% ! '! !& % Pencil and charcoal drawings are part of a module, Design Fundamentals, taken in Year 1 of the Diploma in Interior Architecure & Design. Pencil drawings include one point, two point and also three point perspectives. Clearly shown in the drawings below are one point perspective drawing and also 2 charcoal drawings on 2 different base of different hue. Lastly a freehand sketch of an alley at Chinatown. Shading has also been taught and applied throughout the module.

In the study of colour, the Munsell colour system is a colour system that specifies colours based on three colour dimensions, hue, lightness, and Chroma. I In which exploration of the colours was part of the module, Design Fundamentals as well. The use of a drawing guide was made and explored further in the drawing of zoomed in real life objects where the lines on the guide can assist in the improvement of accuracy in the drawings. Which can in turn be applied on painting as well. "!%&$' & "! ! & ! Construction and detailing is about the structure of the building, be it interior or exterior. Exploring different methods of constructions. building a structure which is able to withstand the weight of a brick was the first assignment. Reconstruction of a toilet at the Bedok Reservoir led us to building a model of our own without limiting it to a single storey. The concept of this model was to be angular and dynamic. The first floor was still retained as a toilet however the second floor was designed to be a cafe where the public can actually enter through a frontal approach. MOOD BOARD
To design a living, working and exhibitional space for graphic designer Bobby Chan, his wife Pamela Chan and their pet dog, Wessy. Bobby also involves himself in painting as he shows signs of interest in art culture. He displays his art pieces in his gallery where there are often buyers who will take a look in his gallery space right after stepping into the entrance of the house. Pamela is a fulltime housewife who spends her free time watching dramas and playing mahjong with her friends. her free time watching dramas and playing mahjong with her friend She also sells handmade cookies and muffins to the public and are popular in demand during special occassions.

" " % ! The Big Bang is the theme for this year’s Annual General Meeting for Temasek Polytechnic Students’ Union Financial Year 13/14. It signifies the birth of a new committee, a new Financial Year. The logo is designed to be more “in the face” and it’s related to the galaxy thus the shown designs. The design has to be more simple, minimalist so the chosen design is the design in black and white. However, the restn design is the design in black and whit can also be used as sticker decals.

The Big Bang is actually the theme for Temasek Polytechnic Students’ Union’s Annual General Meeting Financial Year 13/14. Shown here are actually sticker designs used as welcome gifts to the people who attended our AGM. And not forgetting there are also namecards that are designed for this event and also for future working partnerships with TPSU The rounded stic The rounded sticker design showing “19 NINETY” is actually designed for Temasek Polytechnic’s Campus Care Network Day event. Where students will set up stalls all around the campus and sell their products and the money collected will be donated to the Campus Care Network fund as charity. And this sticker design is done and sold to the students of TP. The 4 designs showned at the left hand side here are acrually done for the 13 Executive Members of TPSU for uses such as cllaborating with external parties in getting student benefits for TP students. It is much more professional and the selected design is the bottom right design where it has been printed and used. The different designs uses different typography and the play of placement of words.

This design is for TPSU’s Annual General Meeting backdrop and signage board. It is placed directly outside the Auditiorium. It is to allow the public to know about the feel of the AGM and also the theme which is “THE BIG BANG”. Above shown would be the 2 different backdrop designs and the chosen one is the one on the right due to the sleek and minimalist logo with a relatable background Shown on the left side here would be the 3 signage board design where 9 other constituent clubs of Temasek Polytechnic and also the director of Student & Alumni Affair.s will be signing their well wishes on the board for the executive members of that Financial Year. The chosen design is the one in the centre as it is clean and easy to be signed on.

Orientation Training Camp is a camp held in Temasek Polytechnic by Temasek Polytechnic Students’ Union, where the students will be trained and they will learn how to be a Group Leader or be in a department (Foodmin, Log, Prog). This camp is to prep them before the main camp where freshies of Temasek will be main camp where freshies of participating in, called the Freshman Orientation Workshop/Camp. Here are some poster designs of the various departments which are used to publisized to the TP population and it is open to all however, there are interviews being conducted to select the best candidates for this camp. which ultimately is for the candidates for this cam freshies of Temasek Polytechnic.

Toys  Project  is  a  project  held  in  Temasek Polytechnic  and  it  is  held  on  a  yearly  basis. This  year  would  be  “Toys  Project  lll�  which means  that  it  is  the  3rd  time  it  is  done. Toys  Project  starts  with  “U�  is  about  collect- ing  preloved  toys  from  the  Temasek  student population  and  also  a  few  selected  HDB units  from  the  nearby  vacinity  for  charity  as the  toys  will  be  given  to  children  of  the  less fortunate.  Where  this  year  they  are  brought to  Damai  Primary  School  where  a  Toys  Buffet is  held  just  for  the  children. The  process  designs  are  shown  at  the  far left  side  where  it  started  out  with  just  a  plain background  and  going  with  the  circular  design  in  the  centre.  Ultimately  the  selected final  design  is  the  one  shown  at  the  side.

Camp Unite is a camp in Temasek Polytechnic for Sub- Committee members of Temasek Polytechnic Students’ Union. Shown over in this storyboard are designs used for the camp consisting of lanyard designs, logo designs, poster designs and shirt designs. Several colours of the designs are used to differentiate the different roles that the participants have thus the 5 chosen colours. This camp took place in 26-28 July 2013 and it has a total number of 200 participants. The logo is designed in a way that the 5 different empires. (groups) are clearly segregated with the word Camp Unite in the centre where the focus is on unity, thus the enlarged font of UNITE in Camp Unite.

DREAMS VI is a performing arts concert held in Temasek Polytechnic on a yearly basis. This logo/shirt design is designed for TPDE (Temasek Polytechnic Dance Ensemble) dance members specially. VI signifies that it is the sixth time it’s being held here in Temasek Polytechnic. The logo design makes use of only gold and maroon hues and the use of strokes of only gold and maroon hues and the use of stro to overlap one another on a maroon based background.
utq~ktwzr Polytechnic Forum (PF) was started in 1996. This is an annual event, jointly organised by the staff from the 5 Polytechnics. It provides a platform for about 300 students from the 5 Poly- technics to gain a deeper understanding of national issues through discussions, group work and dialogue with industry and government leaders. ARTisTREE is a community service project discussed and thought out by sub-theme 5, “Arts, A Way of Life.” Where we focus on bringing Arts to the heartlands, and in this case our project is held at Tampines Interchange, targeting the heartlands of Tampines. Several simple poster held at designs are done below and also there was a exhibition booth on the last day where the Minister of Education, Mr Heng Swee Keat attended.
