Cloudy2Clear Windows – Service With A Smile!

It’s been a crazy few months for Cloudy2Clear Windows. The company which specialises in repairing windows which are steamed up, broken or damaged by replacing the panes – not the frames has grown rapidly as homeowners take advantage of their services. Managing Director Alan Ball feels that it’s all about service. ‘Our product is simple. If your double glazing is misted up we can replace the glass at a fraction of the cost of a new window, in any type of frame, and with a new 5 year guarantee. But it’s not just about saving

people money, although that obviously helps. Many tradespeople have struggled since last year and I honestly feel that during the good times a minority perhaps didn’t focus on customer care as much as they should have done. We make sure we turn up when we say we will, do the job the customer requires and leave their house as clean as a whistle. I often get comments back from customers on how they really didn’t expect that sort of service which, in a way, is very sad for the service industry as a whole.’ Cloudy2Clear service the Great Sutton and Little Sutton areas &

Alan is finding that his approach is a major factor in his success. ‘The truth is that it’s not just the personal satisfaction that I get from doing a good job but also it makes good business sense. I get a huge amount of business from friends

and family of people I’ve done work for, which just goes to show how much a little bit of effort is appreciated.’ So, if your windows are steamed up, broken or damaged give Alan a call for a free quotation on 0800 61 21 118 and he’ll be happy to help!

MP given a grilling by Sutt Pupils at Sutton Green welcomed Ellesmere Port and Neston MP Justin Madders to the school as part of their work in understanding the work of the Queen, Parliament and the Government. Mr Madders gave a talk on his job, how he gets involved in representing local people and the importance of encouraging people to get involved in democracy and vote. He was then quizzed by the children – more challenging questions then PM Question time! Topics covered: his views on new labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, what should be done to help the refugees, what is the hardest and best decisions he has made so far in his job, how he balanced work and family life and if you could change one UK law what would it be.

Pictured with Mr Madders are head teacher Mrs Griffiths, head boy Charlie Reid and head Girl Olivia Gow. 8 Tel 01244 350398

Head teacher Ann Griffiths said: “The children really enjoyed meeting their local MP and will be standing for their own mini-elections as school councillors in the forthcoming weeks. They have now picked up a few tips on how to get elected and the importance of everyone being encouraged to vote!’

Can give a cat a home? Theyou Bowen Technique

South Wirral Cats Protection have a number of cats who desperately need a home

What is it? The Bowen Technique is a remedial, hands-on therapy that is applied using very gentle pressure. The practitioner uses thumbs and fingers on precise points of the body to perform Bowen’s unique sets of rolling-type moves which stimulate the muscles and soft tissue of the body. There is no manipulation or adjustment of hard tissue and no force is used. The experience of a treatment is gentle, subtle and relaxing. It is believed that the Bowen Technique prompts the body to reset, repair and balance itself and clients report the experience of pain relief, improvement of function and recovery of energy.

BEX

This young all white male cat came to us as a stray. Can you offer him his ideal home? He is very friendly and loves attention. An experienced cat owner is needed as he sometimes gets overexcited and will give you a little nip but

usually it is only in play. Because of this we would not consider homing him with a family with young children Bex is about two years old he is neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped.

Stanley is three years old and very friendly. Unfortunately Stanley has the FIV virus so must be kept as an indoor cat. He will make a very loyal and loving companion. He follows his fosterer around everywhere and when she sits down Stanley thinks it is especially so he can sit on her lap. Stanley is the perfect companion, he is happiest on your knee, or on the newspaper you are trying to read. Cats with FIV make ideal indoor companion animals.

Seacombe Drive Park gets a facelift

The official opening of the £145,000 improvement scheme at Seacombe Drive Park has taken place. Previously play facilities were dated, not as accessible and under- utilised. This extensive project includes: • Upgrade of play facilities, including new play equipment and new safety surfacing, • New seating and picnic benches, • Extension of the pathway network, to make the park more accessible especially during the winter months. • Works also included a refresh of the MUGA (multi games court) which included a repainting programme, new basketball hoops, repairs to surfacing, and painting of the youth shelter. Sutton councillor Paul Donovan said: “These fantastic improvements have been very well received by local children and adults with a large increase in usage of both the equipment and the pathways. “A great deal of thought www.boogiebounce.co.uk went into the overall design Its here!! Dave commented “We recognised Irby as a great place to stay and grow in, we like the space we are in. you can easily upgrade your existing loo. They all include an oscillating shower with forward and backwards movement, air purification and a warm air dryer.

The Geberit AquaClean range is comfortable and stylish too. And with a model to suit every style of home, it would make a perfect addition to your new spa-like bathroom.

