SYNAPSE - DOTS Phase 1 DOTS – District Officials Training Seminar Phase 1 was held on 4th May, 2014 at the Veterinary College Auditorium. The event was headed by Rtr. PP Yasodhai – Chairperson and Rtr. Shaik Abdulla – Secretary. The event started by 10 am with Inauguration Ceremony by collaring the DRR Rtr. Ramkumar Raju, followed by lighting the lamp by Rtn. Tamilselvan, Rtn. Sangaran, DRR Rtr. PPPHF Ramkumar Raju, DRRE Rtr. PP PHF Arjun, DRS Rtr. Vijay Sundar, Chairperson Rtr. PP. Yashodai & Secretary Rtr. Shaik Abdulla. MC handled by DRSE Rtr. PP Swathi Sujir. Chairperson Rtr. PP Yashodhai delivered the welcome address, followed by context setting about the event was made by DRRE Rtr. PP Arjun Raja. DRR Rtr. PP PHF Ramkumar Raju addressed the gathering. The Chief Guest for the inauguration Rtn. Gnanavelan, PETS Chairman & Youth Service director for 14-15 addressed the gathering and shared a few thoughts with Rotaractors. Guest of Honor Rtn. Tamilselvan, Chairman – Rotaract 14-15 addressed the gathering, followed by Rtn. Sangaran, Chairman – Rotract 13-14 shared few words. Vote of Thanks was delivered by Rtr. Sheik Abdulla for the Inauguration ceremony. The first session was handled by PDRR Jaby John. He started the session with icebreaking, by introducing Rotaractors with a unique interactive activity. The activity helped the Rotaractors to get to know each other through effective interaction. He also conducted a session on effective communication and carrying the right attitude being district official. The event broke for lunch after an effective session. Followed by lunch, the second session was handled by PDRR Manikandan. He illustrated the leadership qualities 4 | District Secretarial Team 2014-2015
of Rotaractors, also made a presentation of leaders who inspired with their uniqueness, which set an example to the year’s theme. The event ended with valedictory, where Rtn. ISAK Nazar, District Governor 14-15 presided over the event as Chief Guest. DRR Rtr. PP PHF Ramkumar Raju, gave his remarks followed by DRRE Rtr. PP PHF Arjun Raja addressed the gathering. The Valedictory ceremony also had the launch of District theme logo, banner for the year 14-15 which was launched by Chief Guest and pin was launched by Rtn. Tamilselvan, Chairman – Rotaract 14-15. Rtn. ISAK Nazar gave his inspiring address to the Rotaractors, and shared about the person whom he inspired in his life. Rtr. PP Swathi Sujir, DRSE gave her vote of thanks, by thanking the District Rotaract Council 13-14 for the host and the Rotaractors who rendered their hands for the success of the event. National Anthem was sung, followed by the event was adjourned.
SYNAPSE - DOTS Phase 2 DOTS – District Officials Training Seminar Phase 1 was held on May 24th & 25th, 2014 at the YMCA, Yelagiri. The event was headed by Rtr. Vijay Sundar – Additional Chairperson and Rtr. Shaik Abdulla – Secretary. On 24th May 2014, Rotaractors assembled at Rotary Centre and the bus departed by 7am towards Yelagiri. The session handled by Past Rotaractor Manoj Koundanya, where he started the activity with a memory game in the bus during the travel, and stopped at Kancheepuram for breakfast. The bus reached the venue by 2pm, and Rotaractors refreshed and had their lunch. The first activity of the day started with icebreaking, which formed into four teams as A, B, C and D. Followed by he conducted team building activity where the teams were given Spaghetti sticks, cello tapes and marshmallows to build the tallest freestyle town within 40 min. Team D is won the activity, with their effective planning and team work. After the Hi-tea break, the Third Activity on outbound were conducted for two teams. The game named ‘cross the acid river’ was performed by team D, with the given properties. The team has to cross the river with given sack, ensuring they don’t step into the river. Followed by Team B performed the activity named ‘pick the leaf from the acid river’. One team member should pick the leaf which is in the middle of river with the help of other members. It was fun filled activities which explained the effectiveness of Team bonding and effective planning. Then the District Officials were moved to Indoor Hall for activity on Skill Test. Manoj Sir read out 16 Statement and
asked Rotaractors to give marks for their answers (Min mark 1 Maximum mark 5). After finishing the statement, with the formula for getting each person answer came to know their strengths and weakness of their skills. The sessions broke for dinner and followed by Rotaractors were screened with movie ‘GOAL’ movie, which explained the importance of Goal setting as a District Officials and also as an individual. Manoj Koundanya interacted with the rotaractors and helped them to set goals on planned projects. Day 1 session ended with DJ Night, with colorful light setting by Rtr. Tarun. The drizzling night with cold weather made the DJ night even more enjoyable. Day 2 started with outbound activities for rest of the two teams. Team A, the activity was to carry the ball in the water with the help of rope, the team 8 members have to focus to get the ball out of water and have to bring it out the boundary set. Team C, activity was to travel through the spider web, without touching the edges of the web. The last outbound activity was performed by 4 members from each team to form a human circle, Manoj knotted ring in one member hand, and the ring has to be passed to the next member without folding the elbow. After the outbound activities, Rotaractors had their breakfast and refreshed to assemble in Hall. District Officials elects were explained their Roles and Responsibilities, also the avenue service Directors proposed the planned projects. Rtr. PP Yasodhai, Additional Chairperson – Rtr. Vijay and Secretary were Rtr. Sheik Abdulla. On 14th June, 2014 session was conducted for the Club Service team, Community Service team, International Service Team and Sergeant at Arms team. Club service avenue and SAA team session was handled by DRR Rtr. PP PHF Ramkumar Raju at 30 min venue. He highlighted the importance of team bonding through the club service activities. He also shared his experience as Club service director, along with ideas for projects. The international service avenue was handled by PDRR Afser Ali. He explained about the international Rotaract clubs, along with the importance of branding the district and building friendship with international Rotaract Clubs. He also highlighted about the sister club agreements, IDYE programs, bulletin exchange & many other projects. The Community Service avenue was handled by PDRR Suresh Manoharan. The avenue director shared the project plans for the year and Suresh guided them to prepare budgets for projects and how to conduct projects joining hands with other patrons of service and NGOs. The team had an interactive session on community service projects.

