WELCOME!
Hello Transfer Jags! The Transfer Student
Engagement Office welcomes you to our university's campus life. Our department provides opportunities for you to be involved on campus and get familiar with resources that you may need in order to graduate successfully. We also provide mentorship programs for students who would like to connect more on campus and have a resource at their fingertips - while also focusing on academic health. For incoming transfer students, becoming a mentee is a huge step in the right direction. While providing these opportunities, we host events for you throughout the year to help your transition and to also help the overall engagement process. We welcome all transfer students and want your experience at our university to be the most memorable!

Why does Mentoring Matter ?
It establishes a more personal connection with someone who wants the best for you. It helps you succeed, especially when you know that you always have someone in your corner; you always have a friend to talk to. It helps you feel okay in the bad times , whether it’s negative in the academic world , professional world or just as a person living day to day.
It helps others establish connections on campus, helped me find my place on campus and I wish to help others establish themselves here on campus. Finding their place. Creating a legacy and helping them write their own story.
Mentorship matters to me because without a mentor, or learning how to be one, I honestly don’t think I would be where I am today in my life. Mentorship taught me that I am not alone. That there is always someone who can relate to me and whatever I am going through academically or even personally.
Mentorship matters to me because it connected me to TAMUSA and made me a part of a community and support system. As someone who tends to be introverted it also pushed me outside my comfort zone and made me grow. Without the mentorship program, I would have felt like an outsider and may not have stuck with going back to school past a semester or two.
