Garden of Eden


Adam is alone in the Garden.

Parents: God told Adam to name the animals that were created, and Adam did name them. Adam realized that all the animals were created male and female, but he was alone. Adam was lonely. 1

Parents: Have your child connect the dots on the two pictures, then write down the name of each animal under the picture. Color each animal. Ask: Are there males and females of these animals? LEVEL K / LESSON 2

God makes a wife for Adam.

Parents: God saw that it was a bad thing for Adam to be lonely. So God put Adam in a deep sleep and took one of his ribs and made a woman. When Adam woke up, he wasn’t by himself anymore. Do you know what Adam’s wife was named? 3

Adam and Eve are happy together.

Parents: Adam and his wife live happily in the Garden. God is with them and instructs them to take care of the Garden. LEVEL K / LESSON 2

The Tree of Life Parents: God put two trees in the Garden and told Adam and Eve about both of them. The Tree of Life represented God’s way of life. If Adam and Eve would eat the fruit of this tree, they would live forever.

Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil Parents: This tree represents man making up his own mind about what’s right or wrong, without God’s help. Color these two trees using colors that represent God’s way and then man’s way.

God says, "Don’t eat this fruit." Parents: God instructed Adam and Eve not to touch or eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil because, if they did, they would surely die. 7

Satan tempts Eve. Parents: Satan was very bad and it was his goal to fool Eve and trick her into eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Satan took the form of a serpent and lied to Eve by telling her that if she ate the fruit, she would not die. LEVEL K / LESSON 2

They both eat the fruit. Parents: Eve was deceived into believing that the fruit was good. (She believed Satan the serpent and took the fruit to Adam. They both ate, and their eyes were opened to know good from evil without relying on God.) 9

CHILDREN’S BIBLE LESSON


God sends them from the Garden. Parents: God was unhappy that Adam and Eve disobeyed Him, but because He had compassion for them, He banned them from coming back into the Garden and eating from the Tree of Life. God made clothes for them from animal skins and put a flaming sword at the entrance to the Garden. Adam and Eve went to live in the wilderness instead and became farmers. LEVEL K / LESSON 2
