Welcome to Lake Martin Alabama’s Freshwater Coast

On behalf of the Lake Martin Community, we are thrilled you are considering our region for your next getaway. We can’t wait for you to experience what we love most about Lake Martin, and that all starts with Southern hospitality.

Of course, our area offers mouth-watering food, sultry sunsets and hair-raising hikes. But unlike any other city or countryside, Lake Martin is a unique, well loved and valued place not just for our residents. It’s visitors like you that keep our economy booming and our local businesses thriving.

Lake Martin is the only body of water to receive the designation of Treasured Alabama Lake due to our excellent water quality. Its nearly 900 miles of shoreline and 41,000 acres of water are the gateway to adventure, culture, recreation and, most importantly, making memories.

This year, Lake Martin Tourism and Tallapoosa County Tourism are teaming up to offer you a guide filled with on- and off-lake fun.

The Lake Martin area has activities for the whole family. Whether you’re looking for a highadrenaline paddle over the shoals of the Tallapoosa River or a relaxing boat ride on the lake, our community is filled with unforgettable experiences.

Where else can you climb a 90-foot tower and enjoy the most scenic views of the lake, zip line through trees that skirt the shoreline of Lake Martin, grab some delicious food and settle in for some live music? What about picking up that one-of-a-kind art piece handcrafted by local artists? You can even take in the history at Horseshoe Bend National Military Park, cruise the lake from island to island and catch an abundance of largemouth bass, crappie and catfish — all in one location.

At every attraction and in every quaint community, you’ll find that the people are what makes this place so special. While you’re enjoying your visit, be sure to introduce yourself. You will always find a friendly smile, an eager tip and a helpful friend.

So, welcome to Lake Martin: where you’ll say hello and never want to say goodbye.
