BULLETIN EDITOR

Another update! Personally, I’d like to apologize for the lateness and just everything bulletin-related on my part. It’s been a tough few weeks, but I’m ready to see you all at Fall Rally this weekend and be rejuvinated! Stay sizzlin,

Banna Tesfay

a word from your

GOVERNOR Hey there Southwest!

Can you believe it? Fall Rally is just around the corner! We are going to have an amazing event at Kamp Kiwanis and our International Vice President, Jessica Davis, and our Subregion B Trustee, Jenny Park will get to enjoy it with us. I would also like to say that I am soo impressed with all of the service your clubs did in September. We had over 1000 hours of service in one month! GREAT job! I would also like you all to keep in mind that November is K-family month which means I would love to see you all getting out there with your K-Family and doing service with them. I also want to give a special shout-out to the district team. This month was particularly challenging for me and my family, but our district team was behind me the whole way and made sure everything was getting done as it should be. If you get a chance, please thank the members of the district team in your home clubs for me. They are pretty amazing. Yours in Service, Ava Red

JOINT-DIVISIONAL CLE LtGs Aubrey Renaker and Lamonte McDuffie hosted an amaazing joint divisional training in Phoenix, AZ early October. With an amazing turnout from the Baja and Kachina Divisions, these two had a successful workshop about leadership, CKI, and everything you need to run a successful club. To top it all off, they even planned a service project, because what’s CKI without service? Members had a great time learning about CKI and being trained on the best way to do their jobs by District Board members.

Scare up some funds and fun this Halloween by participating in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF! Did you know? A proud participant in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF since 1994, Key Club has raised more than US$7 million for child survival and development programs around the world—from efforts to eliminate iodine deficiency disorder to HIV/AIDS initiatives in Kenya and Swaziland. Starting in 2012 Key Club joined other Kiwanis Service Leadership Programs to Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF to raise money for The Eliminate Project. It’s a great opportunity to collect donations instead of candy or to bring club members together for a fabulous event or party. All money collected by Kiwanis-family members through Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF will once again support The Eliminate Project and help save moms and babies from maternal and neonatal tetanus. ELIMINATE CHALLENGE

GOVERNOR AVA HAS A CHALLENGE! Do you see these beautiful locks of hair right here? Here’s hoping they’ll be a cute bob by DCON, because Ava has a mission for this district! If we can raise $500 or more collectivley for the Eliminate Project come District Convention, Governor Ava will cut off and donate her hair! That’s right, CUT IT ALL OFF. So get to thinking up great fundraising ideas, because you don’t want to miss this! 5
