At Sophisticated Woman Magazine, photographing our Enterprising Woman makes for an enjoyable afternoon, but preparing for a bridal photo shoot, teeming with gorgeous floral arrangements, ruffled ball gowns and sparkling diamonds was a completely different experience. So many people and vendors came together to make the day a success. Wedding planner Maria Maginnis of InNola Events and Design worked with us to create a glamorous and sophisticated look. We utilized furniture and accessories from Mandeville Party Company and Royal Event Rental, as well as flowers by Ambiance Flowers to complete the scene. Our “bride” Rachel Keiffer, had her hair styled by Ashton Guillory of Downtown Chic Salon and her makeup applied flawlessly by Melanie Hollander of Makeup by Melanie. Her bridal look was brought to life with gowns and headpieces from Southern Bridal and Olivier Couture in Mandeville and jewelry from DeLucca’s and Grande Opus jewelers. The entire scene was shot on location at the Southern Hotel in downtown Covington by the wonderful Steve Randon. Thank you to everyone who made this “faux wedding” an incredibly beautiful and fun event.

PLANNING THIS ISSUE was a lot like planning a wedding. It took me back to when my husband Jerry proposed to me. Being the romantic that he is, he picked a date that was special to him—the date he joined the Navy 10 years prior. It happened to coincide with the arrival of Haley’s Comet, so after a romantic dinner at one of our favorite restaurants we headed to the lakefront. It really was a surprise when he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him, but I told him he would have to ask my father first. So it was back to my house to call England to wake him up at 4 a.m. Once he gave his blessing I accepted Jerry’s proposal, and the planning began. My first thought was Vegas, but my husband told me his parents would not be happy about that. My second choice was to travel to my childhood home in England, where my family still lived, and get married in Beaminster, in the 600 year old church where I had been christened.
My wedding was a destination wedding for the many guests who traveled from the States, and we did a lot of the planning long distance. I was fortunately able to travel home a month before the wedding to finalize all the plans and take that vital trip to France to pick out the wine for the wedding. Planning this first issue of Sophisticated Wedding Magazine took a team of passionate, talented people. Since the conception, our editor Anna LeDonne has been at the forefront of the planning and has been involved every step of the way. This issue would not be what it is today without her vision and help. I would like to thank the entire team of dedicated professionals that helped bring you our first annual issue of Sophisticated Wedding Magazine. We hope you all enjoy this issue, find inspiration, enjoy your planning, and create wonderful memories of your special day. Enjoy and blessings,
The Berry Barn WRITTEN BY MARIA D’ANTONIO
LIGHTS STRUNG UP
in the arbor twinkle in the twilight sky. A soft melody of outdoor ambience settles in a comfortable background as friends and family turn their heads to see the bride emerge from a charming barn and walk up the aisle. This is a typical weekend for the Berry Barn, a wedding destination for those looking for a more rustic feel for their big day. Elizabeth Liuzza explained that the Berry Barn did not start out as a wedding venue. Although renowned for their strawberries, Liuzza Farms, like all produce farms, is subject to bad weather leading to crop failure. Elizabeth wanted to create an additional source of income for Liuzza Farms in case of a bad crop. She soon started hosting field trips which triggered the building of the barn, completed nearly a year ago. “The barn was built as a covered area for field trips,” she said. However, one day she was approached by a couple wishing to use the space for a wedding. Soon, she transformed the open barn and closed it in, equipping it with climate control, restrooms, a stage for entertainment, and a built-in bar. “By word of mouth, it started growing into a wedding venue,” she described. Business has been booming ever since. This fall, they are completely booked with weddings. “The barn is a one-stop venue,” commented Elizabeth on one of the reasons for the barn’s popularity. Aside from the wedding and reception being in the same space, the Berry Barn comes equipped with tables, chairs and lights while also welcoming the patrons’ choice of caterers. They make it easy for guests to come in early to decorate and customize the venue by booking only one wedding a day, so there’s no rush. This gives guests the time to enjoy some of the 500 acres of property surrounding the Berry Barn. The Berry Barn is nestled in the Liuzza Produce Farm, owned by the Liuzza family. Only 30-40 minutes from Covington, off Interstate 55, it makes a perfect getaway for a country wedding while still accessible for guests. There’s more to the Berry Barn than accessibility and easy accommodations. It is the perfect marriage of rustic and elegance. “The ambience is really already there,” commented