Rotaractors were given Dhandiya Sticks, while vacating the venue, where they composed rhythms to play in the bus during the travel. Rotaractors also enjoyed the travel with antakshari games.
SYNAPSE - DOTS Phase 3 DOTS – Phase 3 was carried on different days as breakout sessions for Avenue Directors, Editorial Board, Group Rotaract Representatives, Treasury, Administration and Events. The Chairperson for the event was Rtr. 6 | District Secretarial Team 2014-2015
On 29th June, 2014 PDRR Solomon Victor conducted session for the Administration. The photography team and the PRO team were explained their roles and responsibilities in detail, also he highlighted about the budget, communication and proper planning. The team had an interactive session with him, also shared their plans and ideas. Rtr. Kader took a session for Professional Service avenue. He explained the importance of Professional Service avenue, and how to conduct projects on professional service through sessions and workshops. He also shared the project ideas with the Team, which helped them to brainstorm on the plans. On 13th July 2014, PDRR Manikandan took session for GRRs. He interacted with GRRs and asked them to propose their year plans. After the presentation, Manikandan guided the GRRs and highlighted to know the strength and weakness of the Clubs. Also, he explained the roles and responsibilities of GRRs which stressed the importance of communicating to the clubs, helping the clubs by giving proper guidance, increase the membership and setting the goals.
GRASP - PETS & SETS GRASP – President Elects Training Seminar and Secretary Elects Training Seminar was conducted on 21st and 22nd June, 2014 at DG Vaishnav College hosted by the Rotaract Club of DG Vaishnav College. The Chairperson for the event was Rtr. PP Subbulakshmi, Additional Chairperson – Rtr. IPP Ashish Goel and Secretary was Rtr. Ramya. Day 1 started with amazing welcome video presentation by the rotaractors of DG Vaishnav College, followed by the Inauguration ceremony, where DRR Rtr. PP PHF Ramkumar Raju was collared by Chief Sergeant At Arms Rtr. Suhail. Welcome Address was given by Rtr PP Subbulakshmi who delightfully welcomed our DG Rtn ISAK Nazar and first lady Ann Afzalunnisa. Followed by opening remarks were given by DRR Ramkuar Raju who highlighted on the role of a President & Secretaries who carries the club. DRRE Rtr. PP PHF Arjun Raja set the context by briefing about the sessions also District Handbook was launched by DG Rtn. ISAK Nazar and first lady. Rtn. IASK Nazar addressed the gathering stressing on the importance of Rotaract and requested the help of Rotaractors to be instrumental in setting another massive Guinness World Record, which was planned during the Presidential Conference 14-15. Vote Of Thanks by DRS Elect Rtr. PP Swathi Sujir concluded the Inauguration by thanking the host and the dignitaries. Rtn. Vaidyanathan took a session on Why Rotaract and Leadership with an icebreaking activity. The activity was based on interaction with fellow Rotaractors. Rotaractors expressed their common things, through the activity. Followed by Rtn. Babu Seshadri, enlightened his knowledge and experience in the Rotaract, which motivated the Presidents and Secretaries. After the session, Rotaractors were broke for lunch.
Post lunch, the sessions were based on Avenue of Services. Rtr Rachel J Seelan, from Bangalore took a session on Community Service, which focused on the basics and purpose of doing the project. PDRR Prasanna Rajagopalan conducted an amazing activity for both President & Secretary Elects on team building and bonding, which illustrated to strengthen the bonding among the club members. DRR Rtr. PP PHF Ramkumar Raju A addressed on World Rotaract and what are different ways to get connected and to do joint projects. PDRR Suresh Manoharan took a session on Finance, and explained the Rotaractors how to tackle the fund issues, which is very much critical for a club to maintain the funds in a proper way. Rtr Kader Meeran Sahib took a session on professional service, which gave lots of inputs how to do self development and professional development. Day 2 started with a surprise yet another recap video of the Day 1 activities. A great Inspiration to Rotaract, PDRR Sujith Kumar took an amazing session on communication, sustainability and leadership. We had a breakout session for Presidents handled by PDRR Mani Kandan,focussing on the Roles and Responsibilities of Presidents, which was really wonderful. Secretary session was handled by PDRR Solomon Victor, who has very much informed on the details point of secretarial post, roles and responsibilities. The Presidents and Secretaries had a group photo session followed by lunch. Rtr. Britto and Rtr. Binu conducted management games for the Rotaractors, which made them to enjoy along with stressing up on team play and bonding between rotaractors. Rtr. David Raynell took session on crisis handling who gave real life examples on how to handle situations, with 3 important points namely planning, team work and not being calm under stressful situations. District Announcements were made on the Assembly by District Secretarial Team 2014-2015 | 7
Rtr. PP Girish with a teaser, he also explained about the Assembly. Conference presentation was done by Rtr. Lakshmi Teja, followed by Avenue directors presented their year plan. DRRE Rtr. PP PHF Arjun Raja also shared the year plan, also expressed the expectations from the District Rotaract Council 14-15. The valedictory ceremony started with the video presentation of Day 1 and Day 2 activities. DRR Ramkumar Raju addressed the gathering about the importance of grasping opportunities and making use of it to one’s advantage. DRR Elect Arjun Raja stressed upon the importance of each club being active and work together with the district. Dignitaries on the dais then launched the GRASP kit which was provided to every president and secretary. The folder kit, contained certificate and group photos of the Presidents and Secretaries. Rtr. Ashish Goel profoundly thanked the District Rotaract Council 14 – 15 for the opportunity, his team for the active support and then introduced his parent club President Rtn Lodd Ramgopal. Rtn. Lodd Ramgopal, President of Rotary Club of Southwest addressed the gathering, followed by Rtn Hemachandran, Additional Youth Service Director, spoke about developing one’s own self image and its importance. Rtn Tamilselvan, Chairman – Rotaract 1415, appreciated the good work done by rotaractors and assured his support for the next rotary year. The ceremony was concluded with Vote of thanks by Rtr Ramya Ramachandran, followed by National anthem and adjournment of the event.

