Agricultural & Environmental Sciences tarleton.edu/coaes Enrolling more than 1,900 students, the college boasts a pre-vet program, an internationally recognized horse production program, one of the largest agricultural extension/industry internship programs in Texas, and a state-of-the-art wildlife program. Nationwide, there are more graduates involved in agricultural education than any other university, and it is home to the Center for Agribusiness Excellence. Opening in Fall 2019, the new Animal & Plant Sciences Center will feature six state-of-the-art laboratories, a product sales center, four greenhouses, an outdoor demonstration garden, and a 42,000 square foot covered animal area with cattle, sheep and goat handling facilities.

Business Administration tarleton.edu/coba The college is a dynamic and innovative community of scholars and business professionals with an emphasis on ethical standards, internationalization and community partnerships. Its Computer Information Systems program recently was named the outstanding four-year program in North America. Faculty-led study abroad trips though the International Business Program and the Small Business Development Center offer opportunities for experiential learning.

Education tarleton.edu/coe A leader in teacher education, the college has founded one of the largest and oldest public school improvement partnerships in the United States. The student pass rate on teacher certification exams is 99%, the highest in The Texas A&M University System. The college is also home to the School of Kinesiology and the Laboratory for Wellness and Motor Behavior, in which students can work with some of the most innovative technology available to assist those with spinal cord injuries.

Health Sciences & Human Services tarleton.edu/chshs The college serves 1,600 students enrolled in successful, established programs in counseling, medical lab sciences, nursing, public health and social work. Many of our programs are offered on the Fort Worth, Waco, Midlothian, and Stephenville campuses as well as online via the Global Campus. The college also has a School of Nursing. Students and graduates are making a real impact on Texas healthcare.

Liberal & Fine Arts tarleton.edu/colfa The college offers majors in 14 fields from digital media to political science. It runs 14 instrumental and vocal performance ensembles, and is home to the School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Strategic Studies. Other opportunities include theatre productions, a public radio station and the Texan News Service, which distributes articles from Tarleton State journalism students to media throughout the state.

Science & Technology tarleton.edu/cost Tarleton’s world-renowned science faculty works with students in state-of-the-art facilities that include a nuclear accelerator lab, the largest undergraduate research observatory in the nation and the first planetarium in The Texas A&M University System. The School of Engineering was established in January 2018 and brings together a breadth of related professional programs from engineering, engineering technology and computer science, supporting collaborations and synergies for continued growth. It is also home to the Texas Institute for Applied Environmental Research, a national leader in water quality issues.

Study Abroad Tarleton Texans can be found all over the globe. Tarleton’s Study Abroad program has been sending students across the world for two decades. In 2019, 300 students had the opportunity to travel to 26 countries on six continents, covering 27 areas of study on Study Abroad Scholarships totaling more than $240,000. Texan Corps of Cadets The Texan Corps of Cadets is instilled with the values essential for service to our nation. Members of the Corps gain the knowledge and know-how to succeed in careers such as business, government and the military. Students of any major can participate in the Corps, and Corps members have the exclusive opportunity to obtain a minor in Leadership Studies.

ROTC The Texan Battalion is a Senior Army Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) program that focuses on students’ academic success and leadership development. ROTC scholarship programs enable qualified students to complete their degree plan of choice along with a Military Science curriculum and commission as a 2nd Lieutenant into the United States Army. Purple Poo Founded in 1921 and 1923, The TTS and TTP collectively known as the Purple Poo is the oldest spirit organization in the state of Texas! This secret organization maintains spirit across campus.

Tarleton Bands For over 100 years, the Tarleton Bands have been a primary home for university support and excellence in performance. Participation opportunities are open to all Tarleton students, regardless of major, and include The Sound & The Fury Marching Band, Foul Play Basketball Band, Texan Thunder Volleyball Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble I, and Jazz Ensemble II.

L.V. Risinger Bonfire A tradition started during the 1920’s, the burning of the L.V. Risinger Memorial Bonfire takes place on Friday evening of Homecoming week.

LOCATIONS One University. Six Locations. Endless Opportunities. Upper-level undergraduate and graduate classes are offered at these Tarleton locations which makes transferring and completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree easier than ever. Fort Worth Offering more than 40 undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs (with additional programs planned), Tarleton Fort Worth locations are meeting the ever-growing professional workforce needs of North Texas and beyond. The new Tarleton State University Fort Worth facility, located on the Chisholm Trail Parkway, opened in August 2019 and allows us to continue the 30+ year tradition of providing educational opportunities in Fort Worth and surrounding areas.


Waco Located at McLennan Community College (MCC) University Center (UC), Tarleton Waco serves nearly 1,000 students and offers 25+ undergraduate bachelor’s degree completion programs and graduate degrees. The University Center offerings allow students to maintain employment, live affordably, and complete degree goals in Waco through day, evening, and/or online course offerings.

Midlothian Tarleton Midlothian, located on the Navarro College – Midlothian campus, serves nearly 250 students and offers 7 undergraduate degree completion programs. A combination of day, evening, and online course offerings allows students to complete degree programs in a variety of areas including Business, Psychology, and Criminal Justice.

Global Campus (Online) Our 15+ online graduate degrees and undergraduate degree completion programs allow students the opportunity to earn a degree while maintaining professional and personal obligations.

RELLIS-Bryan The RELLIS Campus is the newest model of higher education in Texas, bringing several regional universities, including Tarleton State University and Blinn College, to one location in Bryan, Texas. Students can seamlessly transfer from Blinn College or another community college and/or university and complete Tarleton bachelor’s degrees in Public Administration, Criminal Justice, and Criminal Justice Administration through daytime and evening courses.

To attend any of our outreach locations you must have 30 or more transferrable credit hours and be TSI complete.

To receive an invitation for Texan Orientation, TSI test scores* must be submitted, unless exempt. *Students are required to take the Texas State Initiative Assessment (TSI) prior to enrolling in courses at Tarleton State University unless they qualify for an exemption. You do not have to pass all sections. Scores will be used for placement in courses. You may retest prior to the semester starting and make changes to your course registration with approval from your advisor.

Duck Camp tarleton.edu/orientation Immerse yourself in Tarleton’s rich history and traditions while bonding with fellow incoming and current Texans at this 3-day, 2-night experience designed to ease the transition from high school to college.

Transition Week tarleton.edu/orientation Beginning with Move-In and continuing to the first day of class, Transition Week helps students successfully transition to campus. Students have the chance to learn more about student success resources and meet fellow Texans at various events. Transition Week is mandatory for all first-year students.