Elizabeth. “It’s designed with an elegant, vintage look in mind.” The string lights above the wooden beams in the high ceiling and custom chandeliers help create an atmosphere that both guests and staff can appreciate for such an important day. “I think my favorite part is watching the couples, especially when they write their own vows,” Elizabeth reflected, “and being part of an atmosphere full of love.” Touches like the miniature mule and buggy that shuttle guests between the barn and parking lot add to the overall experience. The Berry Barn is the perfect venue for couples seeking a unique wedding experience for the most significant day of their lives. “It’s the perfect rustic feel,” Elizabeth said. The Berry Barn is located at 56188 Holden Circle in Amite. For more information, call 985-981-5788 or visit theberrybarn.com. Sophisticated Weddings | 2015/2016 7

Wedding stationery does more than serve as a practical way to notify guests of the time and place of your wedding. If that were the case, you could just call your guests on the phone or send them an email. Rather, an invitation sets the tone of an event. The quality of the paper, the type of printing, the design, the wording, the typography—all of these elements come together to give your guests a first glimpse into your wedding day. 1 Who knew charcoal envelopes and hot pink wax seals were a match made in stationery heaven? Classic calligraphy and typography complement a formal affair. Impression Paperie, 985-893-9589.
2 Rustic charm radiates from this hand-lettered invitation wrapped in brown paper and twine. A hot pink return address envelope ties in the Save the Date for a cohesive look. Impression Paperie, 985-893-9589.

Jt's Your Time Events
PLANNING A WEDDING can be wonderful, fun and exciting, but at times it can also be very frustrating and time consuming. During the planning process, most people spend an average of 20 to 30 hours planning the details of the wedding (planning only the day of the event). This doesn’t include the time spent looking at various locations, pouring over bridal magazines, and shopping for the perfect dress. The 20 to 30 hour figure refers simply to coordinating all the details you need to make the wedding go off without a hitch. If you have a more complex wedding, if you are inviting a lot of guests, if you are having a destination or beach wedding, or if you are making decorations yourself, planning a wedding can take much longer. I specialize in event planning, designing and coordinating. My work involves developing a relationship with you so I can better work with you and your vendors to bring to life your vision to create an aesthetically pleasing, beautiful environment. I guide the overall look and feel of your event to ensure that each supplier is on the same creative wavelength, implementing and executing your vision throughout and bringing everyone and everything together to create a wedding that is not just cohesive, but that also infuses and reflects your personalities as a couple. Our journey through the planning process begins with you, your fiancé, possibly your parents, and myself. I actively listen to your wishes and needs so I can better define to your vendors what you want your wedding to feel like—to better understand your personality, your style, your ideas and define your dreams and vision. After our initial meeting, I work with you to create an inspiration board which will act as the master plan to guide every design decision throughout the planning process. Together, we will determine the rest of the aesthetic elements—flowers, linens, stationery design, prop sourcing, wardrobe, tablescapes and lighting. Each detail carries out your vision, and nothing is overlooked. On your wedding day, I will be there to implement and style every element, making sure our visual representation is fully executed. We are at our happiest when you are! My key message is it is your time, and all events are personal. I will take things off your hands that you do not have time for or are not interested in doing yourself. I will get to know
your tastes so the wedding is executed and tailored around your personality right from the start. You, potentially, won’t have to worry about any coordinating (except maybe if the electricity goes out). On your wedding day, none of you should have to deal with vendors or giving guests directions. That is a coordinator’s job. This is a celebration of life and love, and it is my job—my goal—to make it so you can relax and enjoy this most wonderful wedding day, including the week and month leading up to your special event.

