PART 1 II DISRUPT THE WAY WE LIVE

When you talk about Toa Payoh(TPY), people know that it is a place where old people live, but upon visiting the site, we realized that toa payoh is always bustling with activities and is ever-changing due to the various events and exterior changes especially in the central part of TPY where condominium and mall are found. However as a group we look into the subzone of peichun (outside the central area of TPY).Where surrounding is self sufficient of it own due to the amenities around. What type of living in the non buzzling place would be?

Within each group,we are given a task to divide a paper in 5 different sections.Each menber in the grp is given 1 minute to collage, with the thought of impression of the place that we navigate and without looking the work that is done before you.

As we navigate the space at our own space and timing. Plus everyone have different perception of thing. To our surprise the outcome of the work have so much resemblance to each other.

From the collage you can see that the consistence shape such as circle and square is clearly shown.(key identity of TPY) Though there is colours in the space but however the rigrid and the cleaniness of the space causes it to seem that place have a sense of emptyness

To better Understand the residences @ TPY Lorong 8 Site Experiment

The aim of this experiment is to see the residences reaction toward their familiar surroundings.

- To see/test how the impact of disruption evoke certain behaviour or actions.

We observed that many people use the shelters to commute to and from their destinations be it rain or shine. It is almost like a communal spot.
