Welcome to our 14th annual bull sale. This year will feature new AI/ET genetics in Duff Redwood, Canadian Classic and Basin Payweight as well as progeny from our new herdbulls Black Wheel Dracarys 178E and Red Six Mile Wick 146H. Lot 2 & 3 are out of our 2021 high selling bull Red ACC Redbox 119H. Lot 4-6 are full brothers to 119H and 7-9 are maternal half brothers these bulls offer a great opportunity to those that wished they had purchased 119H or have expressed interest in using him since. The offering is deep in quality and variety and includes many popular sire groups such as Nozeka, Redbox 55C, Foreigner 413B, Gold Buckle, Stirling, Momentum, Stunner and Buckaroo.
This year the bulls were fed a balanced TMR growing ration of hay silage, straw, corn silage, rolled barley, whole oats and a custom formulated mineral. The bulls are very athletic and have been wintered in large paddocks to ensure they get plenty of exercise. They will go straight to work and walk your pastures with ease. All of the cattle are familiar with both horses and dogs. We work with the bulls daily and we value the good dispositions in our breeding lines.
We took a pen of black bulls on the road this fall and had Champion Pen of Bulls at Harvest Showdown. We also had them on display in the Yards at Agribition wHere they were admired for their uniformity. Brian Blyth and ABC Cattle Co allowed us to show our high selling bull from the 2021 sale Red ACC Redbox 119H at Agribition. He was the heaviest Red Angus bull in the barn at 2540 lbs while still showcasing athleticism and fresh appearance.
2022 was a complete turn around from 2021 as we were blessed with early and consistent rains throughout May and June. We baled 1750 bales of hay, made 1000 tonnes of Hay silage, 1000 tonnes of Corn silage and 1800 bales of straw. It felt like the summer was spent baling and hauling hay. In July we celebrated the marriage of Breanna and Wade on the hottest day of July. The ceremony and reception was in town at the museum and we hosted family and friends at the farm for a weekend of visiting, looking at cattle, horse rides for the kids and barbeques.
The cattle market seems to have turned a corner lately also. With the tightest supply of feeder cattle in Canada since 2014 and the US cow herd is at its smallest since 1961. Calf prices this fall will likely be as good or better than they are now, and now is the time to keep back females and rebuild herds hit by the drought of 2021.
Austen and Katie have been kept busy with Finley who turned 2 in January. He loves doing chores with his dad, Papa or Gido even though he sleeps through most of it. They are expecting baby number two at the end of May. Their house is a buzz of activity and a seemingly endless collection of toy tractors busy carpet farming.
Breanna and Wade recently returned from their honeymoon in Hawaii and are settling into their life as husband and wife in Raymore.
Bruce and Ione are enjoying being grandparents, some traveling and enjoying time at the lake.
T Bar is once again managing the sale. We have complete confidence they will assist you with your requests. You are welcome to stop by the farm any time prior to the sale to view the cattle. If we can help you select your next herd sire please don’t hesitate to call. Hope to see you March 28th!
Sincerely,
Austen AndersonFROM THE DESK AT T BAR...
Welcome to the 2023 Anderson Cattle Co. Red and Black Angus Bull Sale. Manitoba is the birth place of the Canadian Angus Association and just like Manitoba, the Anderson family has a long storied past in the Angus business. With the sixth generation of Anderson’s now calling the hills south of Swan River home, they continue to influence this great breed. First known for black cattle, the Anderson family had huge impact to Canadian Angus. One of the most prominent cow families in the entire country, the “Tibbie’s” was introduced to the world by Bruce Anderson. When Bruce and Ione branched out from the family farm, to start their own family and the birth of Anderson Cattle Co. is when the Red’s were introduced. Their insights to breeding Red cattle and incorporating black genetics and black cow families has influenced the Red Angus breed throughout North America.
This year’s offering is one of their best ever! Through the use of extensive AI and embryo transfer, combined with a consistent and productive cow herd they are able to offer you this outstanding set of bulls. The Andersons offer a balance of calving ease sires for your heifer pen and performance sires to breed to your mature cows that will produce pay weight calves that will put you in prime position to take advantage of a rising market, that will be even higher when the time comes to market the calves from this pen of bulls. All bulls selling will also give you the desired traits you need in your replacement females.
Whether you need Black or Red genetics or a combination of both you can find what you are looking for here. All backed up by a family four generations strong. Their customer service has kept them in business all these years and it is how they plan to stay in business for generations to come.
Feel free to call Austen or Bruce anytime to discuss this offering and the ones best suited to your needs. Come ahead or sale day to view the bulls and if you want to see their mother’s they would be proud to show you.
If you can’t make it to the sale also feel free to call myself or any of the T Bar Team to discuss this great offering.

