THE NEED Canada Legalizes Cannabis Joshua Dyson
The legalization of cannabis is not only making waves in the U.S. in certain states but also now in Canada. The prime minister Justin Trudeau announced the passing of the Cannabis Act earlier this year in June. A few months later cannabis became legal in Canada on October 17, 2018. There were long lines of people wanting to be the first of many customers at local dispensaries around Canada. With people being excited and all there are still some people who are not happy or agree with the decision. Some health care professionals have expressed concerns, claiming they think it will be abused with such things like tobacco and alcohol. Canada is the second country to legalize cannabis, the first country was Uruguay back in 2013. With this passing, adults will be allowed to buy, possess, use, and grow
