4th Chemistry and Environment Festival The Chemistry Science Department of the Iraqi University (Al-Adhmia- Haiba Khaton, Baghdad, Iraq) held with the collaboration of the American Chemical Society - Iraqi Chapter the 4th Chemistry and Environmental festival at the fields and laboratories of the chemistry department, under the slogan "Green Chemistry for a Better Environment" on Tuesday, 23/4/2019 for a period of three days, which aims to raise the awareness of green chemistry and its applications in order to achieve sustainable development and clean environment. Where a team of 38 volunteers from the department participated under a direct supervision of - Dr. Taghreed Hashem Jassim Mohammed Al-Noor: Head of ACS-Iraq Chapter. - Dr. Abdul Qader Mohammed A-Qader: Head of Chemistry Department- Iraqi University, Member of the ACS-Iraq Chapter. - Dr. Atheer Abdul Rahim Mahmoud: Representative of the ACS-Iraq Chapter at the Iraqi University. - (Mr. Walid Khaled Ahmed, Mr. Mazen Mukhles Abdul Razak, Mr. Hussam Ismail Mahjoub, Mr.Bassam Hussein Alwan, Mr. Mohamed Adnan Ibrahim , Miss Elafe Muied Mohammed and Miss Lama Ismail Ibrahim) Department of Chemistry.

The festival was attended by more than one thousand two hundred academics and students from various universities interested in chemistry and natural sciences. The festival witnessed the opening of an exhibition of creative works, innovations and leading units of projects, laboratories and eco-friendly ideas. In addition to the establishment of workshops and seminars to recognize the importance of green chemistry and its role in preserving the environment in preparation for the launch of a number of leading projects under the supervision of the Department of Chemistry for next year.
