Cloudy2Clear Windows – Service With A Smile! It’s been a crazy few months for Cloudy2Clear Windows. The company which specialises in repairing windows which are steamed up, broken or damaged by replacing the panes – not the frames has grown rapidly as homeowners take advantage of their services. Managing Director Alan Ball feels that it’s all about service. ‘Our product is simple. If your double glazing is misted up we can replace the glass at a fraction of the cost of a new window, in any type of frame, and with a new 5 year guarantee. But it’s not just about saving
people money, although that obviously helps. Many tradespeople have struggled since last year and I honestly feel that during the good times a minority perhaps didn’t focus on customer care as much as they should have done. We make sure we turn up when we say we will, do the job the customer requires and leave their house as clean as a whistle. I often get comments back from customers on how they really didn’t expect that sort of service which, in a way, is very sad for the service industry as a whole.’ Cloudy2Clear service the Great Sutton and Little Sutton areas &
Alan is finding that his approach is a major factor in his success. ‘The truth is that it’s not just the personal satisfaction that I get from doing a good job but also it makes good business sense. I get a huge amount of business from friends
and family of people I’ve done work for, which just goes to show how much a little bit of effort is appreciated.’ So, if your windows are steamed up, broken or damaged give Alan a call for a free quotation on 0800 61 21 118 and he’ll be happy to help!

EARLY SUMMER B
Y June, the garden is at its peak with new foliage, many flowering perennials and shrubs.
For those with well drained soil, flowers like Alliums are popping up fleetingly. The large heads of Allium aflatunense Purple Sensation will grow to about 75cm tall. A sun loving shrub is Cistus purpureus Alan Fradd which has semi evergreen leaves and lovely pure white flowers with red blotches at the base of each petal. Growing to about 1m in height and width it is a good shrub for summer. Those with heavier damp soil, have a look out for Aruncus. This is a large perennial growing to 1m in width and has tall spires of feathery Astilbe like cream flowers. It will grow in any heavy wet soil in sun or light shade. If you have average soil, neither well drained nor heavy clay then a lovely easy shrub for early summer are Weigelas. They grow in any situation in sheltered or exposed positions and provide many pink or red flowers in early summer. If the shrub becomes too large, cut back after flowering to ensure new growth for next year as it flowers on wood from the previous year. Maintenance jobs to do in the garden in June include pruning Cherry trees. However as the trees are in leaf it is more difficult than pruning a tree in winter as the shape is difficult to see. It is best not to do this in winter as cuts can develop canker. Prune any shrubs that have just finished flowering. Plant seeds or summer salads and vegetables that mature fast, like lettuce, radishes and carrots. If you have grown leeks or broccoli from seed, plant them into their final positions in June or early July. l If you would like to visit gardens for ideas, I suggest you look out for gardens open under the National Gardens Scheme where all proceeds go to charities including Marie Cure Cancer Care and Macmillan Cancer Support. 150 Barrel Well Hill in Chester is open on 25th and 26th June with a superb terraced garden overlooking the river Dee with a stream running through the bog garden and huge variety of flowering plants. The Old Cottage at Frodsham is open on 4th and 5th June with a large organic, wildlife friendly garden with herbaceous borders and pond. Mother, Baby and Bowen Therapy During pregnancy Bowen Therapy has a very important role to play in the health care of women both during and after pregnancy. The Bowen Technique is integral for Mothers-To-Be as it is one of the only therapies that can be performed in its entirety, being very gentle, with the patient sitting down or lying on their side, whilst remaining clothed. Bowen Therapy can treat all common pregnancy pains from morning sickness and tiredness to physical pain such as back ache and sciatica and assist with digestive problems as well as psychological and emotional well-being. For new mothers Bowen is helpful in speeding recovery after birth. Treatment focuses on encouraging the uterus to contract and helping the pelvis to realign. The sooner after labour the mother comes for treatment, the more effective Bowen therapy will be. For babies Birth is one of the most traumatic processes a child will go through and Bowen Therapy can be given within days of birth. Bowen can be extremely effective in treating colic, digestive problems, chest infections and restlessness as it is gentle enough to be used on the most delicate of babies. As babies change so fast often the results can be seen during the course of the session. Bowen is generally pleasant to receive each session lasting 30 to 60 minutes. Many clients become so relaxed they fall asleep during treatment. For more information on Bowen Therapy refer to Wirral Bowen Therapy above and for other Bowen Therapy Professional Association members in your area visit www.bowen-therapy.co.uk or call 0844 561 7173

