1.0 THREE RELATIONSHIPS
LINE THAT STARTS AT A SINGLE POINT PLANES THAT ARE FORMED BY LINES THE UNIVERSE BEGINS AT A SINGLE POINT AN ABYSS OF DARKNESS LOST IN TIME EARTH REMAINS UNKNOWN ‘TIL THE END SILENCE, DARKNESS, WHO ARE WE BUT TO BECOME THE DUST IN THE WIND WHAT BUT A DROP OF WATER IN AN ENDLESS SEA

Vasily Kandinsky Composition 8 ( Komposition 8 ) This work illustrates how Kandinsky synthesised elements from suprematism, constructivism, and the Bauhaus own ethos. A clear, linear quality is given by the use of shapes like triangle, circles and the checkboard (Spector 2016).
11
CONCEPT
I used four materials and various forms in my design to express the numerous relationships between point, line and plane. Point can be formed by intersect line and plane Line starts from a point then overlaying to form a plane Planes form a void centre can be considered as a point from far Also A line interrupts a plane makes the line stands out

CONCEPT
I created frame and infill using single element -- wire The wire rise from ground reaches a certain height to form a frame and then turns and transfroms into a irregular shape becomes infill

In the Beginning was..., Sorigue Foundation, Lleida Chiharu Shiota Her work explores the relationship between performer and audience, the limits of the body, and the possibilities of the mind (Shiota 2015).
23
CONCEPT
The universe begins from a singularity, and probably ends with a singularity As the dotted point I used in this painting The organic flows and those cracks indicates the beginning or the ending? WE NEVER KNOW

2.1 CONCEPTACLE
I tried to combine the three tectonics by form to explore the secret within architecture itself. There are clear indications of above ground, on ground and underground. The regular repeats of wire seems formal underground, and then turn to irregular above ground. Combined with blocks and strings to create an interesting shadow on ground and underground.

2.2 SITE ANALYSIS
The experience is created by the setting of the island. Seeing and experiencing encompasses intuition, emotion, smell, touch, taste and sound. The pathes, the topography, the vegetation all together creates its unique experience of an isolated island far from city.
31
PRECEDENT Installation Aerial par Monika Grzymala The interesting part of this installation is that the repeats of a simiple element can create a dramatic effect. Also the pattern from regular to irregular is fascinating. Those little pieces on the wall strengthen the effect.
32
2.3 CONCEPT AND SKETCH DESIGN
My sketch design is about repeating lines and try to create a mysterious feeling. Different lineweight and colour indicates different positions and functions.

2.4 DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
Pavilion as a minor world. It’s an imagery world that gives an unimagined spatial possibility. The secret is within the architecture and the architecture itself. The experience of space dissolves conceptions of structure and form into the surface.
IMMENSITY IS WITHIN OURSELVES. AS SOON AS WE BECOME EMOTIONLESS, WE ARE ELSEWHERE; WE ARE DREAMING IN A WORLD THAT IS IMMENSE. ― GASTON BACHELARD

3.0 REFLECTION The three tectonic studies are really useful to me in several ways. It gives me a deeper understand of the three tectonics and the relationship between each element. It also helps me to develop a way of thinking that is not restricted by the conventional idea. Besides, it gives me a new understanding of precedent research that is the important thing is the idea that behind the certain design, and the process, the narrative of it is how to understand the designer’s thought. Moreover, I really enjoyed that each exercise explores different technique and material that helps me to build up my understanding of earth and design my final project. The conceptacle is another important thing to my design that helps me combined the three tectonics and explore the relationship between on/under/above ground. The final project encourages me to think creatively about pavilion and secret, and how two can co-exist in certain settings. This project gives a great opportunity to push myself in a very limited time, and to use all the things I learnt throughout this semester, to design something like a pavilion.