2023
We are really excited to lead this year’s sale offering off with a really complete Red ACC Nozeka 81G son raised by a young U-2 Authentic 139A daughter. Nozeka 81G’s progeny were very impressive and sought after at the Wraz dispersal in December. We have calved out his daughters and they are very maternal and have beautiful tidy udders. Use 1K on heifers with confidence and just like his sire you will have a darn nice set of dark red calves to wean in the fall.
Red ACC Redbox 48K easily could have been lot 1 in this book. We are so proud of the bull that 119H has become and are thrilled with how well he has bred. His daughters are leading the pack in the replacement heifer pen. His dam Heather 147D does not miss and has sent bulls to K4 Land and Cattle, Ray Jerome, Glen Brink.

RED
We are very pleased with our bulls purchased from Anderson Cattle Co. The bulls are gentle and good natured. They generate a good calf crop with no calving issues.
Red Box
Long spined Redbox son raised by a deep bodied, broody Cannonfire daughter. 30K has more frame and is recommended for cows. We bred 127F back to 119H again and she has one of the thickest bull calves on the ground so far.
Lot 5-6 are full siblings to Red ACC Redbox 119H. Lot 9-11 are half siblings out of Duff Redblood. These bulls are extremely high quality and would be competitive in any bull pen. Redbox 119H was widely admired at Agribition and many breeders expressed interest in using him. Here is your chance to get a full brother or a half brother to breed heifers.

Lot 4-9 are out of our prolific donor 13B and the very popular heifer bull Red Duff Red Blood. These bulls offer sleep at night calving ease in a dark red moderate package. 13B is extremely consistent with producing easy fleshing and attractive progeny. We have a dozen daughters in production so far and they are peas in a pod.

RED ACC Red Box
Lot 10 and 11 are full siblings out of Redbox 55C and Tibbie 94C. We sold Tibbie 94C in the Keystone Klassic this December to Emmatt Creek where they plan to continue flushing her. These bulls offer extra thickness and power and are recommended for cows.

Breeding Philosophy
For 90 Years we’ve been breeding Angus to make a better cow. Excellent feet and udders comes standard, you won’t see it mentioned much in footnotes because if a cow develops problems we band the calf and send her down the road. We want females that are attractive made with clean (not tight) front ends, deep sided with lots of spring of rib and powerful rear thirds. Beyond looking attractive we believe females that look the part are both fertile and easy to maintain. We breed cattle to excel in the parkland region of the eastern prairies, Bulls will have adequate frame size to breed any and all frame sizes of females. We don’t mess around with bad natured cows or cows that don’t have the maternal skills to calve unassisted, get that baby licked off and fed regularly.
We run cows on a variety of terrain from hard sand hills to soft peaty/rocky bush country. This type of terrain and our long winters means that any problems with feet are going to be evident very quickly and we cull those females out and band the calf. It is these principles that have allowed us to stay in the seedstock business for the better part of a century.
Half sibling to lot 10 and 11 and built very similar. 94C sons have sold to 4 Eggie farms and Horatchka Farms. This bull offers lots of performance and is recommended for cows.
We only have one Wick son this year as we AI’d heifers 1st and then turned him out. We used him on all our heifers in 2022 and have some really impressive calves on the ground this year. The granddam Roxie 40D is a prime candidate for flushing. Wick 179K comes highly recommended for heifers and will add style and muscle shape to his calves.
Dracarys 19K
Lots 14 to 23 are our 1st offering from our new to us herd bull Black Wheel Dracarys 178E. We were really impressed with him at the Saskatchewan Angus tour when he was a yearling and watched Wheeler Stock Farms have great success with him including his son Red Wheel Stark 67G. Lot 14 is exactly what we hoped for from Dracarys, the only thing to change would be to turn him red.

DRACARYS 44K
This will be Justin ‘s 3rd year at ACC. He has shown to have tremendous passion for the seedstock industry, a talent for fixing our old equipment and is developing new skills in his role as herdsman all the time.
Cow
alert, 33K is all performance, dark red and has a prolific cow behind him. 33Z raised us a herd bull Nozeka 98G, a sale bull for Cam Issac, several replacement females and our donor female Red ACC Tibbie 144D is out of 33Z. Watch for her calves next year as we have a bunch of bull calves by her and Duff
ACC Dracarys 69K
Built like a brick shit house and raised by a power cow, 44K will sire calves that will pound down the scale and add thickness . Recommended for cows. 2287440
Heifer RECOMMENDED
Red carrier heifer bull. He’s complete, great footed and his dam has raised three replacement females in a row before him.
Red ACC Dracarys 74K is my pick of this sire group. He’s really square built, good footed, lots of hair and herd bull character. His dam is a beautiful wedge shaped cow with the udder style that we strive for (strong attachment, lots of width between teats and a long spacing between front and back teats) He moves very freely and does have some extra set to his back legs compared to some of the other bulls.

