All employees were divided into 13 Teams and each team contested to score better than the other. And the TSSDC Pune team along with TSSDC Nasik team were adjudged as the winners!!! Our theme for this edition is Safety as we thank our Housekeeping staff and Security for ensuring that all Safety parameters are strictly followed at the Centre. Even during lockdown, the Centre was cleaned twice a week and while we look forward to a reopening soon, they continue to ensure that the Centre is fumigated and ready to welcome us soon. Our BIG Thanks to them for implementing all Safety measures at the Centre & keeping us safe!

did you know? A village with no locks and doors may be the safest on Earth The village of Shani Shingnapur is famous for not having a door or lock on a single house. Beyond that, there has not been a recording of a criminal act for almost 400 years. Many people think that the shared vulnerability has created a neighborly trust between the residents, which has formed a protection stronger than a deadbolt or heavy gate.

cover trail Safety plays a very vital role in life be it a professional world or our personal life. In Tata STRIVE also Safety is a very important factor it plays a very vital role in the operation. Some of the noteworthy activities of team was having a safety team WhatsApp group where the information about any safety concerns used to flow as and when it happens. All the information used to be authenticated and then only put in the group. Every fortnight we used to have a meeting with the Safety Committee of Tata STRIVE and then each zones (North, East, West, South and Orrisa) used to present and share the news and best practices in their respective areas. Similarly, newsletter named Safety Matters is published on a monthly basis and each issue has important information about the pandemic as well as other safety related matters. Talking about our experience as a Safety marshal member we are also on-the-job safety advocates. I strongly believe we are the additional eyes and ears in our departments and can help identify potential problems and bring them to the attention of the safety committee for correction before incidents occur. When there is an incident, we as safety marshals have the knowledge to complete incident reports, conduct interviews and look for the true cause of the incident. These skills also help us make recommendations to prevent future incidents. Not to forget we also celebrated April as Safety Month and there were many informative sessions on safety and activities related to Safety like Quizzes, Polls, Poster making Competition, Video making etc. I feel very excited to be part of this very important team of Tata STRIVE and look forward to serve it more in a more efficient manner. Stay Safe, Stay healthy!

Tata Group founder Jamshedji Tata strongly believed in providing a safe and secure environment to all employees. Tata STRIVE understands that employees and students will be potentially exposed to unsafe conditions and situations. Hence considers safety as a culture. I am proud to be a part of an organization where safety is part of the work culture. Travel and Safety is my passion, so I started my career in the Administration Department. One of my happiest moments is when I was standing in front of our learners and colleagues and sharing knowledge on safety. The fire drills are one of the important events of our organization which we conduct every quarterly or half-yearly and for me, this is a joyful moment because here we learn and practice to save ourselves and the lives of others around us from the fire, earthquake or any other disasters. Whenever I think of, 'Why am I a Safety Marshall? or Why is Fire Safety & First Aid important?' I realize that saving a life is the most supreme job on earth. And we as Safety Marshalls majorly focus on Saving lives. In case of a fire breakout, many lives can be saved within the first 3-4 minutes simply by giving First Aid to the casualty at the accident spot and by using correct fire safety measures. Our body is the most supreme gift given to us by God. By learning Life Saving skills and saving others' lives we can offer ourselves as a worthy gift to God. As a Safety Marshall, I am responsible for assessing fire risks, spot and report hazards, administer first aid, take appropriate actions in the event of a fire and ensure safe evacuation. STAY SAFE & STAY HEALTHY!

my skill story By Amrita Fernandes

Many of us find ourselves stuck in a daily or weekly routine that offers little more than a “rinse and repeat” type of life. Sometimes bringing an end to this repetitive pattern of life becomes important. One way to end the monotony is to focus on a hobby that is both enjoyable and helps you pass the time in a meaningful way. At times it can be a bit challenging to cultivate a good hobby. One person who manages his hobby amidst his chores is Subodh Jadhav, Team Lead - Center Mobilization & placement TSSDC, Pune. He is one of those people who have an obsession with paper & cardboard. Cardboard cartons, kitchen & toilet rolls, all kinds of paper, right from newspapers to sparkling decorative papers, he loves them all. Every time he is happy or is overburdened with work or he just wants to while around his time, he comes up with a new piece of art. This indeed reminds me; the things I call waste could turn out to be so useful if I had put in some effort in working on it. When asked, why do you invest your time in these activities the answer is, "It helps me relieve stress. It lets me relax and seek pleasure in activities that aren’t associated with work, chores, or other responsibilities. I receive pride in making my ideas a reality and creating masterpieces builds confidence in me." As quoted, "It requires just a little time and passion." No matter what your mental needs may be, there’s a good chance that picking up a healthy, enthralling hobby will help.