Installation Ceremony
The Installation ceremony of the District Rotaract Council 14-15 was July, 2014 at DG Vaishnav College Auditorium. The event started with condolences to Rtn. Shankar Subramaniam, followed by a warm welcome dance by Rtr. Vinithra. Rtr. PP PHF Ramkumar Raju A. gave his welcome address and also presented the annual report for the year 13-14. After the successful completion of the year, he gave his farewell address and introduced the District Rotaract Representative Rtr. PP PHF Arjun Raja for the District Rotaract Council 14-15. A video presentation was also made on the profile and achievements of him, followed by the acceptance speech and introduction of the District Rotaract Secretary and the team of Office bearers for the year 14-15. The gathering was felicitated by the PDRRS Sujith Kumar, Jaby John and Suresh Manoharan. DRR Rtr. PP PHF Arjun Raja V. S. made the presentation on the projects for the year 14-15, which included the launches on year theme logo, Year Banner, Pin, T-shirt,
website and application. Presentation on Assembly, Conference, No spitting and Road Safety - Community Service project and Shiksha - Professional Service project was also made. The installation ceremony was also witnessed by the Rtn. Indira Subramaniam, President Elect – Rtn. Venkatramani, Rtn.Rajasekhar, Rtn. Alluwalia and Rtn. George B. Cherian of Rotary Club of Madras, District Officials and Rotarians from other clubs. Rtn. Sangaran, Rotaract Chairman 13-14, Rtn. A. P. Kanna District Governor 13-14 and Rtn. George B. Cherian, also felicitated the gathering. The Chief Guest of the evening, Rtn. ISAK Nazar, District Governor 14-15 addressed the gathering, followed by the address by Rtn. Tamilselvan, Rotaract Chairman – 14-15, Rtn. Srikanth, President – Rotary Club of Madras and Rtn. Gnanavelan, Youth Service Director 14-15. The event adjourned after the vote of thanks by the District Rotaract Secretary followed by the fellowship.