Testimonial:
We purchased our 1st ACC bull in 2019 and were really impressed with how he turned out. Austen stops by every spring for a visit while delivering bulls south of Winnipeg. Last summer we were short on heifer calves so we toured the ACC herd and selected 8 replacement females. We are very excited about their future at Broken Spoke Angus.
RED ACC Nozeka 84K
ACC Nozeka 98G for our own use the same year 81G was our high selling bull to WRAZ. 98G has a little more birth weight and frame then 81G but still calves easily, This son is super smooth and sound. He would work great on a set of heifers or cows. Maternal brother is ACCI 95J in the two year old pen. Justin picked out a nice maternal sister when he was putting together the start of his purebred herd.
We selected
Really solid made bull with great depth through his chest and rib. Both dam and granddam are in production. This thick made bull can excel in the heifer pen or on cows.

Pay Raise
Our lead off black bull was also part of our pen of our Champion Pen of Bulls at Harvest Showdown. 9K was a standout in the bull pasture all summer, was the heaviest bull in his contemporary group and the heaviest bull in the bull pen. The most impressive part is that he started with a 71 lb birthweight. He’s got some extra frame and length and will sire calves that are born unassisted and pay top dollar in the fall when they hit the market.
Pay Weight 81K
A perfect bull if someone is looking for a moderate calving ease bull for their heifers. His dam broke her leg in a breeding injury in May and he was on his own to steal from then on. He must have been talented at it because he kept up with the rest of the calves and turned into a very nice heifer bull.
Stunner
This is little Finley’s bull in the sale and he sure has a knack for raising the great ones. Katie’s cow Stumpie 23A had a pen favourite last year that sold to Rocking W Ranch. 80K is patterned the same and grabs your attention when you walk in the pen. He’s a performance bull and should be used on cows.
Stunner
Really nice heifer bull that is super complete. Dam is a daughter of HF Gold Buckle 92E, we are really happy with how those females have turned out.
Sleep
Gold Buckle
Really long made calving ease bull. Granddam raised lot 32. Gold Buckle sons have been highly popular over the last few years and we are down to our last few straws so get them while you can. The daughters are hard to fault.
Gold Buckle
Lots of calving ease in this pedigree, the dam 34H is by HA Stirling 6170. Our high selling bull last year was a son of Stirling. Lot 38 and 39 are very similar and would work really well in a heifer pen together. They will sire long made calves that are born unassisted and grow.
Gold Buckle
Some
on lot 40, his
DMM Canadian Classic 12G was the winner of the Saskatchewan Angus Sweepstakes in 2019. This bulls dam raised our herdbull Stunner 95G, the dam of lot 29 and a bull for Wayne Airriess.
#2
in his daughters.
Bigger frame bull suitable for breeding cows. His dam Missie 522C has been flushed successfully. We sold her 1st calf to Devin Boiston in the Keystone Klassic. She has been a great provider of sale bulls with sons selling to Brightside Stables Ltd., Neil Rooks, BWR Stock Farm, Flying Ranch, Bruce Rosling and Mitchell and Anne Decosse.
ACC Stirling 13K
Calving ease specialist out of a really nice Momentum two year old. Last year’s high selling bull was a Stirling son and Linden let us use him in our heifer pen before he went to BWR Stock Farms and bred heifers there. We’ve calved out most of our black heifers to him now and they have all been born unassisted.
ACC Buckaroo 14K
PACESETTER 147L
ACC Buckaroo 14K was in our pen of three bulls that went to Agribition and was champion pen at Harvest Showdown. 9E is a really cool profiling cow with an elegant front end and a deep wedge shaped body. This bull will calve like a dream on heifers. He’s also halter broke and very quiet.

Heifer RECOMMENDED
Long bodied bull with a little extra frame. Dam and Granddam are big bodied females. Use on well developed heifers or cows.

As a 9 year old cow she has amazing feet and udder confirmation. She is calving ease but still puts shape and power into everything she raises. Moderate, thick Canadian bred calving ease are all adjectives to describe Red ACC Foreigner 8J. Heavily influenced by the U2 program with the great female maker Pacesetter on the dam side. Keep all the daughters out of this bull. His moderate frame size means he can breed heifers for the rest of his life.
RED
Perfect bull for someone that desires calving ease and wants to run a bull on heifers and/or cows. This bull has the frame to cover any cow out there and the calving ease and built to breed heifers all day. His Granddam Soapy 93Y was an designated elite female and produced until she was 12 years old.
Pacesetter
A moderate, complete calving ease bull to round out the two year old section. Assassin, Pacesetter and Nordal 98X are all calving ease bred. The shot of Lambda 1Z in there is going to add some performance and is also dragging down his calving ease epd. I feel confident that this bull is safe to use on heifers.
RED ACC Magnum 197J
Similar bull to Lot 56 but with even more calving ease. His dam 42A raised Red ACC Pacesetter 158D who we sold at Red Round Up for $9000 to Selte Cattle Co. Recommended for heifers