Planning a Bridal Tea?
12 Sophisticated Weddings | 2015/2016
WRITTEN BY ANNA LEDONNE PHOTOS BY NICK SALVETTI
HOSTING A BRIDAL shower may seem like a daunting task, but it certainly does not need to be complicated or difficult. Often, the hostess of a bridal shower must worry about details like time, cost and décor—and a bridal tea offers a fun, easy solution to all of these hostess dilemmas. A bridal tea creates an elegant yet laid-back theme ideal for a southern bride. Floral tablecloths combined with tastefully mismatched teapots and china make the perfect setting for an “English garden” themed tea party, and finding these items is easy to do. If there are multiple hostesses, you can source china from each person, and you can also search for vintage finds at resale boutiques and thrift shops.
Sophisticated Weddings | 2015/2016 13
Teacups make fantastic whimsical containers for floral arrangements, and a simple rose tied with raffia is an excellent alternative to napkin rings. A few more effortless touches like personalized signs honoring the bride, recycled bottles featuring single roses, and place cards at each guest’s seat will surely help to create a charming atmosphere. The décor can be as labor-intensive or low-key as you like, but you certainly don’t need a large budget to make a beautiful impact. In fact, for a bridal shower hostess, a tea is a budget-friendly solution that’s also versatile in terms of size and location. Whether you plan to host a small gathering at your home or a larger group at a local tearoom, a bridal tea can be suited to accommodate a party of any size. 14 Sophisticated Weddings | 2015/2016
At a tea, the menu is lighter—it can be limited to small portions and traditional tea servings of finger sandwiches, scones and fruit. Once you have an idea of how many guests to expect, portion-planning is a piece of cake! One pot of loose-leaf tea serves 2-4 people (we like the wedding blend from the English Tea Room!) and you should plan for each guest to have two of each type of sandwich as well as one of each type of scone or dessert. If you’re serving a small group, tiered trays are terrific for placing food on the table, and for larger groups you can create a buffet allowing guests to serve themselves. Of course, no shower is complete without a parting favor for your guests. Something tearelated is always appropriate, but there is plenty of room for creativity here. We chose beautiful porcelain flower magnets wrapped in clear cellophane bags. You can place these gifts on each guest’s seat or arrange them on a pretty tray or cake stand near the door for your guests to take as they leave.

A First Look O
ne of the most emotionally charged moments of a wedding ceremony is the first time the bride and groom see each other. Traditionally, this moment occurs when the bride walks down the aisle and meets her groom at the altar. However, a new trend in modern weddings is a “First Look”, a private moment between the bride and groom, recorded by a photographer.

What was the most fun detail about the reception?
Well, after an evening full of timid conversation, nervous sweating, and Justin nearly having a stroke, we walked out of the restaurant engaged to be married.
What was your favorite moment of the ceremony? Seeing Justin smiling at the end of the aisle.
How many dresses did you try on? A lot!
There were a lot! We had a martini luge, and as a wedding gift, my mother-in-law had an artist painting a scene of the reception. The flowers were absolutely beautiful, and the band was fantastic.
How was the cake? Our cake was an elegant traditional wedding cake with praline filling. It was the most delicious cake I have ever tasted. The groom’s cake was a replication of Justin’s grandparents’ wedding cake to honor their 56th wedding anniversary.

What made your wedding special? Family. Our wedding was truly all about family. They are what made everything so memorable. Everyone pitched in to help and celebrate us! I couldn’t imagine our big day without all of them.
Tell us about your dress. My dress was exactly what I envisioned. It was an off-white, sweetheart, lace dress with an English tulle bottom. There was a jeweled belt on a cream ribbon under the bust. I added tulle off-the-shoulder straps to top it all off. I would wear it everyday if I could.

What was your favorite detail? Our favorite detail was the lounge created by Audra from Distressed Rentals. It was the perfect touch to the venue! Poppy & Mint and Luminous Events accented it just perfectly.
Did you have a grand exit? Our grand exit was so fun. Kinfolk Brass band led a second line out of The Chicory onto Fulton Street. He used a painting by her grandmother (of the proposal that hadn’t yet occurred) at the end of the gallery to pop the question. Over a year later, the two said “I Do” on November 22, 2014, carrying the personal and romantic theme over into their stunning Northshore wedding.
Describe your wedding style in three words. Classic. Romantic. Personal.
What made your wedding so personal? It was truly a family affair. Every person present contributed to our wedding in some unique way. You could feel all of the love in the room that day.
Did you have a wedding planner? Vinnie, my mom Gaby and I planned the entire wedding ourselves. I’ll admit that she did most of the work! We had an overall idea and she made everything happen.
Tell us about your dress. I fell in love with the first dress I tried on! I knew I wanted a dress with an illusion neckline and I found it immediately.
What was your favorite moment of the ceremony? My favorite moment was when I walked through the doors at the Abbey with my dad—I could see Vinnie tearing up at the front of the church, which made me start crying, and then I could barely see anything for the rest of the way down the aisle! When we finally got to the altar, our celebrant commented that it was the first time he had seen both the bride and the groom come up crying!
What was the most memorable moment of the reception? My sister Grace, Maid of Honor, surprised us by getting on stage with the band and singing two special songs. She sang At Last and Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud and got the whole reception to their feet.
Did you have a grand exit? I changed into a little 20s inspired shift dress and we ran out through a blaze of sparklers!

