A los humanos nos llegó primero la razón que la conciencia. Las ciudades como las conocemos tienen razón pero no tienen humanidad y como consecuencia, van a colapsar. En una ciudad, el diseño y la arquitectura juegan un papel primordial, muchas veces no por lo que se levanta, sino por lo que no se levanta, el buen sushi no es mejor por lo que se le pone, sino por lo que se le deja de poner. El diseño y la arquitectura sustentable, consciente, responsable o mejor dicho humano, es la respuesta para encontrar una solución verdadera a los problemas que vivimos hoy. Es ahí donde Taller 13 tiene su aporte. Los edificios sustentables son ciudad, los Picnic son ciudad, los Trueques con ciudad, el Ajolote desarrollado para Burning Man, es ciudad, pero a diferencia de las ciudades a las que estamos acostumbrados, todos ellos son parte de: Ciudades más humanas. In a city, design and architecture play a primordial role, often not because of what gets up, but because of what does not get up, good sushi is not better for what you put it, but for what you are stop putting. Design and sustainable architecture, conscious, responsible or better said human, is the answer to find a true solution to the problems we live today. That´That’s where Taller 13 has its contribution . The sustainable buildings are city, the Picnic are city, the Barters with city, the Ajolote developed for Burning Man, is a city but unlike the cities to which we are accustomed they are all part of: Cities more humane.

RR-86 es un proyecto que se diseñó en conjunto con el despacho ONCE-11. Será un edificio de uso habitacional formado por siete viviendas. Uno de los objetivos, es conservar y respetar las áreas verdes actuales del predio, así como integrar eco-técnias para la captación y aprovechamiento de los recursos y energías renovables con el fin de tener un menor impacto ambiental.
RR-86 is a project that was designed with the ONCE-11 office. It will be a residential building consisting of seven homes. One of the objectives is to conserve and respect the current green areas of the property, as well as to integrate eco-technologies for the capture and use of resources and renewable energies in order to have a lower environment impact.

Es una tienda de moda y objetos urbanos que destaca por su diseño ecológico. Su fachada e interiores cuentan con jardines verticales y el diseño de su mobiliario ocupan materiales nobles, naturales y no tóxicos, todo esto para promover una estética y orientación ecológica.
It is a fashion and urban objects store that stands out for its ecological design. Its face and interiors feature vertical gardens and the design of its furniture occupy noble, natural and no-toxic materials, all this to promote an aesthetic and ecological orientation.

Este proyecto es el primer esfuerzo de Taller 13 en espacios inmobiliarios. En conjunto con Patricio Guerrero y Rafael Ayala, se apostรณ a que el inmueble fuera mรกs ecolรณgico y cada metro cuadrado fuera vendible. This project is the first effort of Taller 13 in real estate spaces. In association with Patricio Guerrero and Rafael Anaya, it was bet that the property was more ecological and each square meter was salable. The roof was planned as a social area for renters and owners.

Este proyecto fue uno de los primeros esfuerzos por crear sistemas ecológicos en un edificio. Esta construcción tiene 8 departamentos que están divididos, del lado izquierdo son sencillos de una planta , mientras que la configuración de los de lado derecho es de dos pisos, esto para generar un sentimiento de hogar. Cuenta con sistema de captación pluvial, reciclado de agua y azotea verde con plantas de fácil mantenimiento. This is one of the first attempts to create ecologic systems in a building. To enhance a homelike feeling, the 8 units are divided, and those on the left side are one level, while those to the right are two levels. The building is outfitted with a rainwater collection, water recycling system and a living roof with easy maintenance plants.

Casa Morelos se trata de la remodelación de una casa familiar de un nivel, estructurado a base de mampostería. La nueva ampliación y remodelación de los espacios se espera que sean similares a la casa actual. Casa Morelos is about the remodeling and expansion of a family house of one level, structured on the basis of masonry. The new expansion and remodeling of the spaces are expected to be similar to the current house.