Secretary Workshop
The Secretary workshop was conducted on 28th July, 2014 at Nahar Hall, which was hosted by the Rotaract Club of Madras Mount. The workshop was held to understand the Roles and Responsibilities of the Secretaries and Joint Secretaries, and how they can work together in the club. The event was started with the introduction by Rtr. Vaishnavi, Associate SAA followed by District Rotaract Secretary Rtr. PP Swathi Sujir gave the welcome address along with setting the context about the event. The workshop was handled by PDRR Solomon Victor. Solomon Victor addressed the gathering and started the workshop with an icebreaking session to create groups with 5 different animal names. Rotaractors found their group mates by imitating like animals to the group they belong. Followed by, the groups were enlightened the importance of strong and effective communication and an activity was performed on how to introduce Guest speaker or Chief Guests. Rotaractors took active participation and 10 | District Secretarial Team 2014-2015
introduced the fellow Rotaractors with the given time. This helped the Rotaractors to improve their public speaking without fear. He then defined the Roles and Responsibilities of Secretaries and Joint Secretaries, also shared the facts and the basics of Rotaract. The Roles and Responsibilities included how to take the meeting minutes and to circulate it, strong and effective communication with the Club members, Record keeping of the club, Gathering the information from the District and any other informations and communicating it to the clubs, branding the club through newsletter, and importance of reporting. It was an effective event for the Secretaries and Joint Secretaries, where the Rotaractors came forward with the positive feedbacks. PDRR Solomon Victor was felicitated by Rtr. PP Banu, ADRS and Rtr. IPP Dhanakodi, Group Co ordinator. Group photos were taken, followed by the closing remarks and fellowship.

IDYE Visit On July 10th 2014, we sent 6 Rotaractors from 3 different Rotaract clubs from Rotary International District 3230 to Rotary international District 3201 for Inter District Youth Exchange Program. Rotaractors from Rotaract club of Chennai, Rotaract club of Madras Central, Rotaract club of M. N. M. Jain Engineering College took part in the IDYE Visit to RID 3201.
On 28th June 2014, the International Service team hosted Rtr. Vijayraman IDYE chairman and International service director for 2014-2015 of Rotary International District 3140, Mumbai for two days. The Rotaractor was hosted by Rotaract clubs of M. N. M. Jain Engineering College, Madras central, R. K. M. Vivekananda College and S. R. M. Eashwari Engineering College.
Friendship Box On 2nd July 2014, we sent our District theme ‘Inspire Others’ Pins and greetings in letter lead by our DRR Rtr. PP PHF Arjun Raja to Rotary international District 4190 through DHL in Friendship box. The project was supported by Rotaract Club of M. N. M Jain Engineering College.

Friendship Day Celebration
The District Club Service team in association with the ‘INSPIRE’ – District Assembly team and celebrated the Friendship day celebration at Gandhi Nagar club on August 3rd, 2014. Before the celebration,online contests were conducted on Emotions of Friendship – describing about the friendship, Click of Friendship – Editing movie posters with group friends photos, Joy of Frienship – short film on friendship. On the friendship day celebration Friendship related songs played all around and the place where made to a different level, to set the mood of fun and fellowship. Rtr. Tarun from Loyola Community organized the fellowship with lights and music. Rtr. Binu conducted loads of Fun activities and Games. Rotaractors who actively took part in the online contests & games, were given Sathyam Cinemas Gift Vouchers. The Friendship day celebration was ended with a Cake Cutting and People waving hands for Mustafa Mustafa song. It was definitely a day to Cherish. 12 | District Secretarial Team 2014-2015
INSPIRE - Assembly
‘Inspire’ – District Rotaract Assembly presented by MISB Bocconi (Our Title sponsor) was held on August 17th, 2014 (Sunday) at Kumara Rajah Muthiah Hall, Chettinad Vidyashram School, Raja Annamalaipuram, Chennai, The event began with a traditional welcome dance by Rtr. Subhangi from Rotaract Club of Ethiraj College. The inauguration was presided over by Rtn. Natarajan Nagoji, District Governor 16-17, the Chief Guest, ‘Neeya Naana’ Antony Thirunelveli - the Guest of Honor and the Keynote Speaker for the event, Rtn. TamilSelvan Chairman – Rotaract & Rtn. Gnanavelan – Youth Service Director. Amongst us we also witnessed the presence of Mr. Alessandro, Managing Director - MISB. After the inauguration the crowd witnessed a thought provoking key note speech from the Director of Neeya Naana, Mr. Antony Thirunelveli who was the Keynote Speaker himself. After the inauguration breakout sessions were conducted for Club Board Officials. The Presidents, Vice President’s & Sergeant -at-arms session was handled by Rtn. PDG Subbu, Secretary/ Joint Secretary by PDRR Jaby John, Treasurer/ Joint Treasurer by Rtn. DGN Natarajan Nagoji, Club Service by PDRR. Prasanna Rajagopalan, Community Service/ Pulse Polio/ Blood Donors by PDRR Manikandan, Professional Service/ Shiksha by Rtn. Gnanavelan, International Service by Rtn. Christopher Devepragasam, Editorial Board by past Rtr. Krishna Prasad, PRO, Membership & Database by Rtr. David Raynell & Green Rotaractors session by Rtr. PDRR. Solomon Victor. After the breakout session the members split for lunch followed by which we had IDYE member from Coimbatore District Secretarial Team 2014-2015 | 13
& South Sudan. District RYLA named ‘WAVES’ and ‘ENGAGE’, Annual District Rotaract Conference named ‘SPARK’ were launched respectively and the conference team created awareness on ROAD Safety on the same day. were launched at the assembly. The Committee heads and members who worked for the respective committees were honoured and also Rotaract Clubs who delivered extreme support towards the Assembly were honoured with a memento. The Valedictory was presided over by Rtn. C. R. Raju, District Governor, 15-16. After the Valedictory we had some exhilarating dance performances from Rotaract Club of Anna Adarsh and other professional dance crews. The event ended with a short and sweet DJ evening by Rtr. Ashwin, the Entertainment Chairman for Assembly.