auren Elizabeth Forjet, daughter of Joel Randazzo Forjet and Felix Emile Forjet, Jr., is the lead cake decorator at the family’s Italian
bakery, Nonna Randazzo’s. As you can imagine, when Lauren married Charles Hobbs Sclafani, Jr., son of Rox Anne Sclafani, on June 28, 2014, the day was filled with lots of love for the couple, as well as a love of food, pastries and fine wine!
Forjet-Sclafani How did he propose? He proposed to me on Halloween of 2013. He spent the day at my brother’s house carving pumpkins. My entire family knew what was going on—he even included my nephew. I saw the pumpkins all set up to take pictures, but when I went to the other side, I saw it! “Will you marry me?” was carved into four different pumpkins, and he dropped down to one knee in the front. I was so surprised.
Describe your wedding style in three words. Beautiful, Elegant, Traditional.
Did you hire a wedding planner? My wedding planner was my mother. She did a fantastic job (even calling a favorite California winery and giving them the menu so they could pair the wine to be served with our food). Several very close family friends made sure that all the details were taken care of the morning of the wedding.
Tell us about your dress! I got my dress from Southern Bridal in Mandeville. It was a timeless A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline by Essence of Australia, with full lace over regency organza. We added a full-lace bateau neckline jacket by San Patrick Pronovias with quarter length sleeves and a beautifully adorned belt with pearls and rhinestones.
What was your favorite moment of the ceremony? The first was standing behind the doors with my arm interlocked with my Dad’s and him telling me how beautiful I was and how much he loved me. The second was kneeling on the altar next to my husband. The church was filled with so much love and happiness it was overwhelming, but we managed to take a brief second to whisper “I love you” to each other.
What was the most memorable moment of the reception? It had to be our first dance. Again, everything was going so fast and there were so many people that we wanted to see, it was a few minutes to hold each other and be together.
What was your favorite detail? “Love is sweet” - My favorite detail of the wedding had to have been our dessert bar. We had it filled with my favorites—peanut butter cookies, heart shaped chocolate chip cookies, orange pudding cake cupcakes. It also had traditional Italian desserts like cannoli, fig cookies, biscotti toast and Italian wedding cookies. The venue packed a box for us to take on our honeymoon!
Tell us about your cake. The cake was everything I ever imagined. I grew up seeing the cakes made with the fountains in the center at our family bakery and I always knew that I wanted one. Of course, I did make my own wedding cake. It was ivory to match my dress. I piped the entire thing with cornelli lace and added ivory pearls for accents. The cake was almond, traditional wedding cake flavor, but I had strawberry filling in the center. It was delicious!
What is one thing that made your wedding day special? One thing that made my day very special was the police escort that we had from Covington to Slidell. We had three police cars arrive at our house, but when two other officers found out that it was someone from St. Bernard getting married, they (being former St. Bernard residents) joined in the escort. To see the cars and trucks flying past us and stopping all the other traffic was an exciting experience!

An elegant venue of historical significance, The Southern Hotel served as both the inspiration and the setting for the glamorously styled wedding. The Camellia Sun Room’s elegant travertine floors and lofty ceiling, bordered by wall-to-wall French doors and elegant marble sideboards, create an inviting and classically neutral space for any event. A palette of soft Tiffany blue paired with gold and ivory enhance the natural beauty of the grand room. Floral arrangements with lots of greenery, whites and muted pinks sit atop stunning crystal globes, making quite a statement. Gold-rimmed china and gold-plated flatware are complemented by menus adorned with vintage silhouettes, soft pink hydrangeas and gold lettered place cards. The table is flanked by two stately gold and white canopy chairs, ideal seating for the bride and groom.

Choosing
A DIAMOND While most elements of choosing a diamond are determined by cost and quality (think the four C’s: clarity, cut, color and carat),
there is one more objective aspect that can
be achieved on any budget. The ideal shape
of a diamond is purely based on preference.
34 Sophisticated Weddings | 2015/2016
All rings from DeLuca’s Jewerly
Round: The most popular and timeless
choice, round diamonds account for 75 percent of all diamonds sold. Round diamonds are brilliant cut and have 58 facets, maximizing their sparkle factor. If you are unsure what type of diamond you or your partner prefers, a round diamond is a sure bet. Celebrity proponent: Mila Kunis
Wreaths for any occasion, Parties for the fun of it.
Princess:
The second most popular shape, after the round diamond. The traditionally square or slightly rectangular, four-sided, pyramid shape is cut with many intricate facets creating lots of sparkle. A princess cut must be set with prongs protecting the corners and is beautiful in a solitaire setting. Celebrity proponent: Hilary Duff
Water Street Wreaths