Esta pieza busca ilustrar que el primer paso para volver a transformar nuestra ciudad en una ciudad lacustre comienza por entenderla, logrando ver de distintas perspectivas la evolución de nuestro sistema vivo. Cada capa representa 10 años de cómo hemos secado la huella de nuestro sistema lacustre, donde se puede observar la desecación de la región en la que vivimos, la región del Anáhuac, que en náhuatl quiere decir “cerca o junto al agua”. Esta pieza se presentó en el MODO. This piece seeks to illustrate that the first step to return to transform our city into a lake city begins by understand it, managing to see from different perspectives the evolution of our living system. Each layer represents 10 years of how we dried the trace of our lake system, when we can observe the drying of the region in which we libve, the Anahuac region, which in nahuatl means “near or next to the water”. It was presented at the MODO (Museo del objeto del objeto).

Una estructura única de mosaico habitable, diseñada para estimular nuestros cuerpos y mentes de manera simultánea. Conceptualmente resalta los aspectos mágicos de los únicos Cenotes Mayas. Un laberinto de profundidad y proporciones, a través de las costillas y topografías interactivas de Moiré. Las personas se sentirán tentadas no sólo a bailar sino a participar en todos sus ángulos y posibilidades.
A unique structure of habitable mosaic, designed to stimulate our bodies and minds simultaneously. Conceptually highlights the magical aspects of the only Mayan Cenotes. A labyrinth of depth and proportions, through the ribs and interactive topographies of Moiré. People will be tempted not only to dance but to participate in all its angles and possibilities.

Con el fin de mostrar el tamaño del problema y concientizar a la comunidad de sus consecuencias, en asociación con Greenpeace, creamos una pieza extraordinaria, H2O, mostrada en el Festival Internacional de Arquitectura y Ciudad Mextrópoli 2016. En 15,200 botellas, recolectamos unos 1,900 litros de agua de los principales ríos y canales que viven en la ciudad, entre ellos: los ríos La Piedad y Magdalena y los canales de Xochimilco. Esto nos permitió proyectar la situación del agua para la Ciudad de México. H2O se instaló en el MIDE. (Museo Interactivo de Economía). In order to show the size of the problem and to make the community aware of its consequences, in partnership with Greenpeace, we created an extraordinary piece, H2O, shown at the 2016 International Festival of Architecture and Mextropoli City. In 15,200 bottles, we collect about 1,900 liters of water from the main rivers and canals that live in the city, including: rivers La pIedad and magdalena and the channels of Xochimilco. This allowed us to project the water situation for Mexico City. H2O was installed at the MIDE (Interactive Museum of Economics).

Este proyecto fue presentado en Burning Man como un espacio para el arte y como un escenario para la música. El Axobus simboliza la preservación ecológica y la conexión entre todos los seres vivos. Created for Burning Man, this piece represents an iconic image of Mexico City. The axolotl has a unique regenerative capacity, and the message of this artwork is that, based on this principle, we can do the same with our city regenerating its spaces and its rivers.

Ubicada en una de las principales arterias vehiculares de la Ciudad de México, Viaducto Río de la Piedad, esta pieza es una infografía en forma cúbica que comunica la situación que presenta el agua del Río Viaducto, que actualmente es un río de aguas negras entubado. También muestra una guía infográfica para la recuperación, el cuidado y mantenimiento de nuestras cuencas y así recuperar el ciclo natural del agua de nuestra ciudad. Located on one of the main thoroughfares in Mexico City, Viaducto Río de la Piedad, this cubic-shaped infographic transmits the situation of the river La Piedad, currently turned into a wastewater pipeline. It also shows a guide towards the recuperation, care and maintenance of our watersheds and the restoration of the natural cycle of water in our city.

Es una pieza especial para el Año Dual Alemania-México. La idea fue mostrar al mundo la importancia de la cuenca hidrográfica de la CDMX. Para su realización, Taller 13 colaboró con Arquine para llevar esta obra a Berlín, iniciativa que surgió cuando se presentó en el MIDE. It is a special piece for the Germany-Mexico Dual Year. The idea was to show the world the importance of the watershed of CDMX. For its realization, Taller 13 collaborated with Arquine to take this work to Berlin, an initiative that arose when it was presented at the MIDE (Museo Interactivo de Economía).