Terry Fox Run
District Rotaract Council 14-15 supported Terry Fox Run marathon which is conducted by Rotary club of Madras East. The District Community Service team, along with Rotaractors from different clubs took part in various committee which is held on 24 aug 2014 at IIT college campus. More than 3000 Rotaractors took part in the Terry Fox Run marathon.
Talk Show The talk is aimed to bring people to outlay their views on various areas of interest. In that way the District Professional service hosted a talk show on 31/8/2014 at M. G. R. Janakai college in Adyar. It was started around 2.45 pm before the DRC. First the gathering was addressed and a small introduction was given by Rtr. Sivapriya on Talk show. Then the first speaker of the talk show Rtr. Saseen Ilanchezian (RC of Rajalakshmi Engineering College) was given an introduction and later given the dais. He spoke on tamil literature that set an example for the rotaract theme “INSPIRE OTHERS� for the rotary year 14-15. His speech
was very inspiring as the way he carried himself and his profound knowledge was catching. After his awesome speech Rtr. Sivapriya delivered the vote of thanks with an appreciation of Rtr. Saseen Ilanchezian. The show ended over by 3.05pm. District Secretarial Team 2014-2015 | 15
DRONA - Faculty meet
‘DHRONA’- the Faculty coordinators’ meet was held on 6th September, 2014 at Hotel Hablis, Guindy with 33 faculties representing from 27 Colleges, hosted by Rotary International District 3230. The commenced with ‘THAMIZH THAI VAZHTHU’. Associate Youth service Director Rtn. Roopa Sunil, Chairperson - DHRONA gave the welcome address. The inaugural address was given by District Governor Rtn. I. S. A. K Nazar spreading insights on facts about Rotary, RI District 3230 and its youth wing Rotaract and Interact. The context setting was done by Rotaract Chair Rtn. Tamilselvan. District Youth Service Director Rtn. Gnanavelan then presented the history of Rotary followed, by which DRR Rtr. PP PHF Arjun Raja briefed the projects of District Rotaract Council. An interactive session on bridging the real gap was handled by Rtr. PDRR Solomon Victor. The session started with a fantastic icebreaker thereby focusing on the pros, cons and improvement in the movement itself. Each faculty was given a paper and was asked to write their views. The sheets were collected, tabulated on a chart and put in an interactive discussion. The session concluded with a group photo with the faculties. Finally, the faculties were felicitated with the DHRONA kit. The event ended with vote of thanks by Rtr. ROTARY INSTALLATION
On the 27th day of June 2014 where District Governor Elect Rtn. I. S. A. K. Nazar became the District Governor of Rotary International District 3230 at a ceremony that was not so easy to forget, considering the grandeur and the style. In a touching tribute to the legend of Rotary, Dr. C. S. Ramachandran, which brought us the story and Rotarians shared their love for him. This was followed by the Rotary Theme song, and everyone present became a torch bearer literally, waving the battery operated torch, truly ‘Lighting up Rotary’ in word, action and spirit! The event was witnessed by more than 1500 Rotarians. R I President Elect Rtn. K. R. Ravindran presided over the function who, in his speech congratulated RI District 3230. More than 50 Rotaractors from have took part in the Installation Ceremony of Rtn. I.S.A.K. Nazar, also expressed their love by congratulating him with flower bouquets. Rotaractors took photos with Rtn. I.S.A.K. also with other Rotarians.
All faith Service meet To pay homage to martyrs of all categories of personnel in uniform, including the Armed Forces, Para-military Forces, Police, etc., District Governor Rtn. I. S. A. K. Nazar conducted All faith service meet on 1st July, 2014 at IIT Madras. The event was conducted by the National Maritime Foundation, Chennai Chapter, Rotary International District 3230 and coordinated by the Rotary Club of Madras Central Aadithya supported by IIT, Madras. Verses from the Holy Books, The Bhagvad Gita, The Koran, The Jain Agama, The Guru Granth Sahib and the Bible were read by religious scholars and heads. Wreaths were then laid by Serving Officers in Uniform, Police Officers, Retired Officers from the Armed Forces, Rotarians, Consular Corps from USA, UK, Russia, Malaysia, Academicians from various Universities and other dignitaries. After the laying of wreaths, two minutes of silence were observed to pay homage. More than 60 Rotaractors took part in the All faith meet to pay homage to the uniformed officers, which included the District Officials of District Rotaract Council 14-15 also Rotaractors from Various clubs. 18 | District Secretarial Team 2014-2015
Blood Donation camp A mammoth effort by the 88 clubs of Rotary International District 3230, along with District 2980 and District 3000, led by the District Community Service Health Team, joined hands for a cause in “Be Positive” a mega state wide blood donation drive, on the 6th August 2014. District 3230 District Rotaract Council supported mega blood and Rotaractors volunteered in the blood donation camp.

