FIRST-TIME STUDENT | If you are about to graduate or have already graduated from high school and you have not yet attended a post-secondary institution for one long semester (i.e., fall or spring), we consider you a first-time student. If you earned college credits before graduating from high school (dual credit) or took courses immediately after graduating from high school (during the summer), we also consider you a first-time student.

Admitted NEXT STEPS | Once you have been admitted, you’ll need to take action on the next steps. This includes signing up for orientation, completing your housing application and everything that ensures a smooth transition into college. UNIVERSITY ID (UID) | Your UID is a unique nine-digit number provided to you upon your application to Tarleton. This number, along with a starting PIN is sent to you in correspondence from the Admissions office. You’ll use this to check your application status, setup your go.tarleton.edu email address, complete the housing application, and every day as a college student. The number of credit hours reflects the number of hours a student spends in class for that course per week. Most courses during a fall or spring semester are 3 credit hours, meaning you spend 3 hours in class over the duration of 15 weeks. Most degree plans require 120 credit hours to graduate.
