Lot 16 A large Chinese grey pottery horse, Han dynasty (206 BC - AD 220), modelled standing four-square on sturdy, braced legs with a hogged mane on its thick curved neck, its head raised with mouth open in a whinny, revealing rows of teeth below flaring nostrils and bulging eyes, the ears alertly pricked, its short upright tail tied ending in a knot, 115cm high £3,000 - 5,000 Provenance: A private collection in London. The result of Oxford Authentication Ltd. thermoluminescence test no. C97b48 is consistent with the dating of this lot.