Your action inspired - card
Andriod mobile application, first of its kind was launched in the District Rotaract Council Installation ceremony which held on 5th July, 2015. The new initative was welcomed and appreciated by many Rotarians and Rotaractors. The app is available for android mobiles and can be downloaded from Google play store.
District Secretarial Team 14-15 recognized Club Secretaries, for the best monthly report , based on the clarity of report, timely submission, professionalism and who followed the checklist completely. As a token of appreciation, we gave them a handmade card which carries the message ‘Your action Inspired’. For the month of July we appreciated Rotaract Club of RKM Vivekananda College and Rotaract Club of Coastal Legacy for their report. For the month of August we appreciated 2 College based and 2 Community based clubs - Rotaract Clubs of RKM Vivekananda College, MNM Jain Engg. College, Dexterous and Marine Port City.

Gowtham took part in the Inter District Youth Exchange in which 6 rotaractors from our district were hosted by RI District 3201. 12th July, 14 – B’DAY CELEBRATION We celebrated our club’s active rotaractors Rtr. Jayadevan’s and Rtr. Janu’s birthday by cutting cake at Marina beach. 12th July, 14 – AANANDHAM To begin the year with the Almighty’s blessings, our rotaractors went to Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Mylapore. After completing the Darshan, we provided food to the needy people outside the temple. We had our GRR, Rtr. Sheikh Mohammed among us on the day. 15th July, 14 – KAVIYAM To honour the birthday of karmaveerar kamarajar, we conducted a poetry competition on the theme “patriotism” for our club members. There were totally 25 entries - 6 in English, 18 in Tamil, 1 in Hindi. 4 winners were selected in English and Tamil categories by the judges. 21st July, 14 – SPECIAL MEETING We hosted Rtr. Roshan from Rotaract Club of Bangalore South, R.I.Dist 3190 who is on a cycle rally from Kaniyakumari to Kashmir spreading awareness about Illiteracy for the Teach India Mission. He learnt to make paper bags from our Rtrs and said he would teach this art to school children he will be meeting thro’ this mission. 22nd July, 14 – BITSTRIPS Two rotaractors from our club participated in the bit strip making competition on account of digital week. This was conducted by Rotaract Club of Church gate, Mumbai, RI District 3140 in which 2 members participated.