A You don’t have to spend a vast amount of money to purchase a Geberit toilet. There are also less expensive models in the range such as the Geberit AquaClean 4000. This compact loo seat is designed to replace your existing loo seat and is straightforward to install, as it fits on the existing seat.

Q Should I be concerned about how much water is used in spray-function toilets?

A The Geberit AquaClean 4000 only uses 400ml of water at each use, and although this is more than a normal loo, there are positive environmental aspects to this choice, such as using less toilet paper. Water, chemicals and other raw materials are wasted in the production of toilet paper, and while it’s biodegradable, the process still leaves chemical traces in our water supply.

Hayley’s health and fitness

Health and Fitness blog

My child is chunky... am I to blame? Childhood obesity has doubled in the last 30 years, with the long term effects such as heart disease, strokes, diabetes and types of cancer being just a few of the problems being over weight can lead too. Parents are often asking themselves if they are to blame and what can be done to stop this growing epidemic. What a child consumes in their early years is down to parents, their portion size, the foods they eat, the drinks they consume, are what they have been given, so many people argue that parents are to blame for over weight children. So what can you do? Basic things like... • Ensuring your child stays active ie; limiting times on computers • Keeping the children’s portion sizes small

• Opt for water or no sugar juice drink at meal times

• Be a positive role model- show your child that you are willing to eat all foods which will encourage them to do the same. • Buy a range of foods with different textures, flavours and colours, having a wide range of different foods will ensure that your child is introduced to different foods and has a healthy appetite.

• Never put your child on a diet, fad diets can’t be maintained for life so as soon they eat normally the weight will go back on, opt for healthier home cooked foods instead. • Keep sweets, treats, crisps to a minimum not after every meal!

• Desserts; opt for yoghurts and fruits.

• Make sauces from scratch, then you can monitor whats being put in it, often tinned/packet sauces are full of sugar too

much salt and artificial ingredients, not good for little tummies!

• Stay away from fizzy drinks, with tooth decay at an all time high, not only will the extra sugars contribute to obesity you will be rotting your child’s teeth too! • Learn to say NO! Children love sweets, crisps, chocolate, basically anything thats bad for them so its enevitable that they are going to ask for these things. Parents often feel cruel for saying no when their child asks for food, but how much more cruel would you feel when your child is at the dentist getting their teeth pulled out, or they are at the doctors being diagnosed with type two diabetes!

• Get them to an exercise class, my Zumba classes, Bokwa and Blast classes are child friendly. Paying only £1 for 5-10 year olds and £2 for 11-16 year, get them active with you and enjoy a bit of family time too!

LETTER FROM WESTMINSTER by Ellesmere Port and Neston MP Justin Madders

Justin Madders, the Labour MP for Ellesmere Port and Neston, gives an insight into life at Westminster in his first few months since winning the seat.

Awe inspiring Parliament

T

he first few days were a real whirlwind; countless inductions, passwords to remember, names and places that were all new to me plus of course the excitement of really being in the Houses of Parliament! It would be fair to say I felt more like a tourist at the start; so many amazing pieces of architecture and so much history around every corner. I haven’t had a full tour yet but I really do need to take the time to appreciate the surroundings I now find myself in. It only really hit home to me that I was really there in my own right when I sat in the Chamber for the election of the Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow. Being sat on those green benches in a packed chamber with the Government only a few yards away from me was a very special moment as well as being a reminder about what I am there to do. Each week different Government departments will take their turn to put their Ministers before the House of Commons to answer questions from MP’s of all parties on questions relevant to that department. What people may not realise is that any MP who wishes to ask an oral question has to enter a ballot to ask a question and with so many MP’s and only an hour for questions many MP’s are disappointed. The lottery for Prime Ministers’ questions is even more fiercely contested. Aside from the main chamber there are also debates in Westminster Hall which is where MP’s can request debates take place on any subject they wish to see discussed. There are only a limited number of slots and so far my requests have been unsuccessful. However, I have participated in debates about English votes for English Laws and the impact on North Wales, vehicle procurement in the police and regeneration of town centres.

Justin Madders at Sutton Green School, Little Sutton.

There was lovely weather this weekend which was just as well as I attended a number of Summer Fairs. I visited both St. John ‘s and St Paul’s before heading off to Neston where it seemed the whole town had come out for their Summer fete. On the Sunday I attend the Mayor of Ellesmere Port’s Civic Service held at St Thomas’s where Gordon McGuiness gave his customary thought provoking sermon. My first ever Prime Minister’s question was a challenge with all the eyes on me but I delivered my question on the Northern Powerhouse (or lack of it) and whilst my question was tongue in chew it was making a serious point that the North isn’t just the big cities and places like ours need to be included. As is the norm on these350398 occasions I didn’t get a proper answer but my point was made. 26 To advertise call 01244