Emerald: The name stems from the most
traditional cut for emerald gemstones. Rectangular with long step-cut facets framing the open table (the face of the diamond), an emerald cut emphasizes the clarity of a diamond. Celebrity proponent: Reese Witherspoon
Tuesday – Friday 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM Saturday 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM Closed: Sunday & Monday
Asscher: The same step-cut facets of an
emerald cut, except square. Again, diamond clarity is a must for this shape. The dramatic cut evokes a vintage appeal that we love. Celebrity proponent: Kate Hudson
Cushion: The cushion cut is the perfect
in-between of the princess and the round. Square or rectangular with rounded pillow-like corners, its large facets create a brilliant sparkle. Celebrity proponent: Giuliana Rancic
Oval: Much like the classic round, an oval dia-

mond has a beautiful brilliance created from intricate facets. Oval diamonds can accentuate long fingers or create the illusion of slender fingers for smaller hands. Celebrity proponent: Blake Lively
Marquise: Like the oval, a marquise
diamond’s elongated shape can make fingers appear long and slender. Their brilliant cut can maximize carat weight and the interesting shape is perfect for those with a flair for the dramatic. Celebrity Proponent: Catherine Zeta Jones
Pear:
An ideal combination of a round and marquise diamond, the pear shaped diamond is pointed at one end. We love this unique shaped diamond in a solitaire setting. Celebrity proponent: Victoria Beckham
Radiant: This square or rectangular diamond is defined by its brilliant-cut facet pattern in both the crown (bottom) and pavilion (top) of the diamond, creating a hybrid between a cushion and a princess cut. Celebrity proponent: Khloe Kardashian
Heart:
A unique and obvious symbol of romantic love, the heart-shaped diamond has yet to make a comeback as a popular engagement ring style. Celebrity proponent: Lady Gaga

Cake Pulls
This Southern wedding tradition dates back to Victorian times when a bride would place tiny charms in the wedding cake for her attendants. Each charm symbolizes a different fortune for the bridesmaid, and the tradition remains mainly unchanged to this day.
Second Lines
A New Orleans cultural brass band tradition, the term “second line” comes from parade-goers lining up behind the “main line” of the actual parade or band, simply to dance and enjoy the music. Their purpose in weddings is to signify a new beginning for the bride and groom.

The fleur-de-lis is not necessarily a tradition in itself, but a motif used in Louisiana for hundreds of years. This decorative symbol, literally meaning “flower of the lily,” isn’t just a Saints logo. In Louisiana it’s used traditionally in décor and architecture and is the perfect image to adorn a wedding invitation, decorate a ballroom, or become part of a wedding logo. Royal Event Rentals, 985-400-9416.
Parasols & Handkerchiefs
Used in second lines, brides and grooms often carry parasols and position themselves at the front of the line to lead the way from church to reception, or to make a grand exit. Wedding guests may use personalized handkerchiefs or simply grab a cocktail napkin to join in on the fun! Backyard Printing, 985-231-7789 Haute Dames, 985-869-8788

