Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a pedestrian accident on Simon Bekker Road in Tedstoneville, Germiston on 29 January. Upon their arrival on scene they found that a sixyear-old child had been knocked over by a motor vehicle and was in a critical condition. The boy was treated on the scene and rushed to Tambo Memorial Hospital but tragically died a few hours after. According to Warrant Officer Kubedi, “There is still speculation regarding who was at fault when the incident took place.� A case of culpable homicide has been opened at the Elsburg police station. However, no arrests regarding the incident have been made and the exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