Rotaract Club of MNM Jain College – Shift 1 1st Aug, 14 – FRIENDSHIP CELEBRATION As August month is known as the friendship month in the rotary calendar, members established friendship with our past rotaractors. Marking that, our IPP Rtr. Kaushik met our Past President Rtr.Partheban in Coimbatore on 1st August 2014. Also our Charter President Rtr.Ganesh was added to our club’s Facebook Page. 1st Aug, 14 – B’Day Celebration We celebrated Rtr. Akshaya Giridhar’s Birthday on August 1st and Rtr.Hari Sudhan’s Birthday on August 7th by cutting cakes. 4th Aug, 14 – CLUB MEET The Club meeting has happened in College premises which has been attended by 73 Rotaractors. 5th Aug, 14 – SPI AND SPAN A team of 25 rotaractors assembled at the Rotaract room after college hours and cleaned the Rotaract room. We also arranged stationary items for the functioning of the office this year. 8th Aug, 14 – ORIENTATION An orientation program for the green rotaractors was conducted at college auditorium. The session was handled by PDRR Rtr. Prasanna and PP Rtr. Girish. This was a very enthusiastic and informative session and the rotaractors had so much to take from it. 10th Aug, 14 – RAKSHA BANDHAN RAKSHA BANDHAN was celebrated by our rotaractors where we met our seniors at Besant Nagar Beach. 13th Aug, 14 – CLUB MEET The Club meeting has happened in College premises which has been attended by 53 Rotaractors. 15th Aug, 14 – GREEN INDEPENDENCE We celebrated 68th Independence Day by hoisting in college premises and by planting a sapling as a initiative towards a greener and prosperous India. We were a part of “Green-Dependence”, an initiative of RC of PONDA, along with RC of MUMBAI PARLESHWAR, RC of CIT, RC of CHENNAI, RC of NM COLLEGE, RC of PES UNIVERSITY, RC of YOUTH UNITED and RC of SAIBABA COLONY. 15th Aug, 14 – INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION A few rotaractors celebrated our Independence Day at Netaji Mercy home, velachery. There were around 30 kids in the age group of 6 to 15 years. Our Rtrs interacted with them and spoke to them on the history of our independence. They were pinned with our National flag and were given toffees. Then the kids were asked to draw something which signifies our country. We sponsored their meal for the day and also contributed raw rice and clothes. 15th Aug, 14 - UNSUNG HEROES OF INDIAN INDEPENDENCE We did an online campaign about the “UNSUNG HEROES OF INDIAN INDEPENDENCE” signifying the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. Brief life history of various Patriots like Ram Prasad Bismil, Puli Thevar, Bhikaji Cama, and Sarojini Naidu whose sacrifices are really inspiring were sent as messages through Whatsapp and also posted in Facebook. 17th Aug, 14 – IDYE HOST We hosted the rotaractors from Coimbatore RI District 3201 on the day of our District Assembly – Inspire. The rotaractors had their breakfast at our club’s President Rtr. Rotaract Club of MNM Jain College – Shift 2 4th Aug, 14 – BLOOD DONATION On various dates and cases of emergencies, 9 rotaractors from our club have donated blood and saved lives this month.
18th Aug, 14 – HOST We had a special meeting with Rtr. Kenyi Yasin Abdullah, Rtr. Martin Logar, Rtr. Awar Athuai and Rtr. Paula Nancy from South Sudan, in our college. We felicitated them with dhotis for representing our culture and presented the club caps and pins to them. 23rd Aug, 14 – TREE PLANTATION DRIVE We along with an NGO called “Chennai Trekking Club” cleaned the ground of a Govt school in Kovur and planted 40 saplings there. We also educated the children on the purpose of this project and taught them to maintain these saplings. 23rd Aug, 14 – SKYPE CALL We had a fantastic fun-filled Skype call with Rtr. Nayela Naviz, the DRR NOMINEE of Rotary International District 3272 Pakistan in which the Rotaraction in our districts were discussed. 25th Aug, 14 – FRIENDSHIP BOX We successfully airmailed a friendship box to a Rotaract club in Pakistan; Rotaract Club of Abbottabad, R.I.Dist 3272.The box had our club’s pin, caps, letterhead and District’s pin and Rotaract pins. We also had some indigenous Indian food items which meant food exchange between the countries and a few more gifts which represent our culture. 26th & 27th Aug, 14 – VAZHIKATI 2.0 Vazhikati is a signature project through which we give career counselling to students of 10th and 12th studying in govt schools. This year we did this project for 3 days and visited one school a day viz. Govt Higher secondary schools in Medavakkam, Kovilambakkam, Moovarasampet. We informed the students about scope and opportunities in the fields of medicine, engineering, commerce, armed forces, and hotel management. 30th Aug, 14 – DANCE OF DISTRICT Our club rotaractors participated in the Dance of District event organised by Rotary. 31st Aug, 14 – TREE PLANTING Partnering with an NGO called Nizhal our club’s Rotaractors planted saplings at the Kotturpuram Tree Park. The purpose of this project is to have all indigenous plants of Tamil Nadu at this place.

28th Aug, 14 – HOSTED SOUTH SUDAN RCSMC is very happy to have hosted the four guests from South Sudan on the 28th in our college. IPP Prakash Rotaract Club of Chennai Towers 3rd Aug, 14 – NATURE FRIENDLY The day started by an expert lecture from Shoba Menon where the importance of different trees has been addressed. Then went on to have a tie-up project with NIZHAL where we helped clearing little debris from the land. It then ended up in a fellowship event as it was friendships day. 3rd Aug, 14 – CLUB MEET Club meeting has happened in Kotturpuram Tree Park which has been attended by 11 Rotaractors. 15th Aug, 14 - EVENT WITH COIMBATORE Club hosted the IDYE team from R.I.Dist 3201 for 3 days (15th, 16th and 17th). On the last day club organised a memorable dinner with fellowship. We also sent our wishes on our letterhead. 29th Aug, 14 – SUDA SUDA Club has joined hands with Rotaract club of SRM Vadapalani and had a fellowship at Silver Sands Beach Resort. We got to know each other over the fantastic unlimited breakfast spread which then continued into fun time, we played games and some adventure events. 29th Aug, 14 – SUDANA SUDAN Club hosted lunch for the team from South Sudan (Rotaract club of Juba) as well as members from Rotaract club of SRM Vadaplani. We provided them with finger licking’ north Indian food, after which we dropped them off at the airport bidding them goodbye.
9th Aug, 14 – SENIOR CITIZEN DAY Most of us don’t have time to talk with our grandma and grandpa so members have decided to spend a day with many grandmas & grandpas in an old age home. They have bought biscuits to all 60 inmates in that home and have returned home with a smile in their faces. 9th Aug, 14 – BEACH VISIT A simple project by enjoying a day in beach with green rotaractors. This project made a good interests and opinion about Rotaract in the minds of green rotaractors and gave many good profile pictures for many of us. 14th Aug, 14 – CLUB MEET Club meeting has happened in College premise which has been attended by 48 Rotaractors. 15th Aug, 14 – SUGANDHIRA PARAVAI On Independence Day we joined with the school students and hoisted the flag after which we conducted various competitions like drawing, essay writing, speech, lemon and spoon, running race and awarded the winners with useful prizes and spent the rest of the day dancing and enjoying with the students. 19th Aug, 14 - MOBILE PHOTO COMPETITION Daily we are seeing many photographers who show their talents with their mobile camera. So we have decided to give a chance to them to participate in a competition “Mobile Photo Competition”. 3rd Aug, 14 – FRIENDSHIP WEEK CELEBRATION Friendship doesn’t have any END. It’s difficult to celebrate friendship in one day so we decided to celebrate it as friendship week. We have tired 300+ friendship bands to municipality workers, drivers, police, shop owner, Auto drivers, military officers, social workers and even to transgender. 42 Rtrs participated in it.
23rd Aug, 14 – VELAI VAIPU We joined hands with our placement cell of our college and conducted a mega job fair in our college premises in which more than 600+ students of our College and 900+ students of other colleges attended interviews of 30 companies out of which 450+ students were selected and placed.