WRITTEN BY SARAH COTTRELL
WITH OVER 25 years of experience in the travel industry, Stephanie Miller Murphy decided three years ago to open her own boutique travel consulting company, Travel With Stephanie, which specializes in luxury travel and custom international travel. According to Stephanie, the top reasons couples choose destination weddings are ease of planning, cost-effectiveness and amount of time with loved ones. Many couples who have destination weddings choose to stay for several days after their guests have gone home. By combining the wedding and the honeymoon, the bride and groom save on cost as well as on the headaches of planning two separate events. Also, many couples opt for destination weddings because they allow for more quality time with friends and family. The typical wedding reception will last only a few hours, and all too often the bride and groom are unable to enjoy most of it because they spend so much of their time trying to say hello to everyone. Destination weddings usually span out over several days, allowing the bride and groom ample quality time with their loved ones in a far more relaxed environment. As Northshore residents, we are fortunately able to have destination weddings without traveling far at all. Florida’s gulf coast provides the perfect setting for a beach wedding without the added expense of air travel. And though it’s long been a local favorite for summer getaways, Destin’s sugar white sands and emerald green waters have made it a choice backdrop for romantic beach weddings. Convinced yet? Pack up that dress and take a trip east! When choosing a location, it is important to be sure the venue can accommodate your wedding party and any of its unique needs. For a Destin-ation wedding, the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa is ideal. Whether you’re looking for a small, intimate gathering or a large, extravagant celebration, this resort can accommodate. This resort offers three all-inclusive packages, which each include a team of wedding experts available to assist you every step of the way. Another reason to love the Hilton Sandestin is the plethora of activities available that contribute to the carefree vacation mood. With four golf courses, 15 tennis courts, three pools (including one indoor), and free shuttles to local retail shops, there is something here for everyone in your wedding party. Also, between the six restaurants ranging from casual to fine dining and the 24 hour room service, this resort can cater to any guest’s dietary needs or dining preferences.
Photos by Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa
One distinct benefit of a destination wedding is that the entire bridal party gets to relax for a few days and experience the beauty of the location. No matter how near or far you travel from, a clear advantage of destination weddings is that everyone is in a more laid-back vacation mood and can enjoy the couple’s special day. With proper planning, a destination wedding weekend can feel just as carefree as the most luxurious of vacations. Speaking of luxury, the tranquility of the Hilton’s exquisitely decorated 14,500 square foot Serenity Spa offers a perfect place to unwind before the wedding. Treat your bridal party to some pre-wedding spa time with specialty treatments featuring seawater pearls and sea salt or traditional beauty treatments like facials, manicures, and pedicures. Also available is a lounge area that can be rented for the bridal party.

The hotel offers several location options for the wedding ceremony, but what better backdrop than beautiful sugar white sand beaches and emerald green waters? A sunset ceremony offers an idyllic backdrop and flattering light for wedding photos. Your team of experts will handle the catering, flowers, organizing, and officiate all your day-of needs to ensure that your special day is as perfect as you dreamed it would be. The best part is that after the wedding you can immediately begin your honeymoon in one seamless event. 2 Weeks Before Review final RSVP list, and call any guests who have not yet sent a response. Deliver must-have shot lists to photographer and videographer. (Tip: Include who should be in formal portraits, and consult your photographer to determine when portraits will be taken.)
Deliver final song list to your DJ or bandleader. Include special song requests and any songs you do not want played. Get your last pre-wedding haircut and color. Give reception site including caterer final guest head count.
(Tip: Include vendors, such as the photographer or band members, who will expect a meal. Ask how many extra plates the caterer will prepare. Let them know if any guests have special dietary needs such as those with celiac disease. If there will be young children at the wedding, consider a child’s option.)
Supply the location coordinator with a list of vendor requests such as a table for DJ or setup space needed by florist. If you are having a sit down dinner, prepare seating chart. Print place and table cards, or finalize list with the calligrapher you have hired to do so. Call all wedding vendors and confirm arrangements. Give the ceremony and reception site managers a schedule of vendor delivery and setup times, plus contact numbers. Get the groom’s hair trimmed. Attend bachelor and bachelorette parties.
2-3 Days Before Have your gown pressed or steamed if necessary. (Tip: Most bridal boutiques provide this service for their brides free of charge.)

(Tip: Ceremony rehearsal and rehearsal dinner are actually best done two nights before the ceremony to ensure that everyone is well-rested and ready for the big day.)
Present attendants with gifts at the rehearsal dinner.
Day-Of Don’t forget to eat and drink plenty of water during the day. It’s going to be a very long day! Present parents and each other with gifts. Give wedding bands to the best man and maid of honor to hold during the ceremony. Give best man the officiant's fee envelope, to be handed off after the ceremony. Introduce your reception site manager to your consultant or maid of honor for any questions or problems during the reception. Assign a family member or attendant to be the photographer's contact so he knows who is who. RELAX AND TAKE IT ALL IN! It’s your special day, enjoy!
Post-Wedding Designate a person to take your wedding day items to a place of safe keeping. Pre-arrange for someone to return any rentals. Pre-plan for attendants to take the bride's gown for cleaning and return the groom's tux to the rental shop.
Groom: Go for a final fitting and pick up your formalwear. Have the best man confirm that all groomsmen attend fittings and pick up their formalwear. Determine wedding-party positions during ceremony and the order of the party in the processional and recessional. Deliver place cards, table cards, menus, favors, and any other items for setting the tables to the caterer and/or reception site manager. Reconfirm final details with all vendors. Discuss any necessary last-minute changes, including delivery times. Deliver welcome baskets to the hotel concierge; make sure to include names and delivery instructions.
