PART 1.
PRECEDENT STUDIES
MARS Pavilion
Initial Research Tectonic Study of Concrete Shells and Structures Primarily Exterior Based or Used in Pavilion Designs. MARS Pavilion Created by Form Found Design Inspiration for Final Design Design was Re-Constructed Digitally Inspiration for Joinery Design STGILAT Pavilion Initial Inspiration Impractical Construction Method Cost and Time
STGILAT Pavilion
DIGITAL REPLICATION Replication of precedent study MARS Pavilion Rhino Digital Replication with the Use of Grasshopper The deigns was re-created using Grasshopper and extensions including Kangaroo, it also helped us get a sense of the volumes and how the concrete would actually look when being poured which will be used in the next stage of design, on our actually model and final piece.

TESSELLATION
Pattern Designs Exploration of Triangular Shapes The spaces that will be exposed and open in the structured space, Triangular space is the more likely choice for the final. Exploration of Hexagonal Shapes A simpler geometric form with the potential to create a more vivid effect on the final design.

PART 2.
IS Building. The second half of the semester involved modifying the Swinburne IS Building with the tectonic study explored previously in the first half of the semester and in part 1 of the project. The idea was to convert part of the existing building without completely destroying it in the concrete shell that was used in the MARS Pavilion. Concrete Shaping and Tessellation Spacing.
