ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
COURSE STRUCTURE
College of Architecture, SVIT, Vasad was established by The New English School Trust (NEST), Vasad in 2000. College of Architecture is approved by Council of Architecture, Delhi. Initially it was affiliated to Gujarat University, Ahmedabad and from 2016 it is affiliated to Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar. It is one of the reputed Architectural colleges of the state known for its high quality of pedagogy. As our college is part of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology campus which offers degree courses in about eight different disciplines, we are uniquely poised to present a special multi-disciplinary exposure to our students. Architecture and Interior Design has always been a creative, open-minded profession with an affinity for logic, reasoning and planning. Our course helps the students understand the continuity of concerns in the realm in architecture from the conception to design, development and construction including post-occupancy studies and conservation. The college continuously promotes co-curricular activities like construction site visits, Educational tours in India and abroad, Relative study programme, sports, cultural programs etc. Students are offered many value addition programs. Training programs for software like AutoCAD, Revit, 3d Max, Corel draw, Photoshop, Power point, and other graphic software widely used in the field of architecture are also arranged for students. Programs on personality development are also conducted for students. Students also participate in activities like debates, juries, quizzes, film club.
12th Standard Pass (Any Stream) with minimum Aggregate Marks 40% of the Higher Secondary School Board or its Equivalent-with English as one of the subjects at SSC Xth level.
Each academic Year consist of two semesters. Every Semester except the first Semester of the 4 Year BID Programme shall include a minimum of 90 teaching days. The course revolves around the studio programs that are well equipped with experienced core faculties and regular – visiting academicians and professionals, each proficient in their area of the expertise. Student will undertake An office Training in Semester-VI to achieve practical knowledge. In the final semester of final year student will go through Thesis program as a final step for evaluating the skills learned in all previous semester.
WEIGHTAGE : Entrance Test - 70% 12th Standard(Aggregate Marks)- 30% For Higher level Admission
a) Students with Diploma in Architectural Assistantship from a recognized Institute /University may be considered for admission at appropriate level depending upon the credits earned by him/her. b) Candidates seeking Higher Level Admission shall have to appear for Interviews & any other test prescribed by concerned Institute along with their Transcripts & Portfolio of work done at the Institute he/she is coming from. AWARD OF DEGREE: On successful completion of course a students would be awarded the Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design by the Sardar Patel University. ADDITIONAL PROGRAM Site Visits, Documentations Projects, Measured drawing, Related Study programme like educational tours, communication skill. TUTION FEE : Rs. 59,000 / Year (Proposed) INTAKE : 40 Seats
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Various sports facilities are offered to enhance their sportsman spirit as well as cultural activities to bring out their talent and ultimately help them in their all round development along with academics. The students participate actively in sports like Basketball ,Swimming, Table Tennis, Cricket etc. and various cultural activities like Singing, Dancing, Drama, Pottery, Elocution arranged by Student Committee - SPRY. FACILITIES Workshops are boosters to the Studio Classes and are supported with large Computer labs, Auditorium facilities and Audiovisual Rooms. Refreshment Center along with Stationery shop and a Health Care Unit are also available in the campus. Internet access is provided in the campus through Wi-Fi. CCTV Cameras – 24x7 are installed for students' safety and vigilance.