Bajo la influencia de los Teepees usados por los pueblos indígenas de los Estados Unidos, surge este módulo de seguridad ciudadana. Hecho de materiales reciclados, el Trip-e funciona como una vivienda móvil que cuenta con captación de agua, celdas fotovoltaicas y más. Under the influence of the Teepees used by the indigenous peoples of the United States, this citizen security module emerges. Made of recycled materials, the Trip-e works as a mobile home that has water collection, photovoltaic cells and more.

We believe that cities can have a balance and architecture certainly has the ability to create a change that gives a more conscious sense to urban spaces, always looking for an ecological and sustainable profile.

Es un parque público de 1.6km, que tiene un humedal construido que trata aguas de drenaje e irriga su propia vegetación e incluso unas chinampas demostrativas; se están generando 30,000 litros por día. Cuatro al Cubo logró que se convirtiera en un salón de clases de … sistemas vivos, impulsando educación medio ambiental, un museo vivo para quien pase, un laboratorio para hidrobiólogos, sus estudiantes y las múltiples actividades que están organizando por la comunidad. It is a 1.6km public park, which has a constructed wetland that treats drainage water and irrigates its own vegetation and even … demonstrative chinampas; 30,000 liters per day are being generated. Cuatro al Cubo managed to turn it into a classroom of living systems, promoting environmental education, a living museum for the passer-by, a laboratory for hydrobiologists, its students and the many activities that are being organized by the community.

Con 60% del tamaño del Bosque de Chapultepec, el proyecto de Ciudad Deportiva pretende generar espacios donde convivan el deporte, el arte y las familias. La importancia de la remodelación de Ciudad Deportiva toma fuerza cuando se dimensiona que ahí justo es una Delta entre Río Churubusco y Río Viaducto Piedad. Esta obra es una colaboración con Yair Wolf.
With 60% of the size of Bosque de Chapultepec, the Ciudad Deportiva project aims to create spaces where sport, art and families coexist. The importance of the redevelopment of Ciudad Deportiva takes strength when it is measured that there is a Delta between Rio Churubusco and and Rio Viaducto. Este río situado en Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, era un lugar donde los zoques (etnia mexicana de Chiapas, Oaxaca y Tabasco) iban a rezar cada 23 de mayo (día de las flores). El proyecto pretende recuperar este importante río, ya que actualmente funciona como un drenaje que lleva agua al Cañón del Sumidero. This river locates in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, was a place where the zoques (Mexican ethnic group of Chiapas, Oaxaca and Tabasco) used to pray every May 23 (day of the flowers). The project aims to recover this important river, since it currently functions as a drainage that carries water to the Cañon del Sumidero.

This hexagonal modular system aims to make public spaces cohabitant with security spaces and urban gardens. The project is built with recycled materials and uses photovoltaic cells to generate its own energy.

Los tres proyectos se articularon gracias al apoyo del grupo CUMECA en busca de la transformación de la ciudad y la restauración de espacios públicos. Estos esfuerzos se llevan a cabo en conjunto con la comunidad de la zona para lograr una regeneración urbana.
The three projects were articulated thanks to the support of the CUMECA group in search of the transformation of the city and the restoration of public spaces. These efforts are carried out in conjunction with the community in the area to achieve urban regeneration.

La materia comunica, lleva mensajes que el diseño permite conectar con la gente, los drops son esa manifestación, ese recordatorio sagrado del agua. Los axolotes, los hikuris, son una señal que debe estar presente en nuestra vida diaria.
Matter communicates, carries messages that design allows to connect with people, the drops are that manifestation, that sacred reminder of water. The axolots, the hikers, are a signal that must be present in our daily life.

Hay algo mágico por estar vivo, para saberlo hay que darse cuenta de la importancia de estas dos cosas: el oxígeno y el movimiento. It is a house designed to create a closer bond between the owner and the pet, since it has a bench and plants that can be used for reading or enjoying the day. Este proyecto fue construido con containers de Coca-Cola. Alberga un comedor saludable y un centro de cómputo (cibercafé). Uno de los muros está hecho con botellas recicladas y funciona como muro bioclimático.
This project was built with Coca-Cola containers. It houses a healthy dining room and a computer center (cybercafe). One of the walls is made with recycled bottles and works as a bioclimatic wall.
