Earlier this summer six Southwest District CKI members had the pleasure of attending CKIx 2016 in Toronto, Canada! CKIx is an annual International event where CKIers from all over the world come together to elect new representatives to serve on the International Board, attend workshops, hear from amazing guest speakers, participate in a Large Scale Service Event and meet new friends! Here what they had to say about the event below! "CKIx was honestly one of the best experiences I have ever had. It was so inspiring because it showcased how even though we all have our own clubs around the world, we share the same values and passions, and come together as one family. It also made me realize just how far-reaching our impact is. The people were so warm, and it was such a welcoming and natural environment. My favorite parts of convention were getting to meet everyone and, of course, serving with everyone in the Large Scale Service Project. I highly recommend CKIx to everyone!" - Laura Belmont

"Toronto was technically my second CKIx I've attended, but nonetheless, the best. There's no better feeling than having all your favorite people in one place to do what you love the most. Not only did I get to grow myself as a leader, I watched our members gain relationships and skill that they brought back to make them not just better members, but people. And I'm so honored to have taken home a Distinguished District Editor award . I can only hope that next year, Southwest will bring more members, more spirit, and more awards to bring home. -Banna Tesfay

"CKIx was such an incredible week! It was amazing getting to reunite with old friends I've met at other international events and getting to meet lots new friends from other districts! Getting to see the impact that CKI and Kiwanis makes on such exploring and sightseeing in the beautiful city of Toronto in Ontario, Canada! Overall it was a week I'll never forget and I'm so greatful for the experience! I enourage all of you to attend CKIx 2017 in San Antonio next year!" -Aubrey Renaker

TRUSTEE UPDATES INTRODUCING THE 2016-17 SUBREGION B INTERNATIONAL TRUSTEE, JENNIFER QUE:

HELLOOO, MY DEAR SOUTHWEST DISTRICT! If we have not yet had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Jennifer Que, and I hail from the California-Nevada-Hawai`i District as a Circle K International at Orange Coast College alumna and a current Health Science major at Circle K International at California State University, Fullerton. Did you know that, similar to how our district is divided into divisions, CKI is also regionally sectioned? Bring on Subregion B, home to the Sunny CNH District, the mighty Rocky Mountain District (RMD), and of course, the wild Southwest District. For the 2016-2017 term, I am humbled to have the opportunity in following the footsteps of an exceptional group of leaders known as the Subregion B Trustees. Putting it simply, this elected position is dedicated to developing and strengthening the sister districts that reside in a CKI subregion. So what's going to happen this year? My challenge for you is to focus on the I in International, expanding beyond the boundaries of the Southwest District. Make friends outside of Southwest, spread the knowledge that our district has taught us and extend it to International. Be active on the International level in order to make the changes that you want to see in our organization. Collaborate with our sister districts because we have so much to teach and so much to learn to improve our district year after year. Southwest District has provided me with so much love and support the minute I was installed at CKIx, and I'm ecstatic for the chance to give back to your district, to serve you as well as our sister districts, and to see what we can all accomplish together this year for Subregion B. Love, your Subregion B Trustee, Subregion Que, Subregion Bae, Fossil, Grandma, or the other nicknames that our creative Subregion B members have devised for me,
