BEGINNING IN 1867, THE CHINO VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS A STORIED HISTORY.

VALLEYCHINO

DID YOU KNOW?

Growing from an initial enrollment of only 34 students to celebrating over 150 graduates in the Class of 2024, Chino Valley Unified School District has grown, changed, and improved over the years.

BE CURIOUS.

Welcome to Cougar Country

where autumn ushers in new beginnings and favorite traditions!

Chino Valley Unified School District opened our 2024-2025 school year on August 5th and we were excited to have the Class of ’37 join us as kindergartners. I don’t know about you, but it sure seems funny to even think about the Class of ’37! We were also blessed with an incoming “class” of new, fully certified staff including a new high school assistant principal, one new counselor, 15 teachers, a psychologist, and a Director of Special Education. Finally, we added 15 new support staff to our ranks. These folk have proven to be a fabulous addition to our campuses!

Something else that is new is our clarified vision and purpose. On May 29, district leadership, including all directors, the governing board, and administrators got together to take a good look at where we are as a district. No stone was unturned. Through that process, we worked at defining our “brand”---meaning, what do we want people to think about when they hear “Chino Valley Unified School District”? While we are very proud of the many excellent things we do, we want to be known for working together to ensure our schools are safe and that our students are prepared for life—so they can enter the workforce or continue their education, confident in their ability to succeed.

Each school and department identified goals for the short term (1 year), mid-term (2-3 years), and longer range (4-5 years). These goals were presented at the July 8 Governing Board meeting. Each month, schools and departments will be reporting to the board regarding their goals. We’ll be celebrating achievement and identifying areas for adjustment. Watch for our goals and reports on our website, www.ChinoValleySchools.com.

Autumn traditions in Chino Valley include our Territorial Days 10k and 2 mile runs and of course, our FFA Alumni Annual Corn Dinner. We know these events are part of your traditions too and we hope you will able to join us! Finally, Friday Night Lights is a terrific opportunity for our community to come together to support kids…and in Chino, football isn’t the only fall sport worth watching…we boast state champion boys’ and girls’ soccer teams both with home games under the lights this year. All sports schedules can be viewed on our website.

We wish all members of our pride a wonderful autumn!
