Until 31 October, anyone who enjoys photographing unique experiences and discoveries from the natural world using a

www.digiscoperoftheyear.com. An international jury will judge the photos and select the Digiscoper of the Year 2010. Another new aspect of this year's competition is the addition of a public vote alongside votes cast by the jury. Throughout November, after the competition has closed, all registered users can vote for their 10

favourite images at www.digiscoperoftheyear.com. Together, the ratings awarded by the public add up to one jury vote which will then count towards the selection of Digiscoper of the Year 2010. The jury's selection criteria include the relevance of the subject matter, the aesthetic aspects of the photographs and the sharpness of the image. Photographs that have been digitally manipulated may not be entered into the competition. However, aspects such as contrast, brightness or sharpness may be retouched. Each image entered should be accompanied by a matching photograph taken without a telescope. Detailed conditions of entry and more information about the competition can also be found on the website mentioned above. First prize is a complete SWAROVSKI OPTIK digiscoping kit comprising a magnesium telescope, a wide-angle zoom eyepiece 25-50x W, a telescope rail, a camera adapter and a carbon tripod CT 101 including tripod head DH 101. Second prize is an EL 42 SWAROVISION binocular and third prize is a binocular from the EL 32 series. SWAROVSKI OPTIK will publish the twenty best digiscoping images on the website www.digiscoperoftheyear.com. The photographers will also receive a publication fee of â‚Ź 300 and their names will appear alongside their work.