28th Aug, 14 – ANNAM AAYIRAM – BETA VERSION Annam Aayiram is a successful ongoing project of Hindu College. This is a project of collecting 1KG of rice from each person and this year we have approaching our nearby houses to give rice to make it bigger level. We have collected 51KG of rice in just 95mins with 7 rotaractors. 30th Aug, 14 – VINAYAGAR CHATHURTHI We celebrated Vinayagar Chathurthi festival with inmates of “Sevalaya” an old-age and orphanage home in Thiruninravur. We installed a Ganapathy idol and performed pooja. We prepared Sweet pongal, Sundal and few more items after offering to God Vinayaga and we distributed to the inmates and the devotees which was attended by 110 members.

6th Aug, 14 – BE POSITIVE A Blood camp named ‘Be Positive’ organised by the Rotary club of Chennai Galaxy and other Rotary clubs which was held in our college and was supported by our Rotaract club. Many students actively participated in the blood camp.

6th & 7th Aug, 14 – HEROES PHASE 1 The board members of our Rotaract club went to Vidya Sagar and helped the students in designing the stickers. The board members had an interactive session with the students and a few more stickers were designed by the students in which 12 members participated.

The students were trained in Competitions were conducted for the students in which they were trained and prizes were distributed. We also had a fun and interactive session with the students.

15th Aug, 14 – NAM BHARATHAM We Addressed 300 Students in T. Nagar Govt School and Spoke about the Independence Movement in Tamil Nadu. We also gave 500 Indian Flags to Public in Natesan Park (T. Nagar). They have visited Phoenix Mall, Besant Nagar Beach and the day was ended with dinner in Sachin ka Dhabba. Siddarth was celeberated by cutting the cake along with 38 Rtrs. 19th Aug, 14 – THINK APT-AN MOCK RECRUIT PROCESS A Mega Event Where about 2750 College students participated for the aptitude test. 20 members were shortlisted for next round from each year. This project was to promote the once famous mittais like - Thaen Mittai, Javvu Mittai, Kamarkattu, Ellu Vurunda, Enipu molaga, Verkadala vurunda, Perchapalam kotta, etc. It was provided to nearly 70 rotaractors who attended the installation ceremony. 15th Aug, 14 – CLUB INSTALLATION The Installation ceremony of Pegasus took place at Hotel Parambriym, Anna Nagar. Biscuits were distributed to people from different walk of life like - the traffic police, poor people, vendors etc & also simultaneously distributed on campus house keepings also. 30th Aug 14 – WCC RALLY Rotaractors took part in the Rally against acid attacks on women hosted by the Rotaract Club of WCC which has been attended by 20 Rtrs.

Rotaract Club of WCC 2nd Aug 14 – HELPING HAND Every week rotaractors from club take part in helping students who are visually impaired at FATHIMA SCHOOL, KODAMBAKAM. A group of students were taught various subjects in Tamil for better understanding. 13th Aug 14 – CLUB MEET Club meeting has happened in College premises which have been attended by 24 Rotaractors. 14th Aug - POTLUCK A group of 35 rotaractors together brought in their own tiffin box and shared the home-made food with others. The day was fun filled sharing jokes, dance and singing.

The theme was ACID ATTACK & MOLESTATION the event took place at MARINA BEACH. A rally from Gandhi statue to kanagi statue. The event was highlighted by 3 acid attacked victims; deputy commissioner lakshmi mam supported the noble cause.
