SOUTHWEST INDIANA CHAMBER

ANNUAL REPORT #TOGETHERWETHRIVE

A MESSAGE FROM JIM SANDGREN & CHRISTINE KECK September 30, 2017, marked the close of a very successful 12-month period for the Southwest Indiana Chamber. We worked extremely hard as a collaborative force to continue to shape and mold programs and the direction for a bright future for our region. Here are a few of the milestones, achievements and accolades to remember and continue to build upon: LEGISLATIVE ACHIEVEMENTS

The goal of our Advocacy & Public Policy strategic focus is to “be the voice on local, state and national issues that positively or adversely affect our members and the region.” Our areas of focus are based on feedback from our membership and our 2017 successes were the result of significant strategic advocacy efforts and partnerships. Wins include: HOUSE BILL 1002 – Increasing road-funding revenue; HOUSE BILL 1004 – Pre-K expands to 20 counties; SENATE BILL 128 – Regional infrastructure improvement projects. In addition, 100% of JPAC candidates won election. Bridgelink committee advocacy efforts drove progress with Environmental Impact Study launched in April 2017 for new bridge connecting Indiana and Kentucky along I-69.

JIM SANDGREN

CHAIRMAN, BOARD OF DIRECTORS
