Education www.tarleton.edu/coe The College of Education trains future professionals in kinesiology, education, the psychological sciences and child and family studies. Through innovative instruction, professors guide students to develop the knowledge, spirit, experience and confidence — the know-how — to become problem solvers as educators, behavioral scientists, early childhood professionals, coaches and exercise scientists. The college is home to three departments — Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership and Technology, and Psychological Sciences — as well as Education Preparation Services and the School of Kinesiology comprised of the Department of Health and Human Performance and the Department of Sport Science. Health Sciences and Human Services www.tarleton.edu/chshs The College of Health Sciences and Human Services trains future professionals in counseling, medical lab sciences, nursing, public health and social work. About 2,100 students are enrolled in the college, attending courses in Stephenville, Fort Worth, Waco, Midlothian and online. Tarleton’s School of Nursing is part of the college and strives to improve the health of individuals and communities by providing an exceptional nursing education in Stephenville, Fort Worth, Waco and online. With a learner-focused approach, Tarleton offers academically and clinically challenging undergraduate and graduate programs that equip students with the skills and know-how to make a difference.

Liberal and Fine Arts www.tarleton.edu/colfa Tarleton State University’s College of Liberal and Fine Arts offers majors in 18 fields from art and digital media to legal and international studies. It is the home of the University bands, vocal performance groups, two radio stations, and numerous study programs in the United States and abroad. Other degree opportunities include theatre, journalism, paralegal training, event management, technical writing, history, sociology and criminal justice. In addition to undergraduate programs, the college also has graduate programs in public administration, communications, music education, and English. The college is home to the School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Strategic Studies which offers both master’s and doctoral degrees. The college has various programs online and on campuses in Stephenville, Fort Worth, Waco, Midlothian, and on the RELLIS campus in Bryan.

Science and Technology www.tarleton.edu/cost Tarleton’s College of Science and Technology educates students to work in science, technology, engineering and technology and be employed in healthcare, research, education, manufacturing, environmental science, engineering and business workforce. Nearly 1,600 students are enrolled in academic programs in the college at the Stephenville, RELLIS, Global Online, and Fort Worth campuses. Tarleton’s outstanding science faculty work with students in state-of-the-art facilities that include a nuclear accelerator lab, a large undergraduate research observatory, and new engineering building, and the first planetarium in The Texas A&M University System. The School of Engineering brings together a breadth of related professional programs from engineering, engineering technology and computer science while supporting collaborations and synergies for continued growth. The Timberlake Biological Field Station contains nearly 800 acres along the Colorado River that was established to advance environmental research and engage students in scientific discovery.

Purple Poo Founded in 1921 and 1923, the Ten Tarleton Peppers (TTP) and Ten Tarleton Sisters (TTS) collectively known as the Purple Poo, is the oldest spirit organization in Texas! This respected organization of anonymous members creates and encourages spirit across campus.
Tarleton Bands For over 100 years, the Tarleton Bands have been a primary home for university support and excellence in performance. Participation opportunities are open to all Tarleton students, regardless of major, and include The Sound & The Fury Marching Band, Foul Play Basketball Band, Texan Thunder Volleyball Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble I and Jazz Ensemble II.
L.V. Risinger Bonfire A tradition started during the 1920s, the burning of the L.V. Risinger Memorial Bonfire takes place on Friday evening of Homecoming week. The Plowboys, a campus spirit organization, traditionally builds the bonfire and its members usually camp out on the site throughout the duration of the construction process.

LOCATIONS One University. Six Locations. Endless Opportunities. Upper-level undergraduate and graduate classes are offered at these Tarleton locations which makes transferring and completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree easier than ever.
Fort Worth Offering more than 40 undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs (with additional programs planned), Tarleton-Fort Worth locations are meeting the ever-growing professional workforce needs of North Texas and beyond. The new Tarleton State University-Fort Worth instructional site, located on the Chisholm Trail Parkway, opened in 2019 and allows us to continue the 40+ year tradition of providing educational opportunities in the Fort Worth and surrounding areas. Through a partnership with Tarrant County College, select Tarleton courses are also offered on their Trinity River Campus located in downtown Fort Worth. Additionally, our Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science program is offered at the Richard C. Schaffer Educational Building in the heart of Fort Worth’s downtown Medical District. This nationally acclaimed program is part of a suite of professional pathology programs, including a Master of Science track in molecular diagnostics. Graduates of these programs enjoy a 100 percent pass rate and some of the highest scores in the nation on national board certification exams. They routinely find jobs in top medical facilities throughout North Texas and beyond.
Waco Located at McLennan Community College (MCC) University Center, Tarleton-Waco serves more than 1,000 students and offers 30 undergraduate bachelor’s degree completion programs and graduate degrees. The University Center offerings allow students to maintain employment, live affordably, and complete degree goals in Waco through day, evening, and/or online course offerings.
Midlothian Tarleton-Midlothian, located on the Navarro College – Midlothian campus, offers 7 undergraduate degree completion programs. A combination of day, evening and online course offerings allows students to complete degree programs in a variety of areas including business, psychology and criminal justice. These offerings allow students to maintain employment, live close to home and complete their educational goals in Ellis/Dallas counties.
Global Campus (Online) Our 15+ online graduate degrees and undergraduate degree completion programs allow students the opportunity to earn a degree while maintaining professional and personal obligations.
RELLIS-Bryan The RELLIS Academic Alliance is the newest model of higher education in Texas. RELLIS brings together several regional universities, including Tarleton State University and Blinn College, to one location in Bryan, Texas. Students can seamlessly transfer from Blinn College or another community college and/or university and complete Tarleton bachelor’s degrees in public administration, criminal justice, criminal justice administration, social work, mechanical engineering and mechanical engineering technology through daytime and evening courses.

Register for classes, attend information sessions and get more acquainted with campus. Mandatory for first-time students with less than 12 credit hours. To receive an invitation for Texan Orientation, TSI test scores* must be submitted, unless exempt. *Students are required to take the Texas State Initiative Assessment (TSI) prior to enrolling in courses at Tarleton State University unless they qualify for an exemption. You do not have to pass all sections. Scores will be used for placement in courses. You may retest prior to the semester starting and make changes to your course registration with approval from your advisor.