by Ellesmere Port and Neston MP Justin Madders
Justin Madders, the Labour MP for Ellesmere Port and Neston, and Shadow Health Minister, gives his thoughts on the outcome of the Hillsborough inquests.
Hillsborough
J
AMES Delaney, Christopher Edwards and James Hennessy are names the people of this area will always remember. Young men with their lives ahead of them were lost to us when they attended a football match at Hillsborough in 1989. In total, 96 football fans died and it is a mark of shame for this country that it took 27 years for the truth to become official, that these fans were unlawfully killed.
Touchwood Tree Surgery
Like most people, I remember at the time the horror of the scenes unfolding on TV. I remember two lads from my football team appearing on the national news laying a wreath on the terraces in the aftermath which shook me to the core. We all knew someone who was at the match and in the days before mobile phones it wasn’t as easy to get the word out that somebody was safe, but the agony of waiting for news was nothing compared to the pain for those who lost loved RFS Cert Arb & NPTC Qualified Staff ones. Scandalously, we know that pain was only the start. What followed was a concerted Fully Insured Domestic & Commercial attempt by the authorities and certain sections of the media to smear those fans. For those born in the last few decades it is difficult to comprehend just how much football fans were Pruning, Felling, Reducing demonised by some at this time and they seemed the perfect scapegoat for the authorities andnegligence. Clearance toDismantling blame for their own But the families knew differently and they have shown tremendous spirit and determination to keep fighting for the truth. Hedge Maintenance
Stump Removal The original inquest was a travesty and whilst the most recent one finally got to the truth, it wasTree still made much and harder than it needed to be by police lawyers continuing to smear the fans. Surveys reports The fact that no individual has yet been called to account for their actions is something that now needsEstimates to be put right. Free &Prosecutions Advice must follow. Andy Burnham gave one of the most powerful speeches ever heard in the House of 0151 MP 336 5847 Commons in response to the official statement from the Home Secretary. He said: “What kind 07825 994who 246 of country leaves people did no more than wave off their loved ones to a football match still sitting in a courtroom 27 years later begging for the reputations of their sons, daughters, www.touchwoodtreesurgery.co.uk brothers, sisters and fathers?”

We should all reflect on this, those complicit must answer for their actions and we have to ensure something like this never, ever happens again.

Pub owner fined for food safety offences The owner of a Little Sutton pub restaurant has been fined and ordered to pay costs totalling £6,036 for food hygiene offences. Peter Andrews (52) had previously pleaded guilty to eight offences, under food safety and hygiene legislation in respect of offences occurring at The Cheshire Yeoman Public House, Ledsham Road, Little Sutton, when he appeared for sentence at Chester Magistrates Court in May this year. The court heard that in January 2015 during an inspection by the Environmental Health Team from Cheshire West and Chester Council, the kitchen was found to be in a general unhygienic state, with grease and dirt. Officers also found a contaminated ice machine and out of date Cornish Clotted Cream. As a result of the inspection, the Cheshire Yeoman received a food hygiene rating of 1 – Urgent Improvement Required. Two further visits were carried out in May 2015 and September 2015 where similar conditions were found, despite the previous visits from the Environmental Health Team. The court fined Peter Andrews £4,000 and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £1,906. 16 Tel 01244 350398 www.southwirral.com

A The Geberit AquaClean 4000 only uses 400ml of water at each use, and although this is more than a normal loo, there are positive environmental aspects to this choice, such as using less toilet paper. Water, chemicals and other raw materials are wasted in the production of toilet paper, and while it’s biodegradable, the process still leaves chemical traces in our water supply. Q I’m really interested in buying a Geberit toilet with a spray function, but I have heard they’re very expensive. Are there any more affordable alternatives?
