WESTBANK FRYE INTERIOR Year: 2016 Location: Seattle, WA Type: Residential Phase: Schematic Design Background: I work with the interior design team in the office to discuss the design for the common spaces in the project. The renderings also demonstrate my 3D modeling and renderings skills.
Rendering - L32 Kitchen
Rendering - L32 Lounge
The thought behind the image was to create cozy, bright space for residents to relax. The furniture was placed as such to extend the view to the space far away.
Adding a few people in the image showed how the space could be used. The photographer was placed next to the window to imply great view.
Rendering - L3 Lounge
Rendering - Sky Bridge
As the concept of the tower was from the art museum next to it, some artisitc interior design was adopted. And for rendering, I tried to address the harmony between the space and the arts.
The sky bridge created a special moment and made it possible for a breath-taking experience, so I focused on the natural lighting and the implication of great view.
Rendering - Residential Lobby
Rendering - Elevator Lobby
The residential lobby featured the art piece designed by Kengo Kuma, so I showed how the art piece relates to the lobby space and how it could add energy to the entrance.
The idea behind the image was to show simplicity and brightness, every object/color in the image should work together.
UW MEDICINE PHASE 3.2 Year: 2017 Location: Seattle, WA Type: Science and Technology Phase: Schematic Design Description: The donors wanted to preview how the project and their signages looks, so I worked with a visualization designer to realize it with VR Technology and Real Time Rendering. Responsibilities: Revit Modeling, Rhino Modeling, Image Rendering, Video Rendering, Virtual Reality Presentation with HTC Vive

VR WORK FLOW
Step 1. Context Modeling
Step 2. Project Modeling
The project context is modeled in Rhino, because it’s for visualization only and does not need precise parameters.
Applying material and modeling the signages are done in Revit to give more control.
Step 3. Rendering/VR Enscape for Revit renders the Revit model in real-time model and feeds the data to HTC Vive for VR experience.

Processing 360° Preview Online
Panoramic renderings were exported with Enscape. The renderings could also be done with V-ray with right settings.
I was using Viar Live.com to process the renderings for 360° photos. Then, the 360° photos could be viewed with headsets/cellphones/tablets/desktop.

The 360° photo can give the client a realitylike experience for the design. It also works well for interior design.

Rendering Video The videos were rendered through Enscape, and embedded in the presentation. With the videos, it’s easy for the client to see what it’s like when driving by. The focus was the signages on the exterior of the project.

•
Public Library and Community Space entrance at grade (.73 FSR)
•
250,060 SF within project property, 810 SF on city property
The proposed development provides approximately 5,564 sf of ground floor retail space along Joyce Street. The retail is bifurcated by the residential entry on which will feature porte-cochere flanked by overhead weather protection. The development seeks to relocate the Collingwood Library on the ground/second floor (12,510 sf) and outdoor plaza, facing the SkyTrain Station. Loading and below grade parking is accessed via the service laneway. The project envisions 6 levels of below grade parking, to accommodate, retail, library, and residential parking. The tower consists of 32 stories of residential condominiums and an upper level amenity. The current mix of units include:
