantaged, especially children. Students and parents, I warmly welcome you to come discover what makes KDU’s School of Pre-University Studies a rewarding learning and living experience. I would be happy to meet you.

KDU was an amazing ride, always filled with a healthy balance of work and play! But what I cherish most is the group of loving, caring and dedicated lecturers who have made my journey a truly special one. It goes without saying that I owe my success to KDU for providing me a wholesome education by truly awesome educators!

Size does matter! – Because KDU is not some massive university, the lecturers know you in person and they are able to assess your performance in your studies accurately. The part I find most helpful is their curriculum structure and teaching methods. The lecturers are really easy to get along with and they love and care about you, so like their own family.

Who would have thought one could learn a lifetime of lessons over such a brief period of time anywhere in the world? Herein KDU, it does happen. This is the place where you learn, discover, grow and hone your character.
