Glenferrie Precinct

Our project aims to incorporate an organic tree like form into the existing site. Through the use of timber, specifically CLT(Cross Laminated Timber), we are injecting a warmer material palette to soften the masonry heavy surrounds, thus creating a more tactile and sensory experience. This is complimented by the included green spaces and sheltered exterior arcade. With changes to the design and various programs of the site, one of our key goals is to foster a more inclusive relationship with the broader Glenferrie community and Swinburne University. Our architectural elements are designed to invite people in to experience the gallery space that will showcase Swinburne projects, thus building a better understanding between the public and what the university is trying to achieve. Via organic forms and the use of our key design features, interior and exterior space is blended, so as to encourage dynamic foot traffic not only adjacent to our design, but through it, creating a change to the circulation of people through the Glenferrie Station precinct.
